Entwined: The Perfect Murder - an exciting detective game where you become a detective in a classic whodunit investigation. After the mysterious death of Adam Turner, you have the opportunity to interrogate all the suspects and gather evidence to unravel this tangled criminal intrigue. Follow every twist of the plot and solve the puzzle of this mysterious case.
Great Hidden Object Mystery Game! The Story Seemed a little Rushed especially at the end But Great Game
Not a favorite of mine. Boring, stiff and the puzzles are rather easy.
want my money back. can't get past enter name screen!!!
I liked it. Not too hard, not too easy. Just a chilled laid back mystery to solve. Perfect for a lazy Sunday evening
Okay, so first of all, I understand that this game costs 6 Euro so expecting amazing quality from a cheap game might be silly.
Now the biggest problem with this game is that its almost a literal copy of "Entwined: Strings of Deception. I'm not kidding. Literally the same plot, someone gets murdered, the murderer tries to pin it on someone else, the victim cheated on his wife, his wife was cheating on the victim. Lazy writing, basically.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that even some of the puzzles are the same.
Then there's grammatical mistakes. It's not a huge deal, but come on, how hard can it be to do a spelling check before you release the game
Last but not least, the dumb item using, that makes no sense.
Example: you find matchsticks, you use them to ignite the stove. Okay. Then you find a kettle with a CLEARLY open lid. So naturally, your first thought would be "Aha! I need to fill it with water!" So you go to a bathroom that has a running water, you use kettle on the running water and the game says "NO. THATS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!" Hmm...
Then you use the STILL EMPTY kettle on the heated stove and it works. Why would you heat an empty kettle? You click on it again and it says "You need to fill it with water"
???????
What the hell is this dumb logic? I understand that HOG games are cheesy most of the time but this is outrageous.
All in all, this game is definitely not worth the 6 Euro. Utter garbage
Unfortunately, this one was more frustrating than fun. Items you picked up weren't used in intelligent ways (Example: I pick up a teakettle, but instead of being able to fill it from the running tap in the bathroom, I have to find a glass to use under the running tap, which I THEN dump in the teakettle) and even when you had the right items, if you didn't click in the exact right spot, they wouldn't work. Also, some of the HOG item names would change from screen to screen. A clothespin could be called a peg one time and then a clip another.
Nice plot(s). Very interesting too. Fun for truly Hidden Object lovers.
fairly quick but fun, story was a little obvious/cheesy but isnt that what makes most HOGs so fun! Gave me a good couple of hours of enjoyment and was fairly relaxing. wish it was a bit longer but overall not a bad deal. 7/10 recommend
A lot of the solution objects are non-intuitive. I'd say that it'd be a good idea to just try every object in your inventory on puzzles no matter how ridiculous they seem, except that the game is also really picky about where you click, so it's entirely possible to try the correct object on a puzzle but to be told it's the wrong one because you should have clicked a hair to the left.
The hidden object scenes are also extremely sensitive about where you click, which is only annoying because there are actually a lot of very thin objects to find.
I'm really not a fan of this game. I got it because I love simple little point-and-click mystery hidden object games (which the main reason I got it was for the hidden object aspect, so mission accomplished I guess?). I wasn't expecting this to be particularly mind-blowing or anything, but it honestly was just frustrating and kinda lame.
A lot of the puzzles you have to solve have ridiculous solutions (like having to fill up a teapot with a separate glass in a separate room instead of, y'know, filling it up in the kitchen like a normal person? Or using a boomerang to cut a security alarm wire?? Or having to use a glass cutter to open a glass cabinet because there are 'delicate' things inside, but then you use a hammer to smash open a piggy bank?? I'm sorry, what??)
I don't know, maybe the detective is just really stupid, but most of those solutions made no logical sense to me (as opposed to most games just like it). I didn't mind it at first, as it seemed kinda silly, but then it just became frustrating and kinda sucked the fun out. Bleh.
It's fun! Plus the main voice actor is from the older Nancy Drew games, which is awesome. Played on hard mode, and there are definitely times where I was scratching my head and then figured it out, so I expect detective mode would be even funner. Would recommend if you enjoy point and clicks - plus the music is soothing.
pros
- good looking graphics and character models
- puzzles and hidden object scenes mostly enjoyable
- Agatha Christie style murder story exciting and suspicious characters intriguing
- good background musics
- OK voice overs
- there is auto save
- hint system helpful
cons
- there are no steam achievements
- game doesn't drop cards.
- some frustrating puzzles which i directly skipped them.
- game is short
Good story, quite nice graphs, nice voice acting, quite short and easy puzzles. But the first one is way better then this.
The second game of Entwined series but not as good as the previous one in term of the length of the game, plot, and how rushed and straight forward everything was. The story about Adam Turner, a wealthy man who was murdered in his own house. You are a detective who starts with a list of suspects. Was it his young beautiful wife, or troubled neighbor, or could it be the maid or even the newspaper delivery boy, not forgetting his own sister or the Mafia leader who he's been having a war with him in the court. The game is fun to a degree, but then with the repetitive hidden objects scenes and the lack of map which require lots of backtracking.

The music is the same as the one from the previous game, even the quality of the artwork doesn't top the other game. I liked the journal, however, the detective evidence board and notes keep you engaged and wondering who really done it.

Puzzles were ok, none of them difficult, but I have an issue with the hidden objects scenes which you have to visit three times and the same items you picked before will still be there. This only shows how rushed or lazy the developers was. I didn't like this at all.

Pros:
+Intriguing investigation story.
+OK but dated artwork.
+OK music.
+OK voice overs.
+Variety of puzzles.
Cons:
-No map and fast traveling.
-No steam achievements.
-Repetitive hidden objects scenes. (You visit the same scene three times)
I still think the first one is way better than this one, but it is still playable. Get it if you run out of HOGs or wish to solve a murder mystery.

I enjoyed this simple game that took me 3 hours to complete. Kept you guessing!
Chilly, noice.
MUCH shorter than the first!
I was surprised, but it was obvious that the developers ran out of plot twists or maybe employees?
In any case, if one was to play straight through, it would only take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I took frequent breaks and took my time as well...
(The first game was about twice in length, and felt more satisfying and indeed , more challenging. )
I enjoyed,"The Perfect Murder" but felt so much more was probably intended, both in game play and plot.
It wrapped up
in an abrupt manner too....
So approach with caution...
