ABOUT THE GAME
Room 54 is a first-person survival horror game that focuses on investigation, exploration and hide & seek elements. The story tells of Daniel and his wife, Desirée, in an apparently small, quiet mountain town full of secrets.
STORY
The game takes place in 1984 during the winter vacation Daniel took with his wife, Desirée, in the small remote town of Roseberg. One day, Desirée vanishes in the woods where, unfortunately, Daniel soon finds her dead body with evident signs of a struggle. Who could have gone that far? And… what’s happening to the residents in the community who keep vanishing? Daniel discovers that there’s a dangerous and mysterious creature lurking in the woods. Why is this creature there? Where did it come from? Daniel goes into the woods to discover the truth, but soon he’ll learn that solving the mystery, and escaping unharmed, is no small feat…
GAMEPLAY
Daniel must escape from the woods through one of three possible safe routes, and he can only do so by using items and objects that he finds on the way. He’ll need to repair objects, unlock doors, and fix generators and radios to communicate with the “outside world”. Hunted by the mysterious creature in the woods, Daniel isn’t armed, so he must use his wits to escape and hide from dangerous situations as he makes his way to safety. The objects in the game are spawned randomly in the map with each play-through, providing a unique experience each time.
- UNARMED: During the gameplay, you’ll have to be stealthy and hide, in order to avoid the dangers or, in extreme cases, run as fast as can. You’ll need to be very quiet, the creature is always lurking.
- INTERACTIONS: Analyze and use objects to solve enigmas and puzzles, manage your inventory items, and unlock new areas of the map to escape from the forest or, in alternative, to get in touch with emergency services and ask for help!!
- CHALLENGING GAMEPLAY: Your enemy won’t surrender easily. Play with a competitive and smart AI that will react to all that surrounds it.

Terrible.
I wanted to like this game but I can barely play it! I get too many crashes including one crash that made me reboot my rig, and my rig is above mid-range. This must be the work of the crappy Cryengine.
This survival horror game is very well made considering the devs are a very small team. The gameplay,story,background and ambient sounds are very spooky and well made for horror genre survival it gives you presence that you are part of this game. About the monster it has A.I smart meaning it reacts to player condition and its surrounding environment. The Room 54 has multiple ending story mode is great too. The escape from monster boosts your andrealine rush. The dev is very responsive and is a very helpful and active person in the community. I totally recommend this gave to everyone to try it trust me you will love the game very much and enjoy it.

Room 54 is a survival horror game with a small story and multiple escape routes. As in any horror game there always lurk a creepy monster but what unique about this game Room 54 is the monster is A.I smart meaning it reacts to player conditions. The game graphic and engine is CRYENGINE 5 engine which supports multiple small generations pc too. So you dont actually need a very high pc configurations to play this game. About the dev team "IK Interactive" he's very responsive to youtube and steam he makes sure to interact with all the people and take there feedback and try's to improve him game more and more. Even through hes a solo dev and has small team this game has lot of potential and easily surpasses many games in its genere made by big companies. The game price is less then 2$ seriously its very cheap if you guys see the quality of the game. I suggest to everyone you guys must give it a try this game is seriously very awesome.
Cool game, i'm not sure why received most complaints, probably the price was too high in the past as 10$ for a 1/2 hour game is a bit too much taking consideration that it have some small bugs and it is quite short, i was curious and find it at 2,39$ it's totally worth it, the game atmosphere is really good and creepy, graphic it's also pretty nice, the monster it's smart he can reach you anywhere basically and it's hard to escape!
in the end i could sa that it's a simple hide & seek with some background story here and there, for 2 bucks i enjoyed it for around 2 hours, considering it's a solo dev i can see he put some effort in that.
If you take the time to play this game and actually try to get all the multiple endings, then you'll be able to see what's unique and what's good about this game. You can see that this game was made with so much effort, thought, and care. It has a responsive developer who is continuously improving the game.
You will need stealth skills and survival skills as you try to find the objects that can help you escape. I like the fact that you get to unlock different areas and that there are different ways to escape. I love that the AI is smart. It doesn't go around with just pre-patterned rules. It reacts based on the player's actions. It can find you if you're not too careful, and it will keep on chasing you. The ambience is so creepy, and the music definitely adds to the atmosphere. It's fun to play.

