Very basic game
Amazing game!
DON'T EAT LOBSTERS, THEY ARE MY KIN! DO NOT COOK LOBSTERS, DO NOT BUY LOBSTERS, DO NOT CATCH LOBSTERS!
ESPECIALLY DON'T PLAY REALLY SHITTY MOBILE-LOOKING GAMES ABOUT LOBSTERS!
AND DO NOT SLANDER ME BY CALLING YOUR GAME "LOBSTER EMPIRE"! I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A TACTICAL RPG RELATED TO THE LOBSTER EMPIRE, BUT NO. IT'S THIS CLICKER CRAP WHERE I DON'T EVEN MAKE A CAMEO!
Boring!
Mobile clicker as some say is really fitting. Business simulation = 0. You are only allowed to have one ship per type. Why? Why not sell the small one and buy a big one? No! Keep small and make it impossible to buy more of the bigger.
Crew can level up. Nice! But takes so f...ing long! All is so slow paced. This is also only reason why I got so many hours with this game. I wanted to have it since first announced. Bought in sale, and kept it with the hope it might change... Guess it will never happen...
Oh, and worst thing ever! One song in loop! Brainwashing at its best...
Nice game for Mobile but not PC worthy.
The whole logic of the game resembles a lot more a Mobile game then a PC game. You have to wait X time in order to get forward in the game, in the mean time you have nothing to do and there is no way around it. Its somewhat of a Mobile clicker game...
The base idea is good and would work if it would give the player actually something to do while you waiting insted you in my case is was in-game for 16hours, actuall playtime was maybe 3 hours the other 13 hours i basically was waiting for the game to prefors a task (getting to and back from the Sea).
Would be much more fun if you would not spend 80% of the game time, waiting for something to happen in the game.
At some point i did not even wanted to go out to the Sea as it ment again waiting for a 2minutes and rather i clicked around eventually realising there is no way around waiting for 2 minutes every turn as no Fast Forward function is provided.
In conclusion, nice idea but bad execution therefore i do not recommend this game.
bought that game couple days ago ... realy like the concept and game play but sadly there is still many breaking bug in it.. almost every time u reload a game u either lose ur quest and upgrade that are ready to buy or the game bugs and u cant play anymore. occured twice already after quite a few hours of play... cant ask a refund now cause its too late.
so be warned .. avoid that game until those bugs are sorted out, because the breaking bug occur after the refund time usualy.
not a bad game.. made me have fun for many hours but very frustrating to lose all progress after so much effort and time in it -.-
This a good little game it had a few bugs that are now fixed needs some added content to keep me going on it but one thing I'm guessing was over looked was the size of the lobster (824 inches long) that would make them 68 foot plus in size and would need godzilla to harvest them not a small boat =)
After the update to version 1.0.2a the get got to be great.For the money worth every pennie.Love it is not simple need to do a lot of thinking and making hard decisions to win the game,
long story short - nearly all the reviews are pre-update.
I haven't noticed any bug until now and the game itself is something between okay and good.
The release with the bugs wasn't lucky, but it now seems as the game would be really bad which simply it isn't.

I repurchased this game at the devs request after the last update. I don't see any improvement at all. Forget the awful music/sound effects and the super cringy dialog. This game has no strategy to it. There is no upgrading boat parts and buying gear for fishing....you just simply click some buttons to start a mission then a weather event may pop up and you have 2 options like go through the storm or go around and waste fuel and then thats about the end of the mission, you get some xp and some random amount of crabs. I seen that Game Dev Tycoon was an inspiration for this game, both games cost the same but this game is not even close to the depth and content that Game Dev Tycoon has.
.....And who in the world speaks like characters in this game??? Remove all the dialog and start over with it, find a better story with believable english. Immersion killing.....

I had been following this game forever and was so excited for release day. Release day came and was so dissapointed once I played it. There is little strategy to be played and it lacks depth, its shallow...I mean real shallow. Its boring. The dialog is just awful awful awful, it must be written and then translated by someone who speaks little to no english. I know its a cheap game but its so so bad I still can't recommend buying it. Definitly not was I was expecting and not worth 5$.

