Good little Game, that you end up spending way more time than planned.
Build cars, build more cars and... build cars!
Sadly is a bit too easy, even on harder difficulties.

A great car factory management game. You start out with a small factory an limited employees. As you progress in the game you can unlock bigger factories allowing for more employees. overall I will give the game a 8/10.

I bought it for about 1$ and it was almost worth that money. It is nice start to a game, not fully developed project, f.e.
- winning car of the year award does nothing to improve sales,
- having fans does nothing to improve sales,
- there are no sale reports (which model does or does not sale),
- there is no influence on production - you develop a model and that's it,
- only advertising boosts the sales,
- it's easy to miss the deadline to register for car of the year / race,
- after playing for about 5 minutes you've seen about 90% of the game - after that you will just go through the motions.

Ok , so i bought this game for $1 because of a sale , but it's still worth the full price.. it's cheap and fun.
Game seems like a Mobile game knock-off but whatever , it works and passes the time.
Due to the game being so basic , i'll keep this short.

Is it worth a buy ?? Yes

epic car factory is a very good game once you understand how to play it. its very confusing at the start but you have to play a couple games to understand.

Not a lot to the game once you learn the basic premise of "developing" a car. It just becomes a grind to get enough research points to tune new parts to their next level. It also feels like the computer is cheating like crazy because it's hard if not impossible to keep up with it.

It's not great.
I was imagining something like Car Tycoon. A very old and basic game, but it had lots more interactivity and you could move around the whole town and see your cars ride around the street. Development was also a lot more satisfying.

This game is just.... there?

It's a thing you can kinda play, but not really. You click on things.
That's all I can say really.
You click on things and text tells you something happened.

It's very slow. It's very tedious. It's quite boring.

I didn't play this for long. Only 30 minutes. And that was long enough for me to see how boring and repetitive it would be.

This game basically is Game Dev Tycoon, but instead of games, it's cars, without the economic difficulty of GDT. You have no reason not to pick the best stuff for your car, no reason not to go for expensive cars, no reason not to do anything.

There is potential, yes, but the devs have abandoned the game as their last post was in 2018.

This is my first refund in years.

Not much challenge ... in less than 2 hours I managed to solve all my money issues, trained all my workers to high levels, and produce great cars everyone wanted to buy.
I really wish there was a way to pick all the options for the cars and which folks I wanted to work on each stage >> AT ONE TIME << instead of repeatedly watching the same boring cut scenes after each step - it's very boring.

When you start out it's really hard especially on the middle difficulty but once things pick up the game gets super easy. Easily addictive gameplay with lots of research. Just wish the game had difficulty throughout the whole thing (on harder settings atleast). Gameplay is fairly short, completed the game on multiple difficulties already. Might be better with mods.

This is a solid little game. Sadly, it is only fun for about 2 hours. I really wish this game was fully fleshed out. It is a good concept, but just not that fun after a while. Give me more challenges and rewards, instead of just churning out cars with no real end in sight. I only recommend this game if it's $3 or less on a sale, then it might be worth it for a few hours of entertainment.

There is just not enough to this game, once you figure out how to make profits, you just go on auto pilot.

No options to buy new locations when you want, instead (and I am not sure how this is calculated) you just get a message saying you can move, when I got this message I had around 12m in the bank and felt like I could have moved long ago.

There also seems to be know way to interact with the other companies, the game tells you every year that there are like 50 companies, but you can't buy stocks in them or anything like that. and I have been top for almost all of them by around 800 points every year aside from the 1st couple.

I was thinking about stopping after 2 hours, since at the time I was on around 7-8m in the bank, making loads of money, but didn't really have much to spend it on. However after reading several possitive reviews I thought I would give it a few more hours in the hopes of opening up more options, I wish I hadn't, kinda think some of the + reviews are bought tbh.

DON'T BUY even at 90% discount, this game has a minute novelty to is from the random news etc, but that's about it.

When i bought it, i wanted to like this game so much. I'm an avid fan of design/management games like this, such as Game Dev Tycoon, Mad Games Tycoon, Computer Tycoon, Startup Company etc. I was sorely disappointed.

Pros:
Pretty graphics. Everything is well drawn in a pixel art style, with nice little animations.
Car bodies are based on real vehicles, with some decent research going into it.


Cons:
Design system seems lacking. It could have done with being a bit more in depth.
The gameplay simply sucks. There's no real progression, understanding how to play is really unintuitive.
It's really hard to start but really easy in the late game.
The opposition companies needs expanding.
No updates since it was was released.

This game is not the worst game i've ever bought, and i've bought some awful games. But it's definitely not great, and not worth the money.

Go buy one of the ones i mentioned at the top, they're much better.

