Pros - cheap; good hints
Cons - stupid start (turn round!); requires excessive reaching; poor moving (teleporting is awkward and should use thumbstick); short; save only after puzzle completed
Extremely brief and dare I say amateurish, but it has some good ideas (and bad ones) and you can't really be angry at it for the price.
Very basic escape room. 45 mins if you explore it all. Nothing really bad to say about it but nothing much good either. Would be great for beginners. 5/10
A bad vr escape game overall.
Gameplay is way too easy for it to be fun (except for children maybe).
Graphics look cheap.
enjoyed the game, puzzles made sense and logical, snap turn and teleport movement, graphics are ok, though I did up the resolution, no bugs and played fine on the Rift S, Ryzen 7 3800X, 5700XT, Windows 10 64.
Not the best VR room escape... i
The interactions/physics can be very wobbly.
The game would take very little time to complete due to it's low number of puzzles. A lot of time is added just because the space is filled with random intractable objects. This isn't inherently bad... but when there's also a really low number of puzzles, which are also on the simple side, you spend way more time picking objects up and discarding them than trying to come up with some clever solutions to enjoyable puzzles.
If you're itching for another escape room fix ... this is FINE if it's on sale and not worth it at full price. I think if the offerings of room escapes on VR get better... this will not be worth it even on sale.
Screams student project. Each room has 30 interactable objects where only one or two matter. And there are only one or two puzzles in each of three rooms.
Just played this game and completed it in about an hour. I enjoyed it thoroughly, the puzzles were creative but always solvable. Graphics are fantastic.
Unfortunately, I wasn't too thrilled with this game. One thing that bugged me throughout was that the hands were set at a weird angle to the controllers, so it made doing some movements, especially around interacting with objects, really weird, and I had to twist my actual hands in odd ways to make it work. Kind of uncomfortable. Additionally, and tied in to that, the physics aren't great, particularly when it comes to throwing...which is necessary at least at one point. Overall, less fun than I was hoping. :(
Unfortunately I can't recommend this game or its sibling, EscapeVR: Trapped Above the Clouds. Some of the puzzle solutions are just too obtuse or completely unrealistic. I'm pretty sure a simple cork wouldn't actually cause a boiler to explode in real life.
I wish we had a star rating system instead of just yes or no. Here's why.
The game's length is short, so unless you get the game on sale you'll be disappointed with what you get for full price.
There's no replay-ability from what I can see. Once you know how to complete the game you don't have to do everything. If the codes and placement of objects randomized it would at least require some effort. That being said I will replay because there's an alternate solution, so at least there's that.
The graphics aren't bad at all, and it runs very smoothly. I wish you could save the game along the way, but you basically reach a stage in the game and then if you quit you can choose to start from that stage.
The puzzles were well done, although the final stage puzzle felt rushed and not on par with the others.
Overall I'm glad I played this game, it was my first try at an Escape Room in VR, and I'm looking forward to their other game.
A weird and often illogical scavenger hunt... not really an "escape room" as you're not solving puzzles so much as looking around for obscure information you can use to unlock something, or you need to do a task that is not particularly logical. There are also some tasks that are seemingly impossible...
I loved this game. So far this is my favorite escape the room game. Easily forgot I was in my living room and found myself avoiding tables and items in the game as if they were real. Its short but sweet. For that reason do not look up any walkthroughs! Save the satisfaction for yourself!! Also this was a good intro to VR game. My aunt said she would just take a look for a minute. She ended up playing this for over a half hour. As a non-gamer everything in this came naturally to her.
Uninteresting puzzles. Simple graphics. Very short.
I feel bad saying this, but it's really not worth the asking price. Something more in the range of $0 to $3 would be more appropriate.
A very solid escape the room VR game. Like most in the genre, the physics are a bit rough, but the manipulation of objects is much smoother than most, and the highlighting really helps encourage the exploration that makes these games fun.
It was fun, and a promising start for the VR Escape Room genre, but it is far from $12 of content. I beat the game in under 20 minutes. Basically $1 per 1.5 minutes of gameplay.
Easily the best VR escape I've played yet. Good level of difficulty, easy to understand. I hope there's much more to come! A episodic game with a season pass would be awesome.
Great job building this escape room. I loved the detail of finding finger prints on the alarm clock. I am looking forward to your next games. Thank you.
I love these types of games!
In Toledo we have an actual real life escape place with different options. Loved doing it with my friends and any time I see an Escape Room VR game I have to get it.
This is probably the best one out of the group I've tried in VR!
GET IT!
Best escape game around so far
There is teleporting, but at this stage that isn't a big immersion breaker for me
Enough items to leave you questioning what is used and what is distraction
Just the right amount of challenge
A well made Escape game. It's not long, but I was entertained throughout the experience and the quality is quite good. The puzzles were not too difficult or annoying (it's one thing to have the player wondering while sitting comfortably, but it's different if he's standing with added weight to the head).
All in all a fun game absolutely worth 10$/€.
