this is a very fun game with loads of cool aspects but could maybe have some more missons and unlockables when playing.maybe even some new secret tricks and gaps

A fun game that you can get good at easily. Lots of things to do so you will never get bored. You can play with friends as well.
I love this game, its a little hard at first to learn the controls and movements, but after you get the hang of that there are so many cool things you can do and it's really fun.
In the last 24 hours of purchasing this game I have logged 8 hours. I repeat: I've owned the game for 24 hours and played for 8. This game is the definition of "just one more run." Addicting, easy to learn, hard to master, and very rewarding.

im doing the riot tour and finished the siro track + no checkpoints + first person and finished it and all i got was the first person challenge
Game is fine, but the save feature is fucked. there's no option to select save file, which it randomly keeps deleting for no reason. Sometimes on normal launch, sometimes on reinstalling. it;s totally fucked, don't buy until the bug is fixed.
My favourite part about Descenders is all of the different bike parks. I'm not a fan of career mode as it's sorta repetitive and boring. I only played career mode to complete the grand challenge, which is basically quests to unlock a pink bike called missing texture (very ugly). There is another grand challenge for a specific collaboration map (riot). It's the best map I've played so far, and didn't take very long to complete all the challenges. Some people may like career mode more than freeride, but I definitely don't.
As a somewhat aging mountain biker this lets me live my dreams of the all the tricks I will never be able to do. The combination of well chosen controls that work well together, the beautiful graphics, immersive feel and great soundtrack make so an absolutely super addictive combination. I like the fact you are not just racing, you can go fast which is fantastic fun but you can also ride up to the jumps, take a look, and ride back to try again. This freedom to roam and play as you wish is wonderful. The physics of how you can slide and brake around corners, and how you can lose control feels very realistic and playable. And I've only been playing a few days.
I'm playing on a recent Mac Mini M2 Pro with 6 GPU cores. I'm not generally a game player and I run X-Plane. The levels on career mode an all amazingly fast with ~100 FPS, but some of the additional content in bike parks is quite variable in quality and some have artifacts and give an unplayable 10 FPS or flashing shadows. Clearly some optimisation has been missed. Possibly GPU memory has been exceeded? Also few mods run on the Mac. I don't think I've got a single mod to run. even one stated on working on Mac. As I bought the game on discount for £4.87 I can live with some aspects not working well, but just to give other Apple die-hards a warning. But I'd still recommend it for Mac game players. though you might something decent, as a high frame rate is essential.
I don't review games often but this is really a gem. I don't even like these sorts of games.
It is really fun to play. I often play it when I have a free couple of minutes or hours and I just want to chill and this game is it for me. It can get stressful sometimes when you try to complete something. But there is a lot of well crafted bike parks and maps that are so fun to ride on. It has much better physics than riders republic or similar games.
No microtransactions, loot boxes, or any other bs. Just a great game!

Such a great game. Pick up at full price if you can. It's worth it. You can just feel the passion and love for the game that the devs poured into this. It's so much fun to play - race down the track, do some stunts, crash horribly and try again. It also has a great soundtrack. The feeling playing this game gives me a lot of nostalgia for the Tony Hawk's era. I'll definitely buy Descenders Next too as soon as I can.

Its a great game but there are some bugs that are very annoying for example i cant scroll down between my bikes in the shed.
awesome game! love the tracks and modded tracks. Nice and relaxing but also brain numbing when i need something to take my mind off of things. Thanks for a great game
WHEEEE BACKFLIPSSSS! It's kinda like if that Tony Hawk downhill jam spinoff was mixed with Skate.
The "main" mode is a procedurally-generated series of downhill tracks. It has a bit of a learning curve (and is a bit punishing) as you only get 4 lives and it's quite easy to smack into a tree or misjudge a ramp.
However it does get in a great groove after about an hour or two of messing around.
The fun for me was finding the "Bike Parks" which are more open-ended maps that are carefully designed, Jump City and Stoker Bike Park are fantastic fun and also there is no lives limit when doing a bike park.
Landing a gigantic jump is very satisfying.

Another game that follows the great potential, horrible execution trend. Inconsistent physics, horrible map design, no party system for friends, and there are plenty of small nuisances like not being able to place your own waypoint/respawn location in an open world map that traps you in a repeating cycle of crashes with little hope to explore.
Played almost 200 hours on the GAME PASS version from Microsoft (PC and Xbox) -- Bought on Steam during a sale cause it's just that good and I wanted to experience it all over for the first time and OWN it just incase it ever leaves the GAME PASS.

Did not expect to like a biking game, but a 100 hours later and 10/10 would fuck again.

Gameplay wise, it's by far the best feeling bike game in general when using a controller. Dosen't have any glaring issues other than a steep learning curve - but it is well worth it.
Main complaint is that the cosmetics are hideous.
Descenders is a really fun game based on biking throughout different environments with their own challenges. It has many achievements ranging from easy to fun to challenging. The game also has a ranking system based on your reputation (points) that you earn from doing tricks while biking and allows you to compete with your friends or other people. Descenders has many cosmetics that look very good and do not need to be paid for. Descenders can be play for a long time and will make your money worth. So buy it.
great game i haven't played much on my PC but on my console i have over 100 + hours, its not story rich but its a fun collecting game or a achievement game where you just try to get all the achievements but over all once you've finished that there isn't much to do but i haven't done all of it yet but im really close do finishing it!

