my favorite combination. bugs, and snacks.
i love to play this game as a time killer, its a good grinding game and fun to explore all of the different maps. All of the different Snax are so fun to collect!
this game is fun, realaxing, and grate. the characters are amazing, and the Bugsnax are funny. only thing I have a problom with is that this game is too short
i literally bought this game last week and totally 100%ed it already it is. SO fun. and so addicting. all of the characters are super lovable even if they get a little annoying at times, the mechanics are fine, the only thing is that i wish there was more content just cuz it was so damn GOOD!!!! broken tooth was fun the ending was incredibly beautifully bittersweet and. i dont even know what else to say. i have only positive things to say, for the most part, its definitely worth a try! play bugsnax! do it! i know you want to!

This game was both cute and disturbing and I've come out of it feeling uncomfortable for reasons I can't explain? It managed to capture the complicated nature of relationships between all sorts of people and how tenuous our bonds with each other can be. Idk what I'm going to do with myself after finishing this, maybe sit and stare at a wall for a while lol
Love it! Its a great little first person puzzle collectathon where you explore an island and capture little critters via environmental puzzles. Cure relaxing fun.
Great game, it works so well in VR that you do not notice it is a 2D port. Performance is great too.
On the one hand, this is a fun, cute silly little game... Lovely graphics, interesting gameplay, generally engaging plot, etc.
On the other hand, it's the most aggressively misandrist game I've played in a long time. The way the characters are presented is EXACTLY what you'd expect from a game that introduces itself with the clunkiest depiction of a lesbian couple ever written. E.G.: The mayor (Filbo) is a kind, well-meaning guy trying to hold the (horrible) community members together after their founder disappeared. But everyone - EVERYONE - hates him and is abusive to him for no reason. The farmer (Wambus) is literally trying to save the colony from starvation, but the game is VERY clear that his wife's archaeological digs are more important than his agriculture; you help them reconcile, which ends with him agreeing to help with her digs...but her treating helping on the farm like some kind of ridiculous proposition. The rancher (Gramble) is presented as a bumbling idiot who foolishly loves the bugsnax like his family. All the female characters though? Well, they're exactly what'd you expect. They're all narcissists...but you can tell the writers didn't think they were.
It's...awful. I legitimately hate everyone except Filbo. Is that the point? Is it supposed to be about the juxtaposition between the cartoony, childish characters and how horrible everyone except Filbo is?
JUSTICE FOR FILBO. AND WAMBUS.
This game is surprisingly better than you'd imagine or think, it's a very mature and sweet story whilst looking at how people handle grief and other such things. I'd highly recommend getting it and giving it a try.
I didn't really enjoy the gameplay, I was hoping it'd be more of a cross between pokemon and the chao garden from sa2. I don't think I was gay or depressed enough to really resonate with the story. I also wanted every single grumpus to die at the end. Might be worth on sale if you like these types of games, just not for me personally
Relazing gameplay and great writing and storytelling
it's a game with horror, food, gay puppets, relatible problems with the characters, food that are bugs, bosses, depression, and even death. what more could ask for?
The story line is really good, and I love the animations. Very cutesy, relaxing game. Was recommended it from a friend and definitely would play through the whole thing again.

Really fun game. This was fun in flat and it’s even better in VR. Some Pokémon vibes with weird quirky humour and eventually uncovering a darker side of the plot. If you’re good with the graphics style I think you’ll enjoy this one.
Greatest game ever, stomach rumbling, absolute peak, 10/10, the bugsnax are adorable and I love the attention to details in each character's unique sense of expression. Wiggle is the queen of bugsnax

One of those game you don’t think you will really like. Hours go buy and you realize this game is addictive love it.
Only playing for 11 hours, All assets are made by hand, the engine they use is open source, minimal bugs on day one and never crashed, they continue to provide fixes for the game years after its release.
THAT shows dedication to a game/project.

(I get to pet Bunger in VR now that they added a VRMode, which the engine they use has none. So for their devs to FULLY MAKE A VR MODE FROM SCRATCH, is a MASSIVE W for this team. I would love to show more appreceation to them for making that possible.)

Really fun game. I'm always happy when games in the creature collector genre do fun spins instead of just being a pokemon clone. Would definitely recommend and the creature designs are fun.
Bugsnax is one of my favourite games of all time. This game drips with life and uniqueness. The snax themselves are absolutely adorable, despite the models themselves being repetitive sometimes. The thing that made this game most enjoyable for me to complete was absolutely the characters in this game. It was insanely rewarding seeing their characters progress and their interactions among one another.
One of the cutest most charming game out there. If you enjoy remotely the idea of Pokemon mad of food you must play this. Not only are all the Bugsnax super fun to discover, but the whole story line with the characters is also very charming and enjoyable. There is also so much content. Many time when I thought I has "seen it all" I was left discovering something new again!

