A bit outdated today but a good classic. When you're alone, in the darkness, you can hear YAME YAME
Oh this game got amazing music , great memories and the coolest character ever agent 47 .
Jogging is illegal, 0/10

Keep in mind that you will need some patching for this game first.
AI is a bit bonkers in the sequel, the worst part of it is you can't run legally (holding shift and spamming W works though, making a macros could be useful).
Nice story, if you are interested in Hitman, you definitely should give this game a chance. Locations are varied, missions are interesting. But the stealth is not very comfortable, and disguises feel useless half the time even though they are certainly not, and in some circumstances you will actually feel like you are tricking other people with them.
Collecting weapons from various missions is a fun mechanic. If you're gonna play this game - replay for example the first mission perfectly with a guide, you'll like the reward, akimbo silenced silver ballers are fun.
enjoy this game if you play on windows 98!
Best soundtracks ever
My favorite stealth shooter on the classic Xbox when I was a kid. This game holds up well after so many years. I recall having a frame issue on another PC where trying to move around would be janky, the solution I had to use then was to adjust frames for this game in Nvidia control panel and limit it to 30, this issue didn't occur when I played through it this time around.
one of the original Hitman games
My childhood masterpiece
Solid improvement upon the original, foundations clearly laid for the following titles.
I love killing people
I used to play this game instead of studying for my school exams when I was a kid.
Awesome game, the japan mission was peak stealth.
There's a game breaking glitch in the Hidden Valley Mission which, if you get, will prevent you from getting Silent Assassin and can even stop you from progressing. Truly a terrible experience at that point. The only saving grace is that the other levels are at least doable. Hidden Valley also comes with Guards who ID check every other guard for some reason. I.e. you can't even use disguises in this level to get past them. Which, I might add, is a core game mechanic for Hitman games.
one of the best hitman games
great game
Simply masterpiece. It not as hardcore as Hitman: Codename 47 but still very-very hard (probably, as all games of old era). Map design and missions are brilliant. Strongly recommended to play.
It requires hours of trial and error to make it work on a modern machine. Don't buy it.
how can the game be for sale if it doesnt even launch
The game is broken on pc.
This is a really good game! I watched Theogony and I did cheats in this game!
A classic
An icon of the great Hitman game series
Nice game

