Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition

It takes a bit of learning, but I really do love flying around in MSFS X. Thankfully it'll run well on basically any modern PC too.

Its nice simulator but many things antivirus detects as danger for some reason

I like this flight simulator. I want to upgrade but Microsoft wants a lot of money.

Because all males need to know how to fly and land a plane in case of an emergency so they can safely land whatever plane they're on on whatever airport they have to land on, and save everyone. Its your duty!

It has the best type of nostalgia in it and it aged very well

Don't buy this game, it doesn't work anymore. And there's no update for years, it's basically abandoned.

Frustrating overall.
The launcher is hard to read on high-res screens.
Unlike in MSFS 2020, pulling the mixture control knob only changes the % display without moving the knob.
Sometimes I can’t look down until I restart.

Game is fun, but certain aspects don't work properly, even on a new laptop with an upgraded graphics card. Certain missions crash when you play them, and I've had a few IFR flight plans loaded that causes the game to crash halfway through the flight. Overall it's fun, but definitely buggy.

fun hard to learn

I like to pretend I can fly things. It's also fun to fly over "where I live". It's not rendered very well, but I have a monkey brain and I can't control these planes for crap.

It's a good game because the helicopters and small planes I fly on it are realistic -based on my own real world experience flying Cessna 172. It is an older game I play on an older backup computer I use for flying until acquiring an new computer to use MS flight sim 2024 for the latest graphic scenery details. This version 2013 has limited graphics but has helped me to learn to fly helicopters. By the time I get the 2024 game I might be able to fly some advanced challenges. Nevertheless, this 2013 is still highly valued, as is Steam support!

Really good flight simulator, you're not going to get amazing graphics compared to the new ones but all the aircraft work, missions are enjoyable, and it'll run on pretty much any modern computer.

It's not the latest, but it is still great. I've been playing FS regularly since 1990, but for newcomers I'd first suggest a joystick. The Logitech Extreme 3D is great value and lets you use the rudder. If you become an enthusiast you'll know what you'd like next. Step two is customizing your controller of choice the way you like it. After that, enjoy! If you're a seasoned pilot the customization and learning a few keystrokes will suffice to start having fun. If you're a newcomer, the game has a good flight school to get you going. I've spent a very many very fun hours on this version of FS, and still call it up when the new version falls short. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Good version of FS to learn the basics of flying. Works on most computers and although the scenery is a bit limited compared to later versions it is not so different to some of the commercial training flight simulators I have tried.

A very user friendly platform. However, it is a temperamental program that does not always work well with 3rd party software.

great starting point for aviation enthusiasts. adequate tutorials. wide range of aircraft but specific aircraft not included eg dash 8 Q400 or 747 etc. old gen aircraft

Apart from the fact that you can't actually crash your plane and watch it explode into bits, pretty good. Decent alternative to MSFS and impressive graphics for a game made in 2006

I love this game the graphics are not to bad but if you want better graphics go into settings and its really fun

For a Novice aviation enthusiast just loves the idea of being a pilot to doing the real thing. I've enjoyed this game for years and am still learning all the little details of flying a plane.

Only runs on Windows. All they had to do was write it in Java for a cross-platform game. Tried it on three computers so far and it doesn't work. Have to buy a lot of expensive flight control accessories.

This game installs, what seems to be, a windows XP emulator which is very unresponsive. If you want a flight sim, don't get this, save your pennies and get a more recent version. Glad I only spent 4 quid on it. It's really not very good at all.

This is more of a feeling than a game, as of now my PC can only run FSX, Soon I will run the latest Flight sims from Microsoft and other high end-games. Cheers!!

I don't have the coveted nerd hardware for flight sims, or the attention span to keep an aircraft in flight, BUT THIS GAME CRASHES MORE THAN I DO!
Get the 2020 one, I guess.

first i would check for enough space it will still download with not enough space BUT it will be hard to open and it will kick you out at rAnDOm times if that happen you need to uninstall IN STEAM and install again it should work then.

DO NOT BUY (Unless its like 90% off and you like retro games). As much as this is a nice Flight Simulator... its just... old. Buy something else for $30 (not to mention the $60 you have to spend to make this game work properly with the ad-ons).

This progrm works well on older computers and not very powerful graphics cards. the aircraft response is very good and can be very challenging when flying in real weather or stormy weather.

You will never complete Flight Training courses without this app.
Time, finance, circumstance work against you.
Do all intensive, Focus Training Programs if you want a license.
