cool game
Fuckin OG Deus Ex on some New Vegas-flavored psychotropic rollercoaster. GET IT NOW.
Brigand: Oaxaca captures the classic RPG style of gameplay perfectly. I highly recommend this to fans of System Shock 1 and 2, Dues Ex, and Stalker.
This is my cup of joe. This is game i keep returning and buying DLC. This is game i keep following. This is piece of art.

Remarkably similar to my every waking moment
Best game ever? MANY ARE SAYING THIS

Ludo.
All right, i'm buying all my cool friends a copy of this game and they will LIKE IT.
A bit janky and sometimes silly, but really fun. Developer is a really cool guy. Dunno what else to write here. Just go play the game.
The unholy spawn from a Fallout and Deus Ex/System Shock union. This game is absolutely brimming with ideas and interlocking systems for anyone willing to scratch its rugged surface.

This is a Gaming Experience that really makes you feel like a native Oaxacan, which I didn't even know was a place that existed until this Gaming Experience came out. It's that good.
Probably the best immersive sim in the last ten years. Also, I've encountered a few bugs only for the developer to fix them *while I was still playing*. This man is faster than my local pizza place.
Brigand is a game of strategy. I know it says "FPS" but without a plan of action you will end up dead. A lot. The best part about Brigand though, is that your options are not at all limited. Every problem has 10 different solutions all with varying risk/reward levels. Encounter a tough rolly polley-esque demon in a short hallway where he keeps running you over again and again to your untimely death? Well you could,
A) Just shoot the thing with a big enough gun
B) Blow it up with your mind powers or even hijack it's own mind to dominate it temporarily
C) Lure it to an explosive barrel or hell, use an explosive of your own (may need to combine with step A if mistimed)
D) Use your *super stealth* to maneuver around the damn thing and let it fight some other Cave Dweller, not your problem
E) Get together some hard hitting maniacs under your command and watch the mayhem!
And this is just a microcosm of all the choices you are constantly making due to your specific build and what items you have available to you at the time. Brigand is a puzzle you have to work through, and boy is it a rewarding one.
Super active and kind developer! I highly recommend this game!
Im seriously trying to play this game because everyone seems to like it. But it is entirely unplayable I have a brand new PC and the game is running as if I am playing it on my microwave connected to power through a toaster or something. IT IS SO SLOW. Unless I screwed up something so terribly that the game can barely run; it needs to be fixed. How am I supposed to even give a nonbias review if the game is barely playable. And im sorry it does not add to the game. Unless some DEV can help me fix my FPS issues Im giving it a bad review which I would be more than happy to remove if I could actually play it.
Reminds me of the years I spent as a Coyote.
Listen: Don't even get started talking about "jank". This game is not perfect, but every single element of it, whether you label it jank or not, contributes to the experience.
Wanna know how? Play on the highest difficulty and make it a survival game. If you keep moving and stay sharp you will have a surplus of food up through the very end, enough to bring full stacks purely for healing to the final boss.
The only flaws of this game are technical. I experienced two annoying crashes and exactly one dialogue glitch, both of which just forced a reload. If that literally ruins an entire game for you I don't know what to tell you. This game is made in a version of BASIC. It is a miracle it works so well with so many moving parts and world states dependent on your choices. I feel like a lot of people somehow see this game, see the way it looks, and still buy it even if they haven't played many indie games or older engines. It's a legitimate accessibility point but that's not the responsibility of the dev, especially with a demo and refunds available. Oh, did I mention most of it is a single freaking dev!?
This game has no "cheese". This game taught me that "cheese" is an excuse for games that are not as airtight as this. This game doesn't force you to do anything. But that's exactly why you should play with hunger: you always need to keep your belly full which means you need to think outside the box for ways to make money and move forward. The correct solution is always the one you can pull off, no matter how underhanded or unfair. It's crazy what it does for immersion and I'm not talking about role playing.
Enemies definitely aren't fair to you and I probably got killed at least once by literally every single enemy type. They are not designed with action game sensibilities, which is why you should play it like a puzzle game. Yes, that means trial and error, but checkpoints are generous enough that I never felt like a big setback wasn't my own fault. This is not the kind of game where your skill can overcome better stats than you, so that's the field you need to meet and beat your enemies on. You need to be crafty and devious... kinda like, oh I don't know, a Brigand!?
I know it sounds crazy but trust me, higher difficulty reveals this game's quality. In case its just a strong build on my part though, some tips: In my opinion, Agility and Software are the most versatile skills you can invest in. Whether you're aggressive or passive, movement speed always gives you choices, (which keeps things from going bad to worse) and software eventually lets you really feel like a top class hacker who's one step ahead of everyone. Oh, and you're probably playing on extra extra hard mode if you don't give yourself at least one strong gun skill, but even that would be an awesome run to try. In fact, I think I'm gonna go start one right now.
Truly one of the games of all time
Honestly for a single developer game, this is an awesome experience. I cannot express effectively how difficult this game is. It's one of those games that blindsides you with just insane difficulty curves, that being said when you think outside the box and manage to survive it's super rewarding. The story is actually pretty good and the characters are memorable. I've become jaded with AAA games and I think the guy who made this game feels the same way. This game doesn't hold your hand either so don't expect it, you're a baby seal and this guy is a hunter with a club, expect brutality. I bounced off this title at first, until I realized how open this game is and how much it rewards being creative. Good story, demanding gameplay, and near impossible challenge, buy this game so the dev can have some deserved beer money.
Janky, but scratches that immersive sim itch. Fun game, thanks dev
Fun game would recommend. Love the progression and the combat system. It really lets you do what you want with the appropriate consequences that you would expect.
Chaos is restless
give this dev a budget of seventeen million dollars
Constant updates and fixes to this masterpiece make it work buying! Great game and great dev
good
Good game and an accurate portrayal of mexico
I'm in love
tbh I have not played this game much as of time of writing yet this game has captured my heart. after being recommended it by a friend, i bought the gold bundle and after just an hour or so i knew id be in love with it. the story is intriguing so far, the combat, whilst challenging, is very fun, and even though ive not come across any bugs at all really, it does an amazing job of capturing the same lovable jank feel of the stalker franchise and early fallout games.
is it for everyone? probably not. Is it an exceptional game to those willing to give it a chance? certainly.
It's too hard to like this game. But once you start enjoying it, It's gonna be WAY harder to hate it.
Very odd and Original Game. Like nothing I've played before. It's still getting Qol updates to this day.
Support the Dev. He is a great dude with a very unique vision.
Deus Ex on meth. Frustrating but fair.
Let the fire of Ogun into your heart.

