If you love building everything and anything then yes, but because of that reason I am saying no, but in the future that may change. It is still very early from what I've checked out, baby dinos and dinos in general are great, but currently from what I gathered, it seems to be very focused on building which unfortunately for me I am not good at and thus my interest in playing dropped. I wanted to get this game eventually cause dinos, but I would recommend for sure just currently I won't be playing for just a few reasons related to my own preferences.
LOVE this game. theres some bugs but idc xD its an amazing game and i cant wait for more animals. also would love to be able to add modded animals like in zt2!
Alright, imma be on my hype train right now. Been playing the test play and I absolutely adore this game. The dinos? AMAZING. The mammals? PHENOMENAL. The babies? ADORABLE. Being able to watch these babies grow? A DREAM COME TRUE. This game is exactly what I want from a dino zoo game. Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy Jurassic World Evolution, but this? It's a love letter to my childhood watching Chased by Dinosaurs and other 1990's and early 2000's dino documentaries. Play this. Love this. Watch it continue to grow and develop!
Very good. Had a lot of fun in JWE2 but it restricted a lot of creativity which this game on the other hand just lets you imagination go wild.
its a good game and very good devs and looks very promising I would love to see more dinosaurs and attractions though
Great sandbox game, better customization than jwe2 and very detailed paleo accurate dinos
The models very accurate and realistic. Game still needs to add more game modes and needs to add collectables to it to keep players engaged.
Still early access but it is still fantastic and will get even better in the future and is a solid game even now
TLDR: While this game looks great and has many good ideas/foundations, the game itself is simply unfinished and needs a lot of work and bug fixes to make it an actually enjoyable park builder and simulator. I recommend waiting, or try Jurassic World Evolution instead.
This game is getting a not recommended from me for now, but I'm willing to change that down the road if the game gets better in a few areas. This park builder works in the same way as Jurassic World Evolution and Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Start with some land, build a park, research stuff and dig up fossils, etc. However, this game tones down the danger and fear of breakouts a lot, and seems to be the more calm and relaxing version.
The Good:
The prehistoric creatures in this game look fantastic, and the variety between dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals is very good. It is clear that the developers have put a lot of time and effort making believable animals to fill up the parks with. Along with that, this game also looks great in general, the plants and buildings have been given a lot of time design-wise. The ability to truly customize your park is also fantastic with a selection of different themes for almost every building, to the ability to create your own buildings piece by piece. The community workshop for this game has an astonishing amount of player-made creations that you can add to your park, and subsequently, you can create yourself. Speaking of building, the game offers you a wealth of ways to make your exhibits look amazing, allowing you to make each pen incredibly complex while still meeting the needs of your animals. Also, bonus points for getting the GOAT Nigel Marven to do some voice overs, gotta love that guy.
The Bad:
Unfortunately, a lot of the features that this game has are currently half-baked. While the building creation and customization is really good, the actual terraforming of the park and placement of these buildings is incredibly frustrating and buggy. Too often, I'd find that my paths are too steep, buildings can't lay flat to the ground, or fences don't quite fit the way I want. The ai is also very sub-par. Animals simply walk around and don't have many real interactions with each other or anything else besides specific "enrichment" items. The ai for guests is also pretty awful. Guests seem to constantly get stuck in the first sections of parks without really walking around to see other things. I've made a few parks and each time, guests barely ever leave the first hundred yards of the park. This compounds onto another issue; your park needs. Similarly to Jurassic World Evolution, this game lets you know what your guests want and need relative to where they need it. If the guests don't leave the beginning of your park, they end up needing more amenities closer to the front door. Now, maybe that's my fault, but I couldn't find any other guides about this online, so I'm just assuming it's a core issue for now. Another mechanic I think is honestly an over-sight is the need to manage your staff. The logistical nightmare this game quickly turns into is really not for me, as the thought of having to hire each person to man a register or carry a fucking box makes me want to vomit. The ai of the box carriers specifically irritates me as they seem to run wherever they want "as-the-crow-flies" to anywhere they need to go, kinda ruining the aesthetic of a professionally made park. That's a bit of a personal irritant of mine, but the entire hassle of dealing with staff is nearly half the game, and it's the most boring and disengaging part of the actual challenge mode.
