Airport Simulator 2019 places you as the manager of a major international airport. Your duties range from planning and allocating personnel to procuring and maintaining a vehicle fleet, facility maintenance and handling ever larger aircraft from a variety of airlines. Gradually, you will earn experience and your airport will grow. This new knowledge means you can handle new runways and gates will be added, and larger planes will arrive.
You will do all the work yourself in the beginning, although you can train staff to do certain jobs for you. Fueling, positioning jetways, managing baggage wagons, security, busses, or fire fighters – keep a watchful eye on everything to keep operations at peak performance as it is complexity running a smoothly functioning airport.

What a brilliant play loop. Once you have the equipment needed and staff employed (24), you can micro manage everything and watch your account rise.
There is a fair amount of grinding to start, but that is expected of this type of simulator.
I like to jump in to the roles from time to time just to help out, but do enjoy watching my workers doing all the tasks.
If you like repetitive menial tasks and watching others do your work then this can be fun.
The driving can be a little sharp, but you adapt pretty quickly.
I have only just picked this up, so am late to the party,. Have really enjoyed the play loop and the graphics are good..
And you get to see planes take off and land...
Not to bad of a game but needs more updating to be a good game. Found numerous bugs. If you you can overlook the bugs them could be a fun game for you. A few more options would be nice too.
Don't ever buy this game, not even on sale. 2023 and the achievements are still bugged out so you cant get them all.
This otherwise nice little Airport (ground pounder) Simulation game is still broken/buggy since the last Update 2018 12 27, dated Dec 27, 2018. The last words written in Community Discussion by the dev/Toplitz Productions representative bk_Toplitz (Developer) were "...aware of bugs and working on it..." posted Jun 4, 2018 @ 7:20 am. Last time I checked, bk_Toplitz (Developer/fake title:should read representative of the publisher doing little support jobs) is still with Toplitz Productions keeping customers calm and trying to be helpful/fielding flak in Community Discussion of their most lucrative and successful game title.
In my opinion, this review belongs to the games publisher and not so much with the developer, who has no real control over the destiny of their game, because the publishers are the one who control the purse strings, admittedly as it should be in the business world. Sadly, though very playable up to a point, the playing customer can not achieve the games goals because the game was abandoned. In Airport Simulator 2019's current condition, there is no way that it is anywhere close to being worth $19.99. So buyer beware! I purchased this game in a very temporary window of reduced price for $4.99. Also, noted that the community discussion board has been inactive, like a ghost town, for a long, long time.
For me, I got my moneys worth having a little bit of fun. I have purchased many other game titles here in Steam, from Toplitz Productions, one of them is still amazing, but all the rest of the titles are now unsupported and dead. Toplitz official representatives, regarding some of their games, try their very best (TP really does have some amazing PR people) to appease and sooth customers that are so endearingly hopeful, for a little game patch, or a new version release of their most loved game. Sad, but true, the gaming industry is a business, and not a work of charity. Money drives success for them. If you love the game you are playing, then you have to financially chip in to the publisher/developers bottom line. That's why I've bought games from this publisher that Iv'e never actually played. I do realize, that so many players have an extremely limited amount of expendable income. For you, I can only say, keep plugging away, and enjoy what you can, when you can, and while you can. Life's to short to do otherwise. ~ A happy gamer, but I can not recommend this game unless the publisher releases more resources in to making it right, all the way to a successful conclusion.
This game literally has a screen tear every like 5 seconds, it breaks around every bend, and I've tried playing it three times and every time my baggage truck disappears randomly.
The game is great if your looking for something that wont take long to do, a quick game. However, the graphics aren't really good. The vehicles are plastic, paper. They have no interiors whatsoever, and aren't really glamorous. This game has so much potential but does not reach it.
I don't play this game very often as there are big competitors out there like Airport CEO.

