favorite fighting game rn because i cant afford sparking zero, but seriously every character is behind a paywall
I LOVE THIS GAME!! I like it because it's amazing for players that play side by side fighting games, and I would highly recommend this to people that play games like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, or other games with that format. Especially if you are a Dragon Ball fan. This was very cheap to buy because of the 2024 winter sale. The second I bought it, I knew this was gonna be my favorite game. And it is now. Highly recommended!
Best dragon ball fighting game ever.
The gameplay is great and the graphics literally could not be any better.
Super good it's just a massive shame that a bunch of the better characters are DLC. That's not enough to outright ruin the game for me but i could see it doing that for others
anti-cheat blocks you from playing on linux even though it could run flawlessly otherwise
i bought the game before i started using linux and it was cheap but the practice of arbitrarily blocking linux users is still shitty
I like the game, but I'd appreciate if they were to make it so you can change the keyboard keybinds in-game outside of the lobby.
Pretty fun, I like the game I just hope soon those Console buttons turn into the keybinds I use for keyboard, other than that I recommend!

Personal best fighting game of all time, stylistically I don't think any game in the future can beat FighterZ in terms of replicating dragon ball style. If you love MvC3 or any of the Marvel Vs. Capcom games you will love this, the controls are very similar and I personally enjoy this game more.
Retarded unplayable game where PvP is impossible because first player to accidentally sneeze gets locked in a 60-hit giga-combo of death and PvE is unplayable because the bots take 3 times less damage than you do and they gain 1 ki bar for every light attack you actually manage to land. Don't buy this nonsense unless you already have 1000 hours in every fighting game ever created (And yes, I know I suck but I don't want to play a game where I have to study every possible combo and practice each one for 5 hours individually and if you don't want to either than stay away from this "game".)
Super fun!! I don't like that you have to buy more characters. Should be playable if you complete harder levels in arcade mode.
This game has a decent amount of complexity, and the input timings are tight enough to present a challenge. At the same time, it's not so front-loaded that it's hard for newcomers. This is my first traditional fighting game as a Tenkaichi 3 boy. Xenoverse and Sparking Zero don't tickle me, but FighterZ avoids the sense of shallowness that comes from Xenoverse's lack of major variation, and Sparking Zero's balancing being clearly rushed out a year early.
game kept me alive for 5 years and now i migrate to PC for mods; this game is a godsend
Good game. Got it for the campaign, stayed because hard mode campaign won't let me leave.

At least I didn't get 93 tutorials shoved in my face from the instant I opened the game, like another fighting game *cough* Type Lumina *cough*.
In Conclusion,
Dragon Ball FighterZ suffers from a problem. The Story Mode is a waste of time. In counterpoint, the Arcade Mode and Ranked Modes are fantastic. Use Boot Camp to learn the basics, refine them in Arcade mode, and jump into Ranked Mode. Don't worry about losing, but focus on learning from the opponent, then practice against the Computer in the Arcade. Choose which characters appeals. Though half of the characters are locked behind a paywall, those that are available offer a diversity of moves and combos.

Its wonderful and the graphics is top tier.
Literally unplayable at any lower level. Get fucked by infinite combos that you have no way of escaping while the screen flashes, almost taunting you for not spending 5,000 hours on the game and gaining 400 lbs for the sake of being good.

Could have been a great game but half the roster is behind a paywall. Fighting games need to quit doing that or people like me aren't going to play them anymore.

If you want something arcade-y with good plot, get Sparking Zero.
If you want in depth gameplay that you'll spend hundreds of hours, play this

Its a really great and enjoyable game. The mechanics in each character are unique it takes time to learn the combos of each character, the game is fit for competitive people, The story is just alright nothing much, I really love the 2D art style of the game, Is really looks like it copied and pasted the anime show's art style. I've heard that they are comparing Sparking Zero to Dragon ball FightherZ, Both are great but I much prefer Dragon ball FighterZ. I hope they can remake the beam clashes and add more characters. The only problem is that there are not much players nowadays. But overall I really recomend this game.

after over 7 years, this game is still the best DBZ title on the market, despite the minor hiccups it has (steam version has that stupid graphics bug that you can fix along with that last patch where it made everyone "broken"). Just a shame that it doesnt receive the constant updates like Xenoverse 2 or Kakarot. I get it, arcsys has alot on their plate with their own titles but leaving fighterz as is with no future season updates based on super heroes or daima is basically money on the table. that and the fighting community loves this game