Guard Checking Your Id
After a weekend playing Hitman 2, I went back to my office for work on Monday. There I saw a new co-worker I didn’t recognise. While watching them walk across the office, I realised they were walking slighter faster than anyone else, so of course I immediately shot them to death.
Hitman 2 isn’t the worst game I’ve played, I just did not enjoy it. I didn’t play it as a kid so I don’t have the benefit of nostalgia. It’s a frustrating experience, often leaving you wondering “when it gets good”. There are flashes of brilliance, and some levels absolutely click. However, the limitations got old fast.
The most egregious one is running. You cannot run in this game. Codename 47 allowed you to run where you wanted in the right disguise – perhaps not the best for realism but much better for enjoyability when 47s walking speed is so slow. Any fast movement is heard by the guard’s crazy good hearing and is a “shoot-on-sight” offence. This is particularly annoying when you get “caught” just trying to get to the next area and are executed without explanation immediately. Some civvies move faster than your default speed, and for some reason are amazing at seeing through your disguises. You must keep a snails pace at all times to blend in, but also never get too close to anyone. Furthermore, the silent weapons like fiber wire and anaesthetic (with it’s long wind up time) need you attack from the back – you must agonisingly creep up to hostiles and not take a single audible step, while they move faster than you and their buddies can all recognise each other by footfall alone with a hearing radius of about 50 miles.
Hearing comes into play with nightvision too – a couple of levels let you turn off the lights so you can run around in NVGs – oh except they can recognise the sound of an assassin moving past them and open fire with pinpoint accuracy in pitch blackness – what was the point of turning off the lights? Some patrols routes are painfully long – leading to long sequences of waiting where there’s nothing you can do.
The AI sucks at fighting. The Hitman series isn’t really a shooter to be fair (and this is from 2002), but it takes the edge out of the game. On your 10th time being caught for daring to move with any sense of purpose, you realise all you have to do is shoot one guard. The rest will come to investigate, stand in the exact same spot, and stare blankly while you line up a row of headshots. Bullets also move hilarious slowly in this game.
The story is just an excuse to get you killing (fair enough) and the voice work is awful (and downright racist for some NPCs). The inventory will sometimes give you a random item than the one you wanted.
Despite this, it’s not all bad. If you have a lot of patience it could be worth checking out. Jesper Kyd’s soundtrack always slaps. As I said, some levels let you forget all the frustrations and kick ass. While there was some jank (Again, 2002), performance wise it ran fine. I didn’t need to do anything to make my steam version work, and also look good. If you are a fan of this type of game and are happy to take it very slow, go for it. If you’re spoiled by modern innovations like walking faster than 0.2mph, don’t bother.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is, to say the least, an absolutely incredible game—especially considering the year it was released! The gameplay is remarkably immersive, with smart mechanics and level design that still hold up even today. It’s a must-play for anyone who appreciates a blend of stealth, strategy, and creativity. Highly recommend it!
The most unrealistic part of this game is the fact that Russian civilians run to the guards after seeing a man in a suit carrying a sniper rifle.
A great game. It expands on the original Hitman game in pretty much all ways. The stealth is even more important, The combat is a little better with the larger variety of weapons you can use. Some of which you get by getting the silent assassin grade after missions.
The game has quite a lot of diverse missions, even more so than the original with some of the harder ones giving you extra saves in case you mess up which is great. Being able to save at all is already an improvement on the first game where if you mess up you have to do the entire mission from the start and it got tedious after a few tries especially if it was a long mission. The last mission is the worst though since you need to kill all the guards in the mission and there is no saving. You are forced to get into gun fights with multiple enemies at once at points and it is not fun. At least it is the only such mission in the game.
It does have a few annoying bugs on one of the japanese missions, but besides that there aren't too many bugs worth mentioning. It is a little rough around the edges considering it's age but it is worth at a shot 9/10
gives a lot of Bad n Good Feels from the Past Related to this,
but Overall this is a Really great game, Replayed it alot Too!!
Finally I bought a childhood game
Does not work in my new Windows 11 but works excellently in my older computer with Ubuntu linux 24.04.
Unplayable, the game lags so bad for no reason.
I was very pleased with this game. Unlike Codename 47 which I was not a fan of as seen in my review for it, Silent Assassin was a challenging yet rewarding game and I actually felt like I was encouraged to experiment with different ways of approaching each hit. Not to make this too much about Codename 47, but that game felt so linear and unfair, whereas Silent Assassin had new mechanics that expanded the maps and possibilities of how to complete each mission. This game felt like it took pretty much everything good that Codename 47 did and expanded upon it while removing most of the negative aspects of the first game. The biggest problems with this game in my experience were probably the AI randomly turning on you and shooting you and the sneaking mode making you move REALLY slow to the point that it's very difficult to use. Other than that, I was also quite pleased with this game's story. It was interesting to see the religious awakening that Agent 47 was going through in the beginning of the game, the background of each hit, and the ending of the game was honestly really interesting with the choice Agent 47 made and the reasons for it, but I won't get into spoilers.
Overall, Silent Assassin is a fantastic game. Were there some points that were a bit frustrating, outdated, or just pure bad? Sure. However, the great parts of this game definitely overpowered the bad. I had a blast playing this game and I would definitely recommend it for anyone to at least try. Also, If you're like me and had a lackluster experience with Codename 47, I think this one will make up for it.
8.5/10
Might be my favorite game from whole Hitman franchise. It was awesome in 2002 and it still awesome 12 years later. Just classic and perfect Hitman game
good game havent had any issue and didnt have to install a mod to get it running 😎
good
the game won't even start. almost kms twice beacuse of this delightful game. 10/10 experience.
good
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is not far from the first part, retaining the poor controls, improving the picture and a little more advancing the stealth, which is still bad.
** DO NOT BUY THE BUNDLE FOR HITMAN **
This is one of the games you have to download mods in order to get it to operate. You can't just get on it and go. There will be a black screen, another black screen, a picture since the scene won't actually play but with audio and then the menu works but that's about it. rest of the game is a trainwreck unless you roll the dice on a mod and it may not even end up working for you anyway.
You've been warned. They won't refund me despite not playing this game at all because I put more than 2 hours into an entirely different game in the bundle.
Apparently, if your hardware is too good (which nowadays is common for this game), you can't play it (FPS lock bug, never fixed)
ПИВО
Unfortunately this game doesnt run well at all on PC, a 15 year old game, quite possibly the best game ever and it isnt optimized on here, wow what a pity.
Blatantly doesn't work on my computer, I have a computer good enough to run modern games smoothly, but Agent 47 only moves when he feels like it for me. Not only that, but the first cutscene didn't trigger for me, making it impossible for me to progress.
the game is fun but you need to download community fixes for it to be playable
nice game
Running in this game is considered a terrorist act. I found Saddam Husseins hiding spot at the cost of feeling like Sisyphus chasing people around with the fiber wire. This and the first game should be some sort of capital punishment

One of my best childhood games of all time, I used to play it on my ps2 back in the day, The soundtrack of the game is so sick especially the japanese mission ost, So nostalgic, It's so sad to see games you used to play shatters by time. I wish I could live these times again, But I will always appreciate the memories.
Pretty solid game! The lore is also good.