So, I picked this up because I love planes.. I love airports.. I just love aviation in general. That being said, if you want a paperweight of a game, this is probably the one. Cute at first, a neat little niche game. But then, it turns into a grind. A same thing, day after day, trying to get enough experience to level up to get the "Level 10" achievement and the most flights available in a single day. Think of the worst grinding you have ever done. And then take imagine you run such a tight ship that nothing can go wrong - no random chances, no random events.. a grind of the exact same thing over and over and over. It was terrible. But, if you want to take a look at it - don't expect more than a few hours of decent game play.
Also! Achievement Hunters! Don't pick this one up - there is a broken achievement, "On the Job Training". Max your employee skill levels. ... The employees cap at level 10, with only 9 skill points available in a skill table that can hold 15. The math is that bad, folks.
Quick and easy to play game. AI vehicles get themselves jammed, tasks are repetitive and occasionally bug out.
Any of you have that one game you play late into the night when you're bored and too tired to be entertained by anything normal? AS19 is that game for me. I still am unsure why I find it enjoyable after 43+ hours, but there it is. I have literally sat up all night playing this three times lol.
I think what you need to do with this game is *not* play it as designed, and then it becomes good. The majority of my hours have been logged running in control tower mode and letting the AI run my vehicles - I play this like a logistics simulator, running only one set of vehicles and jamming flights back to back in an effort to fail jobs as at this point I have millions of dollars and really can't lose. It's just...weirdly satisfying actually losing sometimes.
Yes, there are bugs. AS19 deserves lots of the hate it gets, mainly due to jet bridges which slam into invisible walls and never serve your flights, rendering full manual control of higher-paying jobs impossible. Vehicle conditions degrade through use or even just being left outside and cannot be repaired - you can send them to the garage which claims to service them but it does not. But even with these issues, I still like it. You might as well, just be sure and wait for a sale as these developers have a nasty habit of abandoning poorly performing titles early.
Terrible game Drive from garage to plane and then back to garage and so on I can also hire helpers and to make it even worse I am stuck in the garage I am not positioned in the control tower like Airport simulator 2013 and 2015 so I cant see anything happening it is incredibly boring.
1st of I will say, I'm going to keep the game. While the bad reviews are valid, I don't agree with them. This is a simple task game. Think a typical Game House old school Diner Dash type game. Except, in this case, the food is the bus and various other airport support vehicles. Once you understand that and don't pay full price (buy during a sale) I think you will enjoy this game. My view is to hire personal and equipment so you don't need to do them yourself. That's where the game lacks. It's clear to me that the player doing a task is not the goal and as such when driving vehicles the controls are horrible. To get around this what I did, don't take any planes to manage and hire staff then fast forward to the day that you will have at least 2 truck drives and one engineer. It takes a few game days for hired staff to show up similar to real-life you don't hire a person then they start the same day. The period before you have staff is pretty bad. If you buy it and want to try it before your time runs out on possible return, skip the tutorial, hire two truck drivers and an engineer don't take any planes to manage then, click next day until you have a full staff. Then play the game. The game then becomes a decent sim to manage the support of an airport. The one true downside is that no matter what video settings I use there is an occasional frame rate drop, this isn't an issue if you are not driving. But as I mentioned before you shouldn't drive anyway.

Several hours in now, and startng to hit a few major bugs that prevent flights completing. Would advise against buying for now.

So an hour in, I'm deciding to stick with the game and pass refund time on it. While it's another simulator, it's not UIG and another cynical money grab, I can see the developers are genuinely trying to do something here, and I support that. They're active too.
The game is a bit basic and the AI is...special, but it's a worthwhile attempt to do something new with the genre.
this game is like they had a great idea to start with, then lost their interest and went on to something else. A lot of the things in this game are done really nice, and that would want me to give it a recommendation, but they released it as finished while it's full of bugs, so I cannot.
Also you're not really running an airport, but more like the services that you can give to a plane, so don't be fooled by the title.
The things I do like:
- If I consider this to be a game with a correct name (airport staff sim or something), then they did implement several things to do. Though on an airport some things are run by other companies, but let that be a detail we can ignore in a game.
- There is a certain amount of detail in the game. not too heavy on the pc, but still a decent viewingdistance. The kilometercounter works, though 100 m counts as one kilometer, but again, it's a game, at least it's there and it works.
- you kinda manage your staff... kinda
- you can refuel your vehicles (not really something special, but read below and you see why I put it here)
things I didn't like:
- the bugs... sooooo many bugs.
- whenever you start driving a vehicle yourself, there is a huge chance one of the lights on your dashboard lits up (so it needs maintenance), and when you do bring it in, they can't repair it.
- the firetruck can never be repaired for some reason.
- the airplane pusher (forgot the name) almost always cancels, even if it did push the plane back.
- on the bigger planes several tasks are listed double, and if you select a vehicle for both of them, then things might go wrong, if you only select one, don't sweat it, it will get completed along with the other.
- no challenge. really, none at all. staff is cheap, vehicles you just rent and for arounf $200 per month (one flight earns you at least 2000). Some staff is recommended... but no difference with unrecommended staff.
- sometimes for some reason my vehicle did a cunning stunt for no reason... but worked fine after that.
- if you don't do anything on a flight you get fined... no really, you do... like maybe 5000 or so? if it's even that high.
- you don't need to follow the road. offroad is just as fine as cutting off other vehicles, taking shortcuts. the airport security is kinda relaxing.
- there is never a new vehicle for sale... ever. only vehicles in excellent shape, but they have over 100000 km on the counter... and the shape doesn't matter, they break down almost all the same, especially when you drive it yourself.
all together, if you have money and time to spare, feel free to waste it, if not, then stay away from this title.
The game is a great idea but with terrible execution. The game is very buggy and feels like just another cash grab. There is no difficulty to the game, and very little content. It is a game that "has no end" but can be completed in a few hours. The game has a big map but it is mostly just empty space. The game should have been released as Early Access. Don't even get me started on the physics. Vehicles will randomly get stuck in other objects and sometime randomly spaz out and fly across the map or slowly start to levitate. The AI in the game is awfull and it is very basic. Overall I belive that the game should still be in alpha. I would recomend only playing for 2 hours then get a refund through steam.
I played for 30 minutes and, like everyone else says, you literally go point a to point b. Its incredibly boring and repetitive. I'm not sure theres a way to improve this game... Its really boring. I refunded it.
I last played this game in 2014 and in 5 odd years you would think a game would have progressed but you would be wrong. This is basically a game where you mainly drive from point A to point B and back with graphics and gameplay from years gone by.
From the moment you start the game with a boring UI and title screen you know you are in for a bad time.
Graphically its TERRIBLE , the cars and stuff just have full blacked out windows and you can’t see inside, same with the airplanes. The models in every way are low detailed and look horrendous. Sound design is subpar too, I wanted to hear airplanes taking off etc but nope and all the vehicles sound terrible.
The gameplay is dull, and I mean this is boring. Also, there is NO penalty for driving like an idiot you can crash and skip across runways with no penalty at ALL. Like in a simulator game you expect to be punished for going against the rules. The tasks are obviously very repetitive too with no extra animations like passenger’s getting on and off planes etc. which would have been nice to see.
As for the controls are passable but not by much with AI that for some reason stops when it passes you as they think they will hit you.
This is just terrible, it’s not a simulation at all its the barebones of a game that is rubbish don't touch this at all. You can also click one button and complete all the tasks automatically so yeah you can skip the bad gameplay if you want!

