New Playable Character "Minori Amanohara"
After its establishment, the Drexler Institute developed artificial Valkyries and Arcanas. Minori Amanohara was one of the few products of that research who was born at the Japan Branch of the Institute. She is a “Hybride”, a special Valkyrie who can dual-wield the powers of the Arcana and the Geist. She escaped the facility with the help of Petra. “Doing good deeds in secrecy” is her motto, so she uses her ability to defeat evil without being seen.Although frustrated by her inability to help Heart and the other Angels, she continues to fight for world peace with her newly acquired powers, and stands tall fighting for peace as the "Annihilation Angel Subaru" (self-proclaimed super hero name).

The Arcana of Blood symbolizing the essence of life. The Mobius strip represents the reincarnation of all life. Enhances all potentials to their maximum strength.More playable characters in future patches!
With the overwhelming success at the crowd-funding campaign, the stretch goals for both a new character, "Shark Girl" and a new Arcana, "Paracelsia" have been achieved and will be introduced into the game at a later date!*Will be implemented as paid DLC for the new characters.

The 25th playable character. A homonculus created by the Arcana of Life, Parace L'Sia. Has the abilities akin to that of a marine animal, and shapeshifts her form to combat against her opponents.
Naturally, her contracted Arcana is "Parace L'Sia".

This is a decent game and i'm happy that they have made changes to the game that allows it to be played on the steam deck since that wasn't available in the prior Max Love release. I wasn't ready to buy the whole game again if i was really only getting an extra character and some updates (since i mostly play offline) but i felt like it was fair to get the game for around 8 dollars Australian on the winter sales.
as for the gameplay, its sort of similar to Dragon Ball Fighterz. you have 3 buttons for light, medium and heavy, 1 button for your projectiles/charged launchers (which would be ki moves/heavies in DBFZ) and a button devoted to chase downs and cancels. its a bit more easy to follow what's going on though with 2 characters on screen and slower movement speeds which is why i like it. combos feel similar to most system arc games where you do like 4 or 5 normals special or meter move and I find there's a lot of room to make up combos on the fly when you begin to learn what connects if you don't want to spend time labbing combos or looking them up.
i haven't played any online but offline offers a decent amount of content. firstly you get a story mode, which is pretty much an arcade mode with the choice to select a fighter you want to challenge in each stage. secondly there's an after story mode that offers a more narrative driven story line for each character. There's a few stories you unlock in the gallery which, for the most part, are VNs where you experience some cutish fan service with the characters with sometimes the option to select a non-consequential dialog option and sometimes engage in a vs battle. also in the gallery there are sub-stories which are fine. they are just like mini versions of the last thing. then there is a score attack survival mode and a time attack mode. that doesn't give infinite amounts of play there but there's at least a good 40 hours there if you wanted to do everything offline.
However, you might want to check out the other games; Arcana Heart LOVEMAX!!!!! and Arcana Heart 3 LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!! because this game has featured an update where the trial mode is removed, despite what it has in the description. As someone who played love max, i really enjoyed the trial modes and, in comparison, you are only really getting a new character, a new (easier) final boss in story mode and the option to buy 2 more characters. If you are mostly an offline player and you have a windows pc, you might prefer the older versions for more content.
Unresponsive - not worth playing.
Took a while for me to get used to it, didn't know if the game had a tutorial or not, but it's fun though.
I miss the features on the previous iteration of AH3, like the fights with Odin, Parace L'sia and the other augmented characters on the trial modes.
Other than that, I love it.
The new characters are adorable and very fun to play, especially Gur- Pistrix. Not very "competitive" but very fun.
Parace L'sia feels very underwhelming as an arcana especially taking into acc how hard she was too beat in previous games but it's understandable.
Overall. Game is very good, a solid 8.5/10 (9.5/10 when you've got friends to play it locally).

It's a fun game. I have all the others in the series. My god lol the final boss is hard. Like over the top hard. Some old SNK levels of hard. But it's do able. I beat time attack mode (arcade mode) with a fighter i'm not good with at all lol. So it's probably was a skill issue only; that's on me. This updated version of part 3 is a must get for any fan of this series. Don't let the cute art style tick you. It's a very good fighting game. There's multiple options...so you can play at your level. There's all the fighters from the other games in the series & all the spells too. They even added some new fighters & spells. The game mechanics are the same as the og part 3....ask far as I can tell. I highly enjoyed playing this one. the only issue i had was my frame rate. My pc is probably just old. But it plays other 3D games just fine. So why would a 2D game have any issues with the frame rate. The game page says my pc will be able to play it at max settings on page. But there's no way it could regardless it was a very fun playthough. i'm happy i got the game of the year version with all the dlc.
really good i love it
what happened to this game is absolute tragedy. Its one of the most unique and interesting anime fighters to ever exist. Quality wise its also up there with BBCF as one of the best FGs I have ever played. If only this game could get a revival with rollback as well ;(