One of my favourite games of all time; with amazing replayability, amazing sound track, etc. Lots to love about this game :)
Probably one of the greatest games I own in my Steam library. The bikes control fantastic with a controller, and the skill ceiling with the mechanics is surprisingly high. The game is also just really fun.
There's the main career mode, with a nice selection of randomly generated tracks to get through and score as high as you can - or if you're good enough, beat it. There's the handcrafted incredibly well done bike parks that are fun to get through, and the challenge system that promotes finding the secrets in them. There's also the mod support, with a whole load of fun user created content.
There's no DLC, no microtransactions, no bullshit. It entirely relies on your skill as a player to progress through the game.
Sound design is great, graphics are okay, the physics engine mostly works fine but does have some bugs that can get frustrating. Unfortunately, the algorithm used to build tracks and objectives is not yet in a production ready state, as tracks can glitch into objects or other parts of the track and objects are often not completable on the track where they are drawn (e.g. completing a "mini-boss jump" on a track that doesn't even feature any jumps or finishing an extremely steep and curvy track without letting go of acceleration). Additionally, "boss-jumps" occasionally spawn after a flat area with can make them impossible to complete, as for most "boss-jumps", higher speeds are needed. Also, whatever system tracks objectives is kinda broken, as you can somehow finish objectives like "Finish without breaking" before reaching the end of the track and some objectives like completing "boss-jumps" with specific stunts sometimes either don't count despite completing them, or still count upon failure. Lastly, it's hilarious to see how this game fails at determining whether a landing was "clean" or not, as I even managed to get a "clean" landing that was hard enough to kill my driver. With that being said, I wouldn't yet recommend this game to anyone, however, potential is there and if the above issues are addressed and fixed in the future, it might actually end up being a really good game

Having a mild interest in mountain biking, I was looking to see if there were any games about it.
I stumbled upon the Descenders – the game was on sale.
After reading some reviews, I didn’t have high expectations and was simply hoping for at least a few hours of fun.
It didn’t seem to be my type of game, as I prefer story-rich RPGs, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Mass Effect.
And here I am writing this review after 136 hours and 100% achievements (my first Perfect game, never cared about the achievements so much). :D
This game is addictive, easy to learn but hard to master, and offers a highly rewarding sense of progression. The levels are procedurally generated; therefore, even if you become familiar with different regions, you can never predict where the next turn will lead. It keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting.
The gameplay is a perfect mix of fun and realism. Yes, eventually, you will be jumping through fire rings, riding mega ramps, riding at incredible speeds, leaping from helicopters, and performing tricks that are impossible in real life. However, the riding still feels realistic, responsive, and satisfying, with mechanics such as pumping and counter-pumping that you will gradually learn.
Additionally, it offers a relaxing experience — when you are short on time or do not feel like engaging in a serious game, you can simply opt for a quick career session or a freeride.
The graphics are surprisingly nice for such a game and each of the levels has unique feel.
Recommended!

Controller doesn't work anymore, worked when I played a while ago. Tried several controllers, tried big picture mode, I have no "weird controller plugins". Maybe my review doesn't count because I can't get my controller to work. But the game sucks without it. Sorry.
The mechanics in this game are easy to learn but hard to master. You will struggle in the forest for a while and landing big jumps can be tough but when you do land them or begin to get the "feel" for bombing down the narrow winding paths getting near miss after near miss, you'll get that feeling of satisfaction most other games never quite land. There is still some jank here and there and the map gen has some really unfair spawns sometimes but for me game play is king and this game has it. One of the best extreme sports games there is currently.
Meh, physics is not good at all. It is a arcade-ish ride game that is fun but don't do in there thinking it is somewhat a simulation game. I don't mind bad graphism and artistic direction but i would have prefer a simulation bike game with nice tricks to do. It's not a bad game if you are looking for arcade though so i'll still recommend it but for me it is a refund.
This Is great I have little problems. The problems I have is the fact that i can't play with my PC friend we used to play together all the time and now Apple severs are a thing.
xbox controller doesn't work at all on silicon m2 mac. tried every combination of options to fix it. no solution found online for problem.
the best MTB game i ever play with insanely good replayability
So absolutely fun and much more expansive than I thought. Runs really well on my old mac laptop, even with bloom, motion blur, and shadows. Some maps can be quite laggy, but that's fine with me because of how great the game is

Best MTB game of all time, can be challenging at first but as you find the flow to lines the game only gets better. With recent totally free updates including courses that make you feel like you're up at Whistler or sending lines at Rampage I could not recommend this game more. Easily my favorite of ALL TIME!!!
Great game.. but no Nacon controller support. Which makes it unplayable for me. If they fix this I will gladly change this review