I am a bit suspicious of some of the positive reviews, some of them seem to have an interest in getting the sales up, because they don't reflect reality.
I could be nice and say it's a nice try for a first time attempt at making a really small game.
The whole game is about finding some items on the ground and escape an incredibly small area. The problem is that even if it takes tops 2 minutes to cross the map, it feels like it goes on forever, because there is little sense of danger or atmosphere.
All I did was find some logs and stuff in 4 buildings, and those items were automatically unloaded at a particular place, then when I had all the items, and had brought them to that place, the game ended, I had achieved 1 of the 3 endings. I can't be bothered to go through it all again just to find another escape, it wasn't that exciting the first time around, why another?
I had hoped the game was more interesting and immersive when I bought it, but was a bit disappointed to be honest. The guys who made it may be nice guys, and the price is low, but I feel this was a waste of time.
I confess that at first I was scared, the immersion is very intense. The horror atmosphere and the chilling soundtrack help with this immersion. I'm used to games like this, however, with the very interesting story along with all these things I said, they made this game one of my favorites!
Really Enjoyed playing it. Graphics are crisp the keybinds are also perfect the game is very scary perfect to play with some friends at a game night together. Gave me alot of Jumpscares! I really liked it.

Nice little indie game, i wish there could be a way to combat the monster but i think this is the way the game it meant to be played otherwise if there is not treat won't be challenging : )
i've played this game since day one and there was some serious issues, now the game is way better and is good to have some funny chasings from the monster , i've talked to the dev and he's very kind, not easy to get a good game at first attempt but he's trying his best

The game is fun to play, you have to escape from the forest using the objects you find wich spawn randomly in every new game. The monster gives some jumpy, he pop-up when you don't expect it, he can jump fences and open doors so you should be kinda stealthy and listen for any noise.
I'm not sure what all the hate is about to be honest. The description tells you exactly what this game is. Yes, it has bugs. Yes, it has crashed on me. However, the developer has been very quick to respond to any and all suggestions/complaints. He's been very professional and wants to make this game better.
To all the people saying, "You can beat this game in like 30 minutes blah blah blah": It's supposed to be like that eventually. The items randomly spawn; therefore, you never know what ending you'll get. You have to go with what items are available to you. There are multiple endings, and I really like the artwork involved with the loading screen plus escape art.
First time through, it'll definitely take more than 30 mins. But once you learn paths and items, it becomes faster. In my opinion, that makes it really fun. It sets up to see how fast you can get through it.
One more thing I will mention: the negative reviews are from players that have less than an hour invested in the game (except one player). One person has 10 mins. No disrespect to these reviewers, but I think it's harsh to bash an indie game where a dev is working to fix issues when you've played the game for less than 20 mins.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to see where this game goes. It has an active dev that communicates with the players. I like it.
It's certainly better than Investigator and ColdSide: you can walk anywhere in the little sandbox; have multiple ways to exit the level; the music is consistently good and changes when you explore different locations; the monster's AI is smart (there's actual AI to it and not some cinematic or just walking forward at you!) but can be outsmarted; the puzzles are pretty easy to understand; you have an actual inventory.
On the downside: there are frequent slowdowns every so often, but that might be my rig. There's also some misspellings. When there are a lot of drawers to open, having a reticle would be nice; I can't tell what I'm aiming at and sometimes I open and close the same drawer.
It's been out for only a day, so I expect the little optimization issues will be fix, especially since there has been a hotfix already.

Don't buy this! This game is terrible and not finished.
Among a ton of bugs I was able to finish the game after only 30 minutes. It is not possible to see that price for a game like this, I asked a refund.
Here are only some of the problems I've encountered:
-A lot of game-breaking bugs
-If you press F2 you will teleport around
-The savegame make you loose items
-The story is so basic
-Graphics is terrible with many glitches
-The monster... I have no words for it
-The sounds sometimes don't stop so you are forced to listen them forever
-Things, objects, trees randomly disappear (even a whole cabin disappeared)