Pretty much the epitome of thoughtful design. Gameplay, narrative, and aesthetic are all on point.
The ingenuity-guided exploration that harkens to the immersion of the open-world Zelda games is just as bite-sized as the story. Bugsax was so satisfying in every aspect that I had no conflicting feelings after beating it!
Also really well optimized, never noticed a single stutter on the steam deck.

This game is phenomenal.
The story, the characters, the art, the concepts and so much more about this game are so AMAZING.
You will find yourself pulled in in the first 5-10 minutes of playing this game due to the story alone. The characters are all so loveable, as well as the bugsnax themselves.
Bugsnax is full of things to do, you have the main story, side quests, mail quests to boost friendships, collecting items, different endings and a free added DLC included, possibly even more that I’ve missed.
Due to all of this, you find yourself becoming close to the characters too!
Seriously, if you are stuck on whether to buy this game or not. Let my review compel you to purchase this game.

I finished this game in June 2023 and I STILL think about it. Look at my hours. That was all done in one go with an hour break inbetween. Base game, DLC, and 100% achievements. I've never had a game do that to me before. This shit put me in a trance.
I cannot emphasize how good this game is. No matter what the game looks like on the surface, there is absolutely no way to guess how the story goes and the way it resolves. I bought this game for $8 on sale but would absolutely still buy it at full price knowing how much the game made me feel.
Bugsnax is fun to play, it's incredibly charming, the storyline has so much depth as do the characaters. AND I was able to play it after completion to finish a very optional but extra suspensful sidequest!
If you have read this far just buy the game and play it I beg of you

Okay but serious review, I have played this game fully on switch and got it recently on PC and it is GORGEOUS. The sound design, soundtrack, voice acting, and character designs are amazing! I can feel the love that was put into this game and how much fun the team had with making it! The bugsnax are all adorable, and I wish more games were like this.
Play Bugsnax. Please. You may think the muppet people are dumb and it's a cheap game, but by the end you may feel more connected to the characters and world than you thought you would be.

Amazing characters, fun gameplay, and a very compelling story all wrapped up in a goofy cartoon-style game with unsettling undertones and existential horror going on underneath. I loved it so much I fully intent to go back and 100% it soon. 10/10 would bunger again.
I didn't think I would like it as much as I did, but I haven't been able to stop playing. The gameplay is super fun, the snax aren't overly difficult to catch, and the characters are super fun. I definitely recommend it!
This cute game about catching adorable food-based monsters has better storytelling than some major AAA-games I´ve played. The character writing, dialogues and character development of the cast beat most of what you find in games of this scope and much of what´s beyond! The Bugsnax are incredibly adorable and catching many of them turns into a fun puzzle experience. Every one has its own voiceover. The graphics are fittingly cartoonish as well. I did not encounter any bugs, only snax.
If such a game is anyhow up your alley, I recommend you buy and play Bugsnax.

This game looks cute at first, but the ending feels like a true horror story. It totally took me by suprise. AAAH!! <3 JUST PLAY THIS OKAY?!??!?!!
Super fun gameplay and rich storyline with interesting side quests. Very easy to play so quite relaxing but still requires enough of your attention that you don't notice the hours ticking by. Would play this again any time and really hoping they bring out a sequel!

The game is really fun, It's also a chill game with challenge but not the type to give you much rage with, there's no REAL risk as long as you do all the sidequests, I never got really mad or upset during the gameplay only hitting a bump of anger that was mildly upsetting mostly due to me being bad with jumping/platforming on a sidequest, music sounds great and controls have no issue, spec wise it looks great even on low and barely mattered, I enjoyed the story and sidestory's, the only real con I can say about it is that the percent chance of a creature I needed to take a photo on to get an achievement was kind of hard to get, but overall I give it a high recommendation!!
Absolutely amazing game! Its fun, creative, and simple enough on the surface to make it extremely comforting. I think this is one of the first games I can truly say is enjoyable for all ages

This game is fantastic in just about every way and it being super cheap on sale is criminal. If you're even remotely considering getting this game, do it.
Quickly tested out the vr beta and it runs well on a 3070 with no aliasing or weird issues rendering shadows/particles differently in each eye. I was expecting jankiness like a fan vr mod but it’s actually better done than a lot of native vr games. If you’re interested in playing it in vr definitely get it
Good storytelling, fun game with clever tools. It's on the easy side of difficulty but keeps you engaged most of the time.
Gets a bit grindy if you want to obtain all achievements but its manageable with time (around 20 hs for 100%).
