This game was great. I wasn't expecting much going in but was pleasantly surprised.
Party Bullets
This game is a great choice for those who enjoy shooter games but may struggle with them. It offers a fun party game experience with a moderate level of difficulty, making it perfect for casual gamers. The game excels in providing entertainment from start to finish, and I personally find it fantastic. Fans of arcade-style games like Robotron and Nex Machina will surely appreciate Bullet Party. However, if you prefer games with stunning graphics, this may not be the game for you. It's important to note that not everyone values the same aspects in a game, and that's perfectly fine. The game can be completed in approximately 2 hours, making it a quick and enjoyable experience for players. Bullet Party stands out as a fun bullet hell game with simplistic graphics, offering 180 levels across 36 stages. Despite the initial intimidation of the number of levels, they are short and manageable, providing a satisfying gameplay experience. The variety of enemies and their unique abilities add to the addictive nature of the game, ensuring that players are constantly engaged.
Bullet Party is a fun bullet hell game with super simplistic graphics.
There's 180 levels, divided into 36 stages. That may sound daunting at first, as it did with me, but the levels are really short. If you don't skill issue, you should have no problem beating this. It's really addictive too, with so many different types of enemies. They just never seemed to run out of ideas for what an enemy can do.
I had a great time with this, really addictive and simple, easily an hour or two of fun, all for a very reasonable price!
A good miniature arcade game that can easily be done in a single sitting, if it looks fun to you then I'd say just go for it; I went out searching for games with this sort of style and this satiated my appetite for a pocket sized bullet hell.
Can be a fun game... quite fun... a number of stages to completed, singleplayer or co-op.... but
I STILL HATE TIMED LEVEL ! WHY ! Gosh NO
I don't need the extra stress.... but still... doable
6/10
This game is a twin stick shooter with retro-looking graphics. There are 180 levels, broken up into 36 five-level sections (and you get an achievement each time you finish one of those sections). I played solo, but it appears to have local co-op as well, which is a nice touch. Some levels were challenging, but it was never overly-difficult.
I was very satisfied with this game, and recommend it.
This game is great for just $1. The pixel graphics and soundtrack might not be for everyone, but for those that enjoy that type of thing, this game is perfect.
It's a great little arcade style game with almost two dozen different awesome 8-bit tracks to it.
For completionists, the achievements are easy as pie, if you play through the game and beat it, you have all 36 achievements. It takes about 2ish hours to get through it all.
This game also has local multiplayer support, which I myself have not tried but I can tell would be a blast.
Great little game, buy it if you can, especially if it is on sale.
7/10, good arcade style game, fun mechanics, good for the price, and charming, but after you play through it once or twice you will likely move onto other games as you will have experienced all it has to offer.
Wow, another hidden gem! Visuals are very simplistic but the gameplay is not too easy, not too hard throughout the 2-hour experience, the focus was really on 'fun' more than challenge which I really appreciated.
BULLET PARTY is a fun, fast paced twin stick shooter with simple controls and graphics.
The simple control scheme makes the game easy to get into. WASD for moving and arrow keys for shooting direciton with 8 directional moving and shooting. The default and only shot type is triple shot which is great for shooting around corners. You are allowed to take one hit before you die on the second hit. And there's two power ups, invincibility that can destroy enemies if you run into them and quad damage that kills everything in 1 shot other than bosses. Another interesting game feature is the variable game speed. If you are completing levels without dying, the game speeds up, but if you are dying, the game speed goes down. The game's dynamic is changed to fit any player's skill level.
Levels are grouped up in "parties", introducing a new game element each new party, that consists of 5 levels to keep the game fresh, going up to a total of 180 levels. The best thing is that levels are usually completed in under a minute, lots of fast paced action. The bad part in my opinion are the timed levels, there's a timer that forces you to maximize the damage output and do the most optimal route for defeating enemies. The other levels feature shooting behind cover and abusing your diagonal triple shot, dodging bullets and rushing to get hit while getting a power up at the start of the level to have any chance of completing it.
The graphics are very simple and not impressive, but they have decent enough visual clarity to see the enemy bullets and dodge them. There are flashing lights, but luckily they aren't very intensive to take away from the experience. For a fast paced action game like this one the music is fitting and varied.
For achievement hunters:
Complete all 180 levels, no missables.
beat the game, it was very enjoyable, definitely worth the price.
Very fun game. Good set of enemies with distinct abilities and "character". Perfect length.
Very Bizzarre!,Knocked out the first seven achievements in first go,i will return to get the rest but for £0.39p that alone was worth that!.
EDIT>23 of 36 (64%) achievements earned: after second visit! :)
Once you Pop you cant stop! This game is a bit like that.
Amazing soundtrack too.
Addicitive even?...it goes to show you don't need sweet GFX to make a Good Game.
