Skipper is a quaint little puzzle game where you move up to three separate cubes along grid-based levels to reach an exit. In their way are gates that can be opened and closed as well as colored tiles that require a corresponding key to be held to open them. The cubes cannot step on spaces they have already stepped on unless another cube overwrites their step — as such, each puzzle generally involves figuring out how to switch between the cubes and move in such a way that they can all make it to the exit without getting blocked off by their previous moves.
It's a simple and clean concept, though the execution is not without issues. For one, the isometric perspective makes movement a tad more confusing because the game still has to be played with typical 4-directional input. I would semi-regularly forget whether my down button meant down-left or down-right, which would not be so bad if it were not for the glaring omission of an undo button. Now, the levels are not very lengthy, but it is still rather irritating to have to restart from the very beginning of one for a single mistake which may not have even been my intended move.
Despite those flaws, I had a pleasant time with Skipper's puzzles and its aesthetic of minimalist islets upon a blue sea. I don't know if I would recommend this game at its regular price of $3.99. However, it does go on sale regularly for only $0.99, and for 37 fairly well-designed levels I'd say that's a pretty good deal.
one would think a simple puzzle game with 37 levels (7 got added after release) sold for 4 euros would have basic functionality, like undo (if not infinite, just the last step), separate volume sliders, properly working windowed mode and steam overlay, and a tutorial screen that doesn't just flash for 2 seconds, even if the controls are not very complicated. well, in this case one would be terribly wrong.
differently colored cubes paint the squares to their respective colors, but they can't step on them again, unless another cube repaints them first. the goal is for all of them to reach the exit, basically by piggybacking on each other. as a concept, it's fine, the problem is with the execution and the occasional timing element, where cubes have to avoid getting shattered by tiny moving balls. they can also get impaled on sticks emerging from the ground, which are triggered by stepping on their switch, but instead of the switch not doing anything since a cube is standing on the stick, the cube gets destroyed, time to start over.
controls aren't ideal either, though your mileage may vary. I'd prefer them rotated by 90 degrees, but ideally both would be available to choose. all things considered, even at 75% off I regret my purchase after playing about a dozen levels.
Fun puzzle game
Nice minimalistic puzzle game, just the right difficulty. There are also negative sides like: lack of options, repetitive sountrack and the graphics are so so.So,if you are a puzzle fanatic (if you can put negatives aside) you should buy this game.
Interesting variation on the idea of colouring in tiles, where your cubes can't cross their own colour that they leave behind, but you can re-paint tiles so this isn't permanent.
Has a bit of difficulty spike around halfway through (between level 10 and 15, judging from the achievements), but once you internalise the rules I found it fairly smooth going after that.
A nice little game overall.

Shock and awe here, I'm sure, but I would of course recommend this :)
Great little puzzle game. The controls and rules are easy to learn, and the puzzles are just the right amount of challenge. The object of each puzzle is to get the 3 cubes to the exit square. When you move a colored cube onto a square, it changes color to match the cube. You can't move that cube onto the same square again, unless you use another cube to change it's color. In addition, there are some pre-colored squares that can not be passed until you pick up a mini cube of the same color and carry it over that square. There are various other blockades, like posts that drop with switches, and moving spheres that must be avoided.
If you enjoy puzzle games that require brain power instead of twitch skills, then this game is for you.
An undo feature would be nice even if it was only for your last move. I can't get the music to turn off either, the check box does nothing.