A bad game, dont buy it.

* Limited assets, feels like the devs were really lazy.

* poor coding resulting in code-tags being present in menu mouseovers.

* no way to get research outside of building cars.

* Flat and slow progression.


* No real economy or sales data, no info on competitors.

* Everything is on rails when it comes to the cars. you cant research or customise anything outside what the game feeds you on a shcedule.

I've played about 4 hours on the beta about half a year ago and about 2 hours on the final game now and I'm quite disappointed. The games looks nice and fun and I enjoyed it at the beginning, but eventually it just becomes repetitive and very easy - after just about 2 hours of gameplay I have 6 employees, I'm basically unable to make a car below 100 points (max is 120), I'm miles ahead of my competition in production, I'm crushing the "Best car awards" every year and winning all the races while constantly earning tons of money that I don't even know how to spend anymore. All that without any extra effort from my side, just sort of casually playing the game.

Becuase of the above there's no real sense of accomplishment anymore, knowing I'm barely mid-game and already "winning" and that there's no new challange coming and that there won't be any new "game changer" mechanic appearing. Not even the factory upgrade, which I was looking forward to, brings any excitement, it just allows you to hire two more employees.

I already had that feeling about this game when I played the beta, but knowing it was just a beta, I hoped the devs will balance the game and introduce more interesting gameplay elements, but sadly it looks like they've just been sitting on their butts the past half a year or so.

Now the only hope remaing in the modding community, let's hope one can do more than just create new car models...

Thumbs up for the native Linux version though.

Uses the same mechanic as the "game developer tycoon" type games where it's really just about your employees adding their stats to make a final product.

The problem with Epic Car Factory is there are too few parameters and options for this to be much fun and the core mechanic does a poor job of making you feel like you're designing a car.

With no other business considerations (logistics, factories, product lines) there's just not much to do after a few hours. Full review available.

First off all I havn't played the game to the end yet, but what I've seen is very promissing.

It's a very basic simulation of a research company. The gameplay is very beginner friendly and offers a macro view over the process involved in getting a product to the market.

From the reviews I think the publisher choose the wrong platform for publishing the game. I've seen worse so called economic simulations on mobile platforms that had 5 star ratings.

All in all I would recommend the game to learn about economics involeved in running a reserach facility. Due to the simple mechanics it might be ideal to teach some kids about economics.

DO NOT BUY - This game is ment to make some money fast, there is no love put into it.

This is why this review remains accurate even with 0,2 hours: Because I immediately refunded when I saw that there is no difference between the buggy, messy, unpolished and content lacking beta and the release. The game never was worth its price in any mean.

-almost no content, extremely repetitive gameplay
-whole game feels unpolished and unfinished (music is far too loud, fans are not explained, so aren't many other features likte the marketing features, translation errors, bugs and so on)
-the beta was actually no difference to the final game
-unbalanced af (no difference to the beta)
-for music: its the one and same song repeating every 2 minutes! I mean WTF!!!
-some features remain unclear (e.g. what are fans for? how important are they)
-the game difficulty is far too high in the beginning, then far too low later
-your factory isn't even a factory, it is a prototype design hall
-Good idea done very poorly in a fast maner to make some quick money.

There are some people critiszicising this review because I got 0,2 hours on the game: I played the beta for about 10 hours. As the game had its release, there was NO difference between the beta and the release version.

Almost all reviews below my review are from people who have not purchased this game on steam. It is very likely they have been engaged by the devs to write a positive review or have been gifted the game for free.

I really wanted to like this game. The graphics are beautiful, and while all the elements make sense, I don't feel any accomplishment. [Ignore the hours played, I've been playing the Preload yesterday.]

tl;dr -- You make cars, but you never really feel accomplished in doing so. Sometimes you get a bit more money, sometimes you don't. It feels more RNG than actually things you do.

Long part:
Epic Car Factory is the second game for Epic Devs. Their first game was heavily inspired by Kairosoft (a company I'm a big fan of) and so I was excited. It was a middling game. I was thinking the studio probably learnt a ton from doing a first game, and this would end up being something from them (rather than copying the feel of another game.)

Unfortunately it just lacks any feel of accomplishment. You get money, sometime more than others. But it never feels like you did something. It doesn't keep me interested in the waits, and somehow I don't get any satisfaction out of it. The base enjoyment of simulation games is being in a repeat cycle of always doing better, and having feedback on why it is, or isn't. This you just repeat clicking buttons but it fails to reel you in to feel excited about it.

They also skipped hiring a writer, and you can feel it throughout. Conversational English is enjoyable if done well, but unfortunately it isn't.

I wish I was wrong, the game is beautiful, and has some great ideas. It could be amazing but currently falls flat.
