In Home Wars you’ll play as a General of a toy soldiers army, with the sole purpose of saving the owner’s house from the invasion of those damn Bugs.
The special feature of this game is that you can go instantly into first person towards any selected unit, getting a damage bonus for everything you'll hit.
In the Campaign, there are two different phases:
- the Home Mode, where you’ll have to manage, turn after turn, your Headquarters, recruit troops, buy ammunition, spy on enemies, unlock new units and decide the best moves for your armies
- the Battle Mode, playable in real time, where you’ll fight face to face with the enemy till the last soldier falls.
The Bugs will aim to collect as much food as possible, they will use it to create new lethal Swarms and to evolve their Nest. On the other side, you’ll have to prevent that and get the right resources to create an army able to fight off those creatures.
Use the versatile Infantry, the armored Vehicles, the powerful Artillery and the deadly Aircraft to destroy anything that has more than 4 legs!
You can also build defensive structures and traps to protect sensitive targets such as Outposts, Trucks, Supply Crates.
Stop the enemy invasion room by room, fight it in the main 3 types of battles and in the other secondary missions. Attack enemy’s convoys, defend satellites through intense aerial dogfights, protect surrounded recon squads using a powerful gunship and much more to win the War.
There is a technology tree that allows you to unlock more powerful units using the Experience gained on the battlefield.
In Home Wars there are no maintenance costs for armies, but you’ll have to buy gradually the ammunition your men need. You can buy 7,62mm, 12,7mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 150mm, 320mm, rockets, missiles, bombs … and much more.
As regards the bombs, there are four types of ammunition: High Explosive, Incendiary, Cluster and Toxic.
Every single shot in Home Wars has unique characteristics, so it's up to you to find the winning combination for each battle.
Show no mercy to the enemies, they want to kill us!
Do not hesitate to burn them alive with napalm, to poison them with insecticide or to trap them in barbed wire, because remember:
THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!

Amazing game and a classic. Highly reccomend if you want some simple nostalgic army men vs bugs gameplay. Dev is still working on a new Home wars game so id suggest getting home wars. To prepare for when that drops. I Reccomend this game fullheartedly along with Age of undead and dummy gummy battles. While home wars doesnt have multiplayer or much of the fancy stuff more modern games have like animations it has lots of bugs a fun campaign with good challenge. And A Hell of a lot of ways to burn bugs alive. Or gas them or blow them up. I Could go on forever point is home wars is a classic game from 2017 that more people should play.
For $7.99 this is indeed a bucket of plastic soldiers ready to take on the world.
Low key ass but low key amazing
this game is really fun
As much as I love the idea behind this game and the mechanics there are too many errors for me to keep playing. The movement never works properly (I lost a battle and all my troops because they kept moving into each other and wouldn't shoot), the balance is not particularly good (if you don't get a few key troops your campaign falls flat on its face), but on top of that in the middle of my campaign I had forgotten to save and I had made staggering progress but the game randomly crashed(I admit it is my fault for not saving but this game hit 1.0 a while ago and I didn't expect it to be a problem). Like I said I enjoy this game quite a bit but the problems it has makes it not fun for me to play.
I'm just playing home wars until HW: Battlefield releases,also i just wanted to play it too. BTW it is a actually good game.

Home Wars is a great game, if your patient and like army men this is a great game, and dont get me wrong it may get repetitive and ill take long breaks but ill always come back. Getting into a campaign in this game is addicting as you want to finish it as fast as possible and that makes the game fun, its a 9.5/10 and i reccomend it to all
I used to love this game when i was younger. But all the problems just keep adding up.
The missions arent fixed, when im defending a room The mission has me destroying the enemy base, when im attacking a room im defending my own base. Shouldn't it be the opposite? All the XP you get in the begining has to go to 3 specific units or you just cripple yourself. The UI seems like it was made from scratch and never updated, The special missions are nearly impossible unless you have 5-6 full armys of tier 4 troops minimum, you're never given enough battle points to make a good defence without sacrificing the units you can place before the mission begins.
It feels like its formulated to be difficult in a way that you have to play the game the way the developer wants you to play the game. You just loose otherwise. Its fine for when you are just getting into it, but every campaign is the same when you actually get into the game. I'll be modding this on my own time to make it playable again. But I cant recommend paying for this abandoned game.

Yes it's good
I remember buying this game after watching early access YouTube videos back in 2017. Despite having several bugs (unironically, no pun intended, some of them were really annoying and even game-breaking) and going through a period of abandonment, the game is in a better state now. That said, the developer has made it clear that development is permanently done, which is unfortunate because it leaves the game feeling like wasted potential. Sure, you could say all that’s needed is to refine the mechanics and fix the lingering bugs, but even then, it wouldn't live up to the expectations the community once had for it. The current state honestly feels like the bare minimum to justify calling it out of beta.
The game itself? To be honest, it's 'meh.' Cool in concept, but not the best execution. It’s tough for me to say I dislike it, though, since I’ve beaten it on all difficulty levels and maps, so I clearly got my money’s worth. But if I’d known ahead of time that the hiatus was essentially permanent as a solution, it would’ve been harder to have the motivation I once had to play. I totally get why people say it’s wasted potential, and I think they’re valid in feeling that way.
So overall, just be aware of the game’s development history and where it stands now when you’re deciding whether or not it’s worth picking up. My recommendation is more based on the personal experience I had growing up with it rather than the game’s current state or the expectations the community once had. With everything considered, it’s not an easy yes or no, it’s more of a "meh" to be frank. You’ll have to see for yourself if the flaws are something you can cope with.

I love this game iv'e had it since i was six this brings me back and the creator of this dibs to you i hope your whole game developement process goes great i have just been busy with other new games that almost make my graphics card burn but i still do play them but this game i love it its simple and it doesn't need a high quality wallet killing graphics card

Best game to play and have fun for an 1-2 hour time killer, great game! If your looking for a goofy military game with a good variety of units, this is it. I do not go outside
The only good bug is a dead one
game is really challgeing and fun you can goof off in the sand box mode.