This game made Australia look safer than mexico, all the mutants and bandits WANNA kill you and its not self defense.
10/10, peak cinema.

Hidden gem
I enjoy Oaxaca
I like a lot of aspects of this game, and I appreciate the vibes - it's very Stalker, with some nice old school RPG elements like the OG Fallouts.
The difficulty isn't necessarily the turn off for me - it's that the game isn't nearly as free / open world as I feel it's billed to be. At least for the full chunk I've played, you pretty much have to go along with the main narrative to progress in the world at all. You can't find your way into another faction's camp right away, you can't sneak around and access other areas - there are some characters you have to interact with or kill to progress to another small area, where you have to interact with or kill more characters to progress more.
For example, ideally, when I ditched the banana farm right away and went to thug territory, there could be some way WITHOUT advancing the chapters & plot that I can access that area. And the forced plot moments (your companions abandoning you in chapter 2, etc) take away from that agency as well.
I would not recommend, but I'll keep an eye on future stuff from this dev.
One playthrough done, and I've enjoyed it a lot. It's one of those games that when everything suddenly clicks, there is no longer any jank, but rather intricately designed mechanics that you now can exploit to a very satisfying degree. Feels open ended and like there's a ton of stuff I've missed, so I'm diving straight back in!
Great immersive sim game. It reminds a lot of the original Deus Ex but with a more crazy world and with the jank factor up to 11. The dev is very dedicated to the maintenance of the game and positive towards player feedback. This game is a prime example that even without a fancy UI, realistic graphics, complex gimmicks and detailed animations you can still make an engaging and immersive experience. Beware though this game doesn't take you by the hand it just explain things with simple messages. The real learning is made by just playing, failing and retrying until you can do or get the result that you want to get.