If you want to play a game where your objective mainly consists of driving from point A to point B, some times in impossibly slow vehicles, then this is the game for you.
Firstly, there does not seem to be any penalty for driving like an absolute idiot. The waypoint system has a tendency to show you the safe route, but this is the slow route. So why not cut across a some fields and drive across a taxiway. In real life road safety on an airport is paramount and there are super strict rules against veering even slightly off course or speeding. For a simulator game that consists mostly of driving, this seemed like a great opportunity of having some airport cop up your butt as soon as you decided not to go around the fuel depot, but through it instead.
As for the tasks. It's literally: Get a task, get in a car, drive the car to the destination, wait for the bags/passengers/fuel to load, then drive back. At the end of the day, you are highly reccomended to drive all your vehicles back to the garage to avoid wear. (I didn't do this once and suddenly all my vehicles went "critical service status".. oops.) But I simply didn't do it because it was SO BORING. It was just another excuse to force me to drive another mundane drive through the same mundane airport layout you've driven through 30 times even after just 30 minutes in game.
The driving controls are sub par. The AI is stupid and the cruise control is... well let's just say temperamental. There's no way of knowing if you've actually enabled the cruise control, until your car suddenly just starts braking after a few seconds, or you continue on your way. As for the AI. They seem to just go along some strings, making mostly sure they don't crash into anything. Even driving on a road with the baggage car, and an AI coming towards you, they'll just stop in the middle of the street in the lane next to you because they're afraid they might hit you.
And yes, you get to hire workers, and manage your vehicles etc. but... that's not a simulator game. The only simulation in this game is driving. And there are plenty of games that do that better. This is more like a tycoon game where you're forced to do all the boring stuff yourself to earn enough money to start tycooning.
But all this could have been forgiven if they'd actually put some interesting mechanics into the game. I've read that previous versions of this series have had minigames with tasks... why is this gone? Why do I just get a fade out when I reach the plane with my fuel truck? Why can't I get out of the truck, grab my hose, find the fuel intake, unscrew that and fit the hose. Then head back to the truck and make sure I fill up the plane with the correct amount of fuel requested by the pilot, at the correct mixture? THAT'S SIMULATION, not this crap.
This game is terrible! Stupid AI, flights are not finishing properly, vehicles are possessed, a lot of bugs, boring, workers doesn't know what to do with their vehicles. Do not buy this sh***t!

Its literally repeat and repeating the manual driving every "day" in the game, I cannot really enjoy in the simulation.
AI controlled vehicles are not very smart and buggy, they always crash together and you can drive as free as you like in the airport, its ridiculous.
Honestly super boring. You drive from point A to point B in a vehicle of your choosing. Rinse and repeat. ResidentSleeper