That's the last thing I want to bring up, the modes. It's pretty clear to me that this game has been designed to be played in the sandbox mode, as half of the issues I have for this game seem like oversights and that the devs just haven't played anything outside the sandbox. Actually wanting to run a park is more irritating than it should be with all these decisions, yet I don't see many people saying anything because most players only seem to care about the sandbox. Listen, I get it, the game is in early access. But right now, I can't recommend this game. The devs seem more interested in working on the animals themselves versus the actual park functionalities, and while looking at the animals are great, that's not why I play these kind of games. I want a park to take care of, and right now, Jurassic World Evolution is just better. It has better ai, better functioning building mechanics, and far less micromanaging and convoluted decisions. Maybe in a year or so this game will be better, but right now, I'd recommend saving your money until more work is done.
This game does not run smoothly at all, nowhere near and I have a beefy PC. With all that said, decent for an early access game. Atleast it doesn't constantly crash like JWE2. ;)
A Dino park builder game with actual heart. unlike mainstream park builders with 10+ paid dino DLCS
very detailed, clearly a lot of effort was put into the game to make it fun and in depth. The animals also have beautiful models and are paleo-accurate
Awesome Dinosaur zoo game if you like games with Dinosaurs in a zoo like place. Really realistic Dinosaurs in this game not that many dinosaurs. No campaign but you can do a custom world and in all sorts of places around the world.
If you are a dino fan, this game is a MUST! Imo, it is better than JWE2 because it feels like you are running an
actual zoo with the keepers and all that. Also this is one of the few games that use realistic models. So yeah also graphics are good. Dont forget the babies! This is a 9.5/10 for me
Everything is customizable, but not overwhelmingly so like Planet Zoo (which is an awesome game, but can take too long to make a decent zoo.) A decent variety of plants, dinosaurs, and more. Overall gameplay is 10/10.
This is one of the best Dinosaur builder ever in my opinion it is kinda unfair to compare this to JWE2 Or JWE3 that is not because one way better but because they use different building system and different Dinos you really can't compare this two get both
Nice game, runs pretty well. Looks good. The term: "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle." Comes to mind when referencing what there is to do in the game. Everything sort of struggles to feel meaningful. But what there is while not being/feeling very deep, provides a good sandbox dino-zoo experience. With the real depth being the customization of your park.
I would say its worth the money, but could use a lot more content to flesh out existing features. Which i'm almost certain it will get in due time with fairly frequent, interesting, and content rich updates.
6.5/10 Worth the money in my opinion. But needs more time to cook. Will most likely end off at a nice 8/10 once its done.
This game is still in Early Access, but it reminds me a lot of the Zoo Tycoon of old (like 2000s, first gen zootycoon). So fun. Love it.
The game itself is amazing, it takes the park builder formula and adds prehistoric animals to it. This review is actually for the update 14 public testing. There is a bug where the game will freeze for about 5 seconds before you can play.
very good game but rn the social interaction plus fighting hast been added yet so i will lb playing Jurassic work untill then
Fun, Good models, Good sounds. Its pretty buggy and needs improvements. Idk if its just me but every 1-2 Hours the game becomes unplayable its at like 6 fps even with my 4090
Just get it.
This game has many things going for it, but there are two massive ones:
1) Incredible dinos. The realism here is unparalleled and really adds to the experience. They just look and act like... well... animals. Makes the game feel much more immersive and impactful. They just added baby dinos and a realistic growth system along with herding behavior and family units. This game feels like you are building a zoo for dinosaurs- not collecting dinosaur-shaped pokemon.
2) Insane flexibility with modular building. This game allows you to design almost any building or enclosure you can think of. There are hundreds of pieces which can be scaled, colored, rotated, etc. to make structures both functional and implied.
pk game good. lots of beautiful and accurate dinos and mammals. indepth modular building system with scailng.
Took me a while to really get into this after buying it a few years ago, but now the game is at a state where I'm entirely hooked on it, and it will only get better from here. This is only a few upcoming features away from being a dream prehistoric park simulator.