I was very dissapointed in this game. I was really excited to buy this game and felt like it would be a fun money making strategy game. However for the hour I attempted playing the game it continued to bug out and freeze this made the game unplayable and with its already kind of boring game play of just sending ships out and waiting for them return. I had to ask for a refund because i was not even able to play this game with the one ship that you send out bugging and never coming back in.
I think this game has been unfairly reviewed, but I have to agree that there are many bugs with the game but this game is not a clicker at all, the start is very slow but once you get your second boat and more crew you become much more involved i am almost finish era 1 and it does pickup a lot but for now I would suggest waiting before buying this, I encountered 3 game breaking bugs. I am sure this will be fixed in the upcoming patch, it is playable but these bugs will frustrate you so wait for it to be fix. I am leaving a positive review because I can see myself enjoying this game once everything works
this game has certainly improved somewhat, the bugs have been removed, I can't find any fault with
the gameplay itself, although I did get confused over a certain aspect, (upon downloading the patch i kept getting sea sick... but that's what the training function is for. which wasn't needed or not needed as much before the latest update.
now onto something that really irks me. the trailer how awesome and epic would it be to actually catch your own lobster instead of allowing the game to simulate that for you... the trailer is incredibly misleading... hopefully the devs see this, and make this a reality because it would be AMAZING. a hands on Lobster empire game, where you did all the micro managing (if you chose to)
due to the fact that the game has been updated to the point it's playable without having to restart every 30 minutes-1 hour. I can safely say I reccomend this game, but please Devs take a note above, and make that a reality
As other reviews have stated, it's disappointingly simplistic-click and wait. I intended to get further in the game to see if this changes. Unfortunately, after 5 missions, the meters stuck where they were. Even though it said I was catching lobster, my count didn't change, and the cash balance didn't change either when refueling (which should drop the balance). I think there's some potential here with bug fixes and some additions to the game, hoping the devs can do that.
(Edited review with updates, 1/13/18) I've come back to the game after the recent updates and happy to say that the bugs I encountered previously are now non-existent and I have not encountered any technical problems. The devs have been attentive in addressing issues. As far as the game goes, I've been able to progress a bit further and it gets progressively more involved. It seems to be more of the management type game I, and others were hoping for and I've actually found it quite fun and addictive. There can be some punishing RNG, especially in the beginning and it offers some challenge and requires smart decisions to progress. I think it could use some minor balancing in regards to this, but overall, presently it is quite fun. Much improved from a few weeks ago,
I've started 2 games now only to have both suddenly stop working while ships were out fishing. Tried closing the program and restarting with no success. Would really like to give the game a chance, but it is unplayable in its current state.
Buggy. They delayed the game for months because they were fixing bugs so that their beta tester will rate them higher. I got to the 3rd or so "mission" and the game started to bug out. People would not complete the sailing trip, the exp screen freezes blank, no useful tooltips, everything glitched to the point where the game froze. I tried to load the save and it gets worse. You get all of the ! popups and if you click on any one of them, it freezes your game. The only redeeming factor of the game was that the concept was cute.
So here is my review for the game. I have only played 30 minutes to know that this is not a great game (played till I furfilled the first goal, 20.000 gold).
- The sprites used for the characters are just ugly. I love pixel art and this game just did it wrong.
- Back ground art looks meh and lazy
- There is 1 ''song'' that keeps repeating itself which is really annoying to listen to
- The text font is just terrible to read
- You literally click on a boat, choose which 2 will operate it, choose map, randomly put a pointer on a specific piece of ocean and hope for the best.
- There is no explanation as to where you have a higher change of finding more lobsters and the circles make no sense
- After you have set all for the boat trip you just look at your screen and wait
- I do not know why you would hire more people to work for you when only 2 can get on the boat
- Gameplay is just boring. I thought this would be a bit of a management game, so you set out the route for the boat and when the boat is on its way you can do other things, a big nope for that.
So overall, the game is just boring for me, looks horrible and an annoying ''song'' that keeps looping was the last straw for me to refund this game.
I gave the game a shot after many months of waiting for a release. Turns out it was not worth the wait as it broke constantly. Between unclosable menus popping up, escape key being the default to windows mode bind, sending out ships only to have them stuck in the ocean forcing a reload that further broke the game. I tried. After some bug fixing i will revisit.
This game plays like a mobile clicker, not a strategy simulation game. For the first hour, you're left with nothing to do but click on a boat every minute or so. If you continue, it's advertised to have more content, however, it takes too long with boring clicker mechanics to get there. Additionally, the late game appears to be functionally the same. If you are looking for a clicker, I still think there'd be better, more rewarding options.
