good game for teaching
Overall the game is rather cute. It's simple, very easy to complete. My main problem was with the movement system, more often then not I was putting myself through a wall then into it and I found it hard to press buttons with my Vive controllers.
This game was made by unity, wich has a reputation for sucky games. Did not dissapoint on that fact.
For $1, this is not a bad game. My tweens figured it out in less than 5 minutes. But I wanted them to experiment with a simple VR game before I purchased one.
Their feedback is that the button to pick up items was not intuitive, and took them 2 minutes to figure that out.
Good beginner/intro Escape Rooms/Puzzle Rooms.
Well it's a good first try escape room but there is a lot that needs to be fixed. So from one Unity VR developer to another, here are my tips.
First off put a mesh collider around ALL of the object in the map... the green ball doesn't even collide with half of the objects. Secondly try VRTK... the controls are pretty bad and I can literally teleport out of the world, the only reason I can go back is because the character doesn't have gravity on his rigidbody if he has one. Thirdly (I don't even think that is a word) make it a bit more clever... looking around for cards isn't an escape the room... it's a scavenger hunt. Lastly fix the lamp... change the light or get rid of it. It doesn't even work unless I am practically touching an object with it. So please... if you ever want this game to hit it off, take my advice.
Not only is this a very short puzzle experience of only 1 room. But the controls are frustratingly bad. And the VR environment is very bland. It's only .99 cents, but not worth it really. I can confirm game does work on Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers.
Rating 4/10 could be worse, I only wasted .99 cents and I was not totally bored for 30 seconds
walkthrough below:
1) game is getting obvious code from the deck of cards hidden around the room, hard part is inputting code into keypad, but the trick is to tilt your controller like a laser and then hit the grab button 2) get the key card on top of the PC with the 4 blocks logo and put it in the VCR looking machine under the TV with the same 4 blocks logo, there is a slot there for the key card and voila you're done
This is and always will be the simplest Escape Room VR game ever made, in both aesthetic and difficulty/length. You're in an out in around 90 seconds, and it has the simplest VR block look around. You might be really offended by the graphics, but the environment is all very consistent and exact. It is not an un-enjoyable experience, but you'll find it to be not worth a dollar unless you somehow didn't (easily) complete it within a minute or two. I assume you cannot charge less than a dollar for a game unless it goes on sale, but will pretend the developer would have sold this half off, and rate it positively. The main benefit I got from this game was the confidence it gave me to _think_ I could one day develop an escape room experience of my own.

Escape Room is a simple escape the room type puzzle. Despite seeing mixed reviews from players. I thought I would give it a shot!
What do you do in the game? -
You are stuck inside of a room and have to figure out a puzzle to get out. This puzzle requires you to figure out a code for the door.
Pros -
The puzzle does take a few minutes to figure out. Even had me struggling for a minute or two looking for a specific piece of the code!
Even though it says it is for the HTC Vive. I can happily say it works perfectly on the Oculus Rift!
The code to the door changes each time you play.
Cons -
There is only one room/puzzle which left me wanting more
The touchpad to unlock the door is kinda wonky. You might have to redo the code multiple times because you press one key and if you hold the trigger down too long it will press multiple keys (Hopefully this can be fixed)
Just really short overall. Will take you around 5-10 minutes depending on if you figure out the puzzle the first time before the time runs out.
Controls -
The controls you use in this game are simple and easy to pick up and play.
You use the trigger to pick up objects and move items.
And the touchpad (HTC Vive) or Analog stick (Oculus Rift) to teleport.
There is no option to change to locomotion. Because you are just in one room. You might not even need to use teleport if you have enough space!
Overall Thoughts/Worth A Pickup?
There is some fun to be had in Escape Room VR But when you start to have fun it just ends shortly after. If the developer/Developers plan on adding to this game here are my recommendations -
1. Have at least a total of 2-4 puzzles!
2. Fix the code to the door issues.
And if they fix/add those things. I will think this would be worth it!
But at its current state you get what you pay for. What I will do with this game in the future? I might show it to a few friends. Maybe play it once or twice again. But it really just left me wanting more out of this game.
I am recommending this game. But honestly at its current state I would give it a "Mediocre" Score if there was one to give.
This is joke. Game play time is too short and the quality of puzzle method is very poor.
Even if the price is cheap, I do not think it is worth playing.
Honestly people who learn Unity for a week can make this kind of game.
There is only one stage, and play time is less then 2mins....
This is almost like a scam. Do not buy this.
If you want to waste your money then go for it.
I guarantee this game will disappoint you.
(This game is very poor even with free price…)
Quick little game. I think a dollar isn't a bad price, but it definitely shouldn't be higher.
The door code changes each time you replay it, which is good.
The most part is the ball generator in the main menu. The balls will stack perfectly, so you can make a huge "tower" out of them. Throw a ball or grab the bottom one to see it fall!
If you're looking for a full experience and immersive Escape Room game, this is not it.
For 99 cents it isn't a bad game, sure it's ridiculously easy and there is only 1 level. It is 99 cents though and the VR controls and room scale work well, good game for teaching the elderly and small children how to Vive. Hopefully the developer will add more levels someday.
