Armed with nothing but a guide book, you and your teammates must collaborate and tackle intricate puzzles to launch rockets in this exhilaratingly stressful co-operative game. Not for the faint of heart, teamwork and communication are your keys to success!
Assemble your team however you like and work together to launch the rockets. The campaign has various missions designed to be played by 2 to 5+ people effectively. Missions cover a wide variety of launch procedures from pre-launch through to lift-off, flight and orbit. There are different puzzles for different missions at different stages of a launch.
The 130+ page guide book can be downloaded for free by your teammates (at rocket.guide) and includes instructions and other cryptic details for all of the puzzles in the game.
This game is hard. Super hard, in fact. The challenge is in knowing what to do and being able to actually perform the operation on time. Communicating with your teammates, learning iteratively, and quick thinking under pressure are all key. We believe in you.
Other features include:
- Local co-operating gaming (only one person in the group needs to buy in order to play).
- 20 mission campaign consisting of dynamically generated puzzles and 130+ page guide.
- Tutorial video to assist you in getting up to speed.
- Arguably a stress test of friendship.
In 2024 we released “ROCKETS ARE SUPER HARD: RELAUNCH”: a free major update to the game. Here’s a breakdown of what’s included:
- A complete visual overhaul of the entire game end to end. Launch those rockets in style with a higher, shinier fidelity!
- We’ve polished and consolidated our core campaign into 20 missions spanning a range of difficulties.
- A new tutorial video to help get your party started.
- Epic remastered music. Soundtrack that stress.
- Brand new sound effects and voiceover.

I was really looking forward to this one because I loved Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. After several failed attempts to launch the rocket, me and my friend finally figured out how to do it. We started making progress, and then the rocket exploded. The error message read something to the effect of "Input given: 5. Input should have been: 5".
That's when we gave up.
EDIT: I feel like I should give more constructive feedback if the devs happen to be reading reviews.
It wasn't just that a bug caused us to fail even when we did everything right. It was that getting to that point was more often frustrating than fun. It all comes down to the instruction manual that the "helpers" are reading. It's dense, vague, and gives almost no indication as to what diagrams correspond to on-screen systems.
Some sections are even just poorly formatted - for example, the page that tells you what buttons to press depending on the error code readout doesn't list all the possible error codes for a corresponding button in a nice bulleted list, but rather in a single block of text written like so: "OPTION 1 or OPTION 2 or OPTION 3 or OPTION 4", but like with twenty different options, which is incredibly difficult to read, especially under time pressure.
The core challenge of Keep Talking was *communication*. The manual was easy to read, but understanding the description of a module from the defuser and clearly communicating the solution back was the trick. Here, you have that challenge, but you also have to decipher an enormous and cryptic manual, which just makes it impossible.
Keep Talking was a fun party game that anyone could pick up and enjoy a few rounds. Rockets is a game you have to devote time to learning, and that feels antithetical to the fun of this genre.
The manual is wayyyyy too long. The rocket wanted input 5, and I input 5. Still exploded.
bugged inputs, and no higher resolution than FHD, a lot of work left on the new version, the earlier was way less bugged than relaunch, still great potential though
This game is good, if you are willing to sit through it's manual.
I've played my fair-share of modded Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and it's arguably easier than this. The manual could absolutely be rewritten for clarity and to make it much easier to understand.
If you play KTaNE vanilla and are looking for something like it, this isn't it. However, if you want extra complexity, This might be worth grabbing.