Great game, if you like dbfz and you like fighting games pick it up. this game can run on even the most trash pc. into 2024 there's still a pretty active community online. Wish they would bring back raids.
the single player experience isn't too bad.
Its okay, but im done with this one within 20 hours.
there´s not a lot to the combo´s etc, so its really easy to remember.
However, it feels to me like thats all there is that it had to offer.
There´s an Online-mode and single-player story-ish mode.
(im not going to finish it becouse sadly enough, ´ve gotten bored with the game)
In my oppinion, not worth the full price at all, but if you are heavly focussed on online 2d battles, then maybe when its on a discount.

This game had potential back in its prime. The game looks fun when watching tournaments and whatnot. Then u hop on the game and u have the most uninteractive fight of all time because every player only runs until assists come up. Idk how yall waste so much time in the lab just to not fight but this game is boo boo for that reason alone. No fighting in the fighting game is ass.

I mean it's okay-ish, it was my first major fighting game. The online is absolutely HORRENDOUS though like chances are they'll be no one and if there is somehow someone in ranked/online, chances are they'll most likely be abusing meta/fusion/dlc characters. I know the goal of the game is to like, win, but I didn't think majority would be playing them just to get the advantage, instead of playing the characters because you like them. And the actual meta of this game ( all my data is based on prior to the latest patch they had) such as Android 21 Lab Coat or the fusions feel so bullshit that I barely feel like I'm playing a fighting game and moreso a game of guessing between which meta's bnb do you have to watch out for. Because in my experience of getting to 520,000 BP, nearly EVERY match was just me against the broken dlc characters and getting hit by the same bnb over and over again. Half of them didn't even know how to block LOW!! The only time this game ever felt fun or fair was when I wasn't against them, and that was almost NEVER.
If you're just playing with friends and not aiming to go for ranked, I'd say this is a game worth buying on sale. NEVER buy this game on it's base price it's basically a scam in comparison to how much it is on sale usually.
If you're planning on finding an actual fighting game, this might be okay but do note the meta reliance and absolutely horrid online experience. Oh and also not being able to play local keyboard and controller 2 player?? The games been out for so long, FIX THIS!!!
Oh and also this game is insanely beginner friendly so if you want a good grasp on fighting games or want to start on them this would probably be a good game for you to start on. Thanks to this game I've been able to get a better insight on fighting games and how to play them!!
High quality fighting game made by Arc System Works. More character, style, and depth than what you get from developer Spike Chunsoft in Sparking Zero.
Once you truly understand the gameplay and master the movesets, something amazing happens. For everybattle you put in, you start to gain a fragment of what feels like Ultra Instinct within yourself. Facing off against others who’ve unlocked this “power” online pushes you to evolve even further, reaching higher levels each time you go up against a stronger opponent.
That’s when you realize: this isn’t just a fighting game. It’s the perfect fighting game, one that draws you in like a moth to the moon, challenging you to constantly improve and embrace the grind.
I know that Dragon Ball Z is supposed to have spectacular and flashy fights, but man, I feel like this game plays me, not the other way around.
Its great to play, the story mode isn't great though. Everyone seems to be crying over it being P2W but they are just bad, you can clap with Goku Black who isn't even black, like wtf bro why is he called that?
A very good game overall, would have been better if they added more characters to the game to keep it alive even longer.
Summary:
3v3 fighting ala Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3 streamlined and tuned for DBZ characters and stories. Well balanced team-based combat that rewards combinations and investing the time to learn character interactions. A good fighting game in an ocean of a genre, nothing spectacular, but not bad by any means.
Pros:
- Good combat system: easy to learn, hard to master
- Variety of online modes
- Unique story-mode approach
Cons:
- Sparking Zero exists now
Overall:
While this game is great as a fighting game in a particularly stacked genre, it doesn't stand out with the needed polish and value that would elevate it to 'classic' status. The game itself is fine, and takes some interesting approaches to concepts standard to the genre, but fails to set itself apart from other games from the same time period.

A great fighting game and in its best state in a long time as of Patch 1.38! If you didn't know, Rollback is here, most supers are frame 4 invulnerable, Special Moves are now super dash AND Super Move cancelable in Sparking.
overall this game is very fun right now, it just needs the player base to come back!
Excellent and easy to learn for my friends. Things get competitive very quickly.