PS-Great game for a Gift and isnt it annoying that those very few negative reviews have all got their comments turned off?At least let the Developer have his say no?The Game play in this game is very good i know a thing or two about GP.Simple pixelated Gfx are a HIT right now anyways Retro baby!Looking forwards to sequel or is it Threquel to Pheonix force? :)
Pac-Man on "something" isnt far off! :) Im really enjoying this and my Third attempt will probally get me to the end which means ALL achievements which also sadly means Un-install!..Once Conquered...
I'll take this as living proof that not having an artist in your team is not an excuse.
The game uses very simple graphics -- and just sprites, no backgrounds. Also royalty-free music, though a good selection of it.

This also made me think "oh man, I could make a game like this!"
But could I really? I probably would've dismissed the premise as too simple.
But this game actually pulls it off, with the variety of enemy design.

★★★★★★★★☆☆
This is a seemingly straightforward schmup on the surface but it's just as much a puzzle game. Levels fly at you thick & fast, and you sometimes have just seconds to destroy all the enemies onscreen. However the visuals, whilst retro, are clearly defined & even though you will perish (many times!) it never feels annoying as you get put back in again, forcing you to think quickly & remember what worked & what didn't.
Kind of unique among the many twin stick shooters out there, and great value. Even the pulsing soundtrack is effective. Get it!
A fun twin stick shooter with solid challenging, but not too difficult levels.
Pros:
Casual difficulty with lots of unique and varied enemies, challenges and puzzles throughout.
Nothing in the game is too hard that it will take more than a couple of attempts to overcome.
Multiplayer coop, allows a friend to join.
Good price for what you get.
Cons:
The game is pretty short, only taking 2h to run through all 180 levels.
Once you run through all the levels there isn't much replayability.
TL;DR: The no-fluff presentation and difficulty curve make this game worth the price.
It doesn't try to be anything crazy, and I'm perfectly fine with that.
Nothing's terribly flashy, nothing really stands out. It's a bit strange for me, but it works.
It's simple, it's straightforward, and it eases you in. This is a stellar example of how to let a player learn by isolated enemies. Aside from how you move, pretty much everything is taught without text. Even for a simple game, that's noteworthy.
If you told me it wasn't polished, I'd agree. However, the bare-bones presentation does a lot. There's enough going on that it's not a snooze, but it's nothing overwhelming. In fact, I'd say that the presentation is one of the game's strong points.
The two dollar price tag seems reasonable for what you get - 180 levels of increasing difficulty and a vacation from insane difficulty spikes.
If you like shooters but aren't good at them, get this. If you want a hardcore shooter, pass. It's meant to be a party game with a little bit of challenge, and it hits the mark dead on.
Alright my secnd review for the day. I have to say this was incredibly enjoyable. I beat the entire thing in a few hours and I didn't put it down the entire time. I nrmally dislike shooters but the incredible simplicity of this can't be beat. 180 stages of fun and challenging levels that you can play by yourself or with a friend I totally recommend!
Got this game for around 15 cents and its a nice little game if you have an hour or two to spend. The levels are simply and easy and most levels will only take 4 or 5 try's (at most) to finish
I love it! Great all the way through. I'm looking forward to trying it in local co-op next. I was just going to try it out for a bit and ended up playing all the way through in one go. If you think this game is too short, you don't understand the point of arcade style games. Fans of Robotron, Nex Machina, etc. will love this. People who need pretty graphics to enjoy games probably won't like it, but the finer things in life aren't for everyone, right? ;)
Months ago I kinda wrote a review about this game under acids (no seriously I can't even drink anything but water but Idk).
This is actually a great bullet hell game, it has its flaws, but it's epicly long (literally hours of levels), has many different enemies each one with different weapons and it takes days to complete. Some levels also are timed and if you die the timer elevates a bit giving you more time.
It has got some flaws, first of all the thing that for the whole game you control the same "thing" (it looks like a granny emoticon to me) which has only two lives (if you get hit you get reduced by a quarter, if you get hit again you die) and that thing has only a single bullet that can be fired using the direction keys (so you use wasd for moving and up down etc. for firing), but you can not earn anything to improve yourself, to change your weapon or to get idk, more armor and so on. So you have to stick with the basic fire for the whole game.
This of course intensifies the difficulty and requires some strategical skills.
Another flaw is that you got only two powerups and they show only on a little percentage of levels, like, 1 on 10 levels. A powerup gives you invincibility (in timed levels) and the other one gives you one-shot kills. But these are rare and only on fixed levels. Otherwise, all the other levels play in the same manner.
Anyways it's definitely addicting. Of course the graphics are arcade-like, and the soundtrack isn't memorable, but it's a very solid title in this category!
So I don't know why I wrote a negative review months ago. Who knows what I was doing at that time.. some delirious things maybe. Ok. If you like to shoot things up like we did in Space Invaders, this is a nice title and deserved a well-written review.
Great game!
I'm a big fan of party games and this game surprised me a lot.
With a great price and great gameplay.
10/10