Absolutely terrific, i would recommend this game to any people that love Jurassic World Evolution, and planet zoo. Highly customizable, lots of amazing up to date scientifically accurate dinosaurs and other prehistoric species. To planet zoo fans, this is your game. Very similar in terms of UI, and building enclosures, none of which is a bad thing. Animations, sound design, and narration are all amazing, and you might just recognize a familiar face, (or rather voice) if you've ever watched "Chased by Dinosaurs," "sea monsters," or "Prehistoric Park."
Very good and amazing dinosaur park game. Very much needed in life V Absolute amazing dino models V Marine Species X Flying Species X :(
PLZ ADD THE TWO THINGS THAT MAKE THE GAME BLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And don't forget me carno if you absolutely amazing devs see this ADD ME CARNOTAURUS SASTREI!!!!!!!!!!
(Also ur welcome for full name if you need it)
Amazing Game. really fun. Lots of customization. I recommend this over any Park game. This is better than JWE and JWE2. ITS SOOOOO GOOD. BUT, you need the right pc. or else it will crash. But yes, Overall, Super great game
I love bio accurate dinos. good substitute for JWE2, bc its violently swerving between super laggy and super smooth.
absolutely incredible beautiful and the terrain tools are simple easy to use and extremely enjoyable even in challenge mode love the tier system and took me 6 hours to figure out controls and went bankrupt on first save 10/10
its like a dino version of planet zoo. its only a early access right now but there is a lot of potential.
THEY ARE ADDING BABIES!!!! This game has endless possibilities and a great selection of animals. It may take a bit to figure out what you are doing, but it is very worth it.
I want to like this game, I really do, but games that have these excessive options to build every building from the ground up just overwhelm me.
While I can just download structures other players have made, going through the catalog to find what I want is just so exhausting. I want to just be able to play the game, not have to spend hours sifting through build catalogs.
Don't get me wrong, people build amazing things on here, but I don't have the patience to micro manage every blade of grass in an exhibit or every brick in a building and that's damn near the level of detail this game offers.
Even with structures made by other players, I'm not patient enough to create anything near that quality, so I get a mix of good structures and janky path setups. It's a level of build freedom that I just can't commit to.
I'm glad that this game is available for those that can enjoy this level of creative freedom, but this is not going to be the same experience as say Zoo Tycoon or Jurassic World Evolution. I feel like this free form style building is just too much for me.
My word of caution is be sure to watch some gameplay footage or even watch a stream of the game to make sure this is a game you want to jump in to. And if it is then I hope it brings you hours of joy.
If it keeps getting updates it can easily become the best sim game ever
This game is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH! I like the accurate velociraptors and spinosaurus, because Jurassic World Rebirth fumbled the spino and the velociraptors in rebirth are still utahraptor size. Just the accurate dinos overall is really cool, and this might be better than JWE2. I love the modular building, and I'm really excited for baby dinos.
The game is good from the few hours I could play, I will start with that, but after around an hour the game started to constantly crash. My PC is up to the requirements from what I know, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and it worked for about 5 minutes before crashing again. I can boot up the game and start a new park fine, but the game crashes if I play a new park for more than a few minutes and it crashes if I leave and try to continue that park. I was super excited to play the game since I adore dinosaurs but I'm really sad by the game crashing 24/7. If this gets fixed than the game is probably amazing in every way, but until then then I can't say much.
Incredible game even while it is just in early access. The animal models are the best in the genre and scientifically accurate. The build tools are incredible as are the landscaping tools. The game looks and sounds beautiful, and there are many times that I just left the game in a spot and watched the animals and/or landscape with the volume turned up while the time of day and weather changed.
The best aspect are the developers. They are very involved in the community and are continuously bringing updates that add new amazing creatures, styles, biomes, or gameplay mechanics. I am personally giddy with excitement for the ontogeny update with baby animals with seamless growth to adulthood.
This game is amazing as it is now in early access, and I can only assume that it will be one of the best upon full release.
Its a really fun game and has a lot of potential, i really recommend this game for its quality too
good but the dino when i place it in an enclosure glitches an tells me that i need more food an water and trees
Awesome park builder and a great alternative to the JWE games. I do wish there was fighting and hunting, as well as breeding but i'm pretty sure those are planned for later down the line. It has a planet zoo like building system, so it can take a while to build something. The dinosaur designs are amazing and highly realistic according to science. Highly recommend this game.
