ZIMZONOWICZ [real name: Łukasz Samsonowicz]
Born in 1983 in Lubsko in Poland, obtained Masters in Fine Art in 2007. Comic artist, illustrator, painter and graphic designer. I find inspiration in every day life. I like horror and science fiction movies, comics, music hardcore punk and rock'n'roll.

I appreciate the artistic effort put into this game. The texture overlays are great, but I was sorely disappointed by actual gameplay in this. I gave it a chance and was completely put off by the combat in this 'point and click adventure' - the first boss would deal damage before any animation. There's hitbox issues and a few bugs. I wanted to like this game. I tried. I really tried.
The game captivated me with graphic style and theme that reminds me of Judge Dredd. Unlike traditional adventure games, here the controls need to be mastered -- the opponents' hitboxes are small and the character reacts instantly to each click.
Quirky game with clearly quite a bit of time put into the environments and aesthetic, but the gameplay itself falls short. Large emphasis on combat which ultimately consists of mashing LMB and RMB. Dialogue and narrative swings between somewhat funny and downright cringy at times.
Some laughs to be had, as the overall presentation is really whacky and ridiculous, but ultimately not a game I can recommend.

Alter Cosmos is not a very good point&click adventure, at least as far as the gameplay goes. Overall, it lacks polish in almost every aspect, numerous glitches when it comes to UI and click detection. Why do I recommend it? Well, I think the art style and the story are compelling enough to purchase it, plus the price is not particularly high. The comic book style makes it stand out in the genre, the backgrounds are very detailed and there are many cutscenes with text choices, kind of reminds me of CyberFrog in terms of aesthetic. I really like the mature tone of this game, it has plenty of dark humor, occasional gore, and some dirty posters. You play as the AlienCat, a cyborg-cat that is now a fugitive, to be honest, I don't know what to make of it.
Unfortunately, it has a combat system which is like always a bad sign in this genre. The combat kinda sucks, it does not add anything interesting to the game aside from clunky mechanics. Perhaps the developer should add some kind of impact and collision system, otherwise, the enemies tend to walk on top of you. Apparently, it has some sort of combo system, I am not entirely sure how to use it. If you hold space you can see interactive areas, and if you scroll the mouse-wheel you can quickly open the inventory. I would like to see the room exits when you hold space as well, sometimes it is hard to see an entrance to the next area. Also, the developer should map the weapons to hotkeys (1,2,3 etc), it would make my life a bit easier. I must give a warning in regards to puzzles, it has a surprising amount of those sequence minigames that everyone loves so much, you know, moving squares and turning valves.
Pros:

Cons:
- somewhat glitchy
- combat is clunky
- subpar UI
- many annoying minigame puzzles
- hitbox problems/pathing problems
Overall Thoughts: 6/10
I am usually pretty harsh on games that cannot get the basic UI correctly (hence a relatively poor score), but I think that Alter Cosmos is potentially fun. If you can ignore its lack of polish, there is a very stylish and ridiculous adventure game. I guess I would describe as a guilty pleasure more than anything else.

What a great surprise of a game! We're really enjoying it so far and recommend it.
Alter Cosmos is, first and foremost, a point and click adventure game with occasional combat (via clicking as well). Historically point and click adventures can have some pretty obtuse puzzles, and there are occasional moments like that in Alter Cosmos where you have to do your share of pixel hunting to find items hidden away in the background/foreground, but for the most part we found ourselves cruising through the puzzles.
There's also a feature to the puzzle-solving mechanic that we REALLY appreciated. When you have an item selected in your inventory, the game just knows to try to use that item wherever you click. This is so much more streamlined than the typical point and click situation where you have to click your item then click where you want to try to use it.
Combat is a little wonky and involves feverishly clicking on your targets to wail on them with your claws, boots, and tail. If you have a gun, same deal. You run up and wildly fire until they're dead.
The bizarre part is Aliencat (your character), even if you have a ranged weapon equipped, will still run up to the bad guys at point blank range and fire away from that distance. It's really jarring at first and negates the point of having a ranged weapon, but ultimately we haven't run into a situation where this is detrimental, as bizarre as it is. Enemy AI is also mindless and a lot of brawls boil down to repeatedly juking your enemy while whittling down their health.
Graphically, Alter Cosmos NAILS the comic book feel. Every character and every piece of art looks beautifully drawn and really sets the tone for the game world.
The soundtrack is minimal but effective, getting the point across of the totalitarian world.
Overall, the game feels loaded with charm and we've enjoyed playing a classic point and click adventure with some modern amenities thrown in alongside some great art.