Great game i really recommend this game good graphics and realistic animals. Best zoo building game ever and so clean when decorating an enclosure. So chill playing this game
I want to love this game, I really do, but I wish it would procedurally detail buildings and enclosures with sliders to adjust how much water, trees, topology or walls, paths, doors, roofing style etc you want, the current modular building system is too time consuming for me to actually enjoy it. Feels like a sandbox building game than actual park management. Somewhere between this and JW:E with heavy management and dangers (that being not just from the creatures but also finance costs, stock and logistics, power struggles, weather, guest problems etc) would be perfect!
The game is a bit buggy but i think it might be the perfect park builder!
Honestly wonderful game and just what I needed after getting into the manga Dinosaur Sanctuary. I was tired of games.movies making dino's look like monsters. When I was younger I yearned for a zoo tycoon game that was just all about dino's and taking care of them, learning about them an just treating them like the animals they where! Prehistoric Kingdom is finally and fully scratching that itch. If this is early access I can't wait to see the full release! I hope they add more dinosaurs later. I'm trying to re-create the zoo in Dinosaur Sanctuary and I'm missing a few, like Pachycephalosaurus.
I just started playing this two days ago, and it is so much fun. Of course it has it's quirks and bugs, but it's an early access game--I'm not looking for perfection. And if that is a deterrence for anyone, it shouldn't be! This game is in early access, and the devs know that. None of the bugs ruin the game or are frustrating, they are just small things that should not be the priority right now.
Aside from the Early Access aspect, I love the in-depth, meticulous building. It really challenges my patience and motivation; which is a good thing. And if you don't like to be super detailed, you don't have to be. The game gives you enough to make a wonderful park without spending hours on each enclosure.
This game is often compared to Frontier games such as JWE2 and Planet Zoo. I understand the comparison, but it is also fairly unfair. The developers of this game are small, way small compared to Frontier. Which is a good thing if you ask me. You can tell that Prehistoric Kingdom comes from a place of love. Frontier overprices their games and make tons of expensive DLCs because they have corporate overlords or whatever who just want to make money (they still have love put into those games and talented creators, it's just that small creators feel so much more genuine.
And the fact this small developer is prioritizing babies and seamless growth?? Not even Frontier has touched that, and so few games have. When talking about this game, I regularly think of WolfQuet. The team is small, indie, and yet they have done some INCREDIBLE things. But they have been able to accomplish those things because WQ has a large fanbase that provides them with funding. Prehistoric Kingdom needs and deserves that! It's a paleo-accurate zoo-building game that appears to take quality over quantity and I love that.
Again, this game is far from perfect. It has a long ways to go and a lot of refinements to do. But the potential is there, and it shouldn't be held back by comparisons to a game based off of a movie franchise and a game for modern zoo animals. Prehistoric Kingdom is it's own thing. It's worth buying and sharing with friends and we really need to spread the word.
i wasn't sure how much i would like it, as it is out of my usual genre of games, but prehistoric kingdom is fantastic! there's so much potential here and i'm excited for future updates and features. i love the modular building, it really helped me fall in love with my park and make it mine. excellent customization, and the dinosaurs are absolutely gorgeous and a blast to watch! definitely check this game out if you are interested in it :)
tutorials dont work, game dont work, mid at best rip
I really enjoyed how much easier building is in this game compared to most simulators. I usually struggle with guest paths in other games, but in this one, the paths are way less finicky, and guests seem to walk fine on stairs so far. The only issue I’ve had is one of my staff members glitching onto a roof, but it didn’t really affect my gameplay much.
This game is beyond great. It lacks the diversity of species that JWE/JWE2 has but it makes up for it with habitat and dinosaur design, sound design, and better freedom when it comes to building your park. I wish there was live feeders and more dinosaurs to play around with but i cannot complain due to the fact that this game not only has one parasaurolophus species but 2 (the greatest dinosaur of all time). Overall this game gets a solid 9.5 nutcrackers out of 10 ford pickup trucks.
i like the custom builds and everything. the dinosaurs are realistic i love it but it makes your game lag sooo bad
love this game!!! Would really love to see the glyptodonts genus tho...
