History is as yet unwritten
From the early Italian campaign to the battle of Waterloo, Total War: NAPOLEON covers two decades of relentless battles, a backdrop of a world in flames against which the story of an extraordinary military career unfolds.
Whether you play as the legendary general or against him, the outcome of war can never be guaranteed. The course of history relies on your ability to lead your troops through the most intense battles as never seen before in a Total War game.
About The Peninsular Campaign
The Peninsular Campaign is an independent campaign based on the conflict in the Spanish Peninsula between 1811 and 1814. It was during this era that the Spanish resistance gave their style of fighting its name: Guerrilla, or the “little war”.
Play the campaign from three different perspectives, each with a unique feel:
• The French fight to keep resistance at bay while converting regions to their political alignment.
• The British are very limited for regions at the start but receive enough income from Northern Europe and North America that they can afford to liberate regions back to the Spanish in return for Guerrilla aid.
• The Spanish also have a limited starting position but have permanent access to Guerrillas for effective battlefield use against the French.
Choose one of the three nations involved - France, Great Britain or Spain - and experience one of the most intense conflicts of the Napoleonic era.
Key Features:
• A new and independent Iberian Peninsula campaign map featuring 32 controllable regions.
• 5 new Guerrilla unit types, recruitable by all nations, adept at battlefield stealth and with the added ability to deploy outside of their faction's deployment zones: Tiradores (Skirmisher Infantry), Cazadores, Lanceros (Lancer Cavalry), Husares (Light Cavalry), Leader (General).
• 28 new units in total, spread across the three playable nations including the British 95th Rifles, the French Vistula Uhlans and the Spanish Coraceros Espanoles.
• Two new agents to enforce political conversion:
• Provocateurs (French and British nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions, incite unrest, decreases turn time for research and passively spy.
• Priests (Spanish and Portuguese nations only) have the ability to promote anti-opposition sentiment in regions and incite unrest.
• A new Guerrillero agent for the Spanish nation: similar to a Spy but with the new ability to Harass enemy armies - lock them in place for a turn and cause them attrition.
• Political Alignment system which sees the French battle to increase pro-French sentiment throughout the peninsula.
About Coalition Battle Pack
The Coalition Battle Pack features 6 brand new units and contains the Battle of Friedland fought between France and Russia.
The Battle of Friedland (14 June, 1807) with Napoleon's empire at its height, he took a chance and defeated Russia in detail, knocking them out of the war and bringing the Fourth Coalition to an end.
Unit Descriptions:
• Lifeguard Hussars: This fast light cavalry unit is best used for dealing with skirmishers and artillery who can attack from long range.
• Coldstream Guards: Disciplined, well-trained and respected, these elite foot guards inspire nearby troops in battle.
• Archduke Charles' Legion: This highly-disciplined line infantry regiment excels at weapons drill and accuracy.
• Luetzow's Freikorps: Swift light cavalry, the riders of Luetzow’s Freikorps are excellent in melee and on the charge.

4 swiss foot and 3 old guards beat 2 full cavalry setups. I love this game
Great game, very addicting, there's nothing a good solid line of Prussian Musketeers!
There are no good total war games because they are all fundamentally flawed. They get old very quickly when you realize that every 'start' is just a limitation that you need to strategize around instead of being like an actual strategy game such as Eu4 or even RTS games where you can adapt meaningfully. Every turn in every total war game plays the same because you either stick to a strategy or get blown out on a 'hard' start since you didn't watch or read a reddit post telling you exactly what to do.
What an outstanding game. I've played 1,500 hours of it over 2 accounts.
Think of this game moreso as a template for mods. The vanilla experience is quite arcadey and the grand campaign is lacking as most nations are unplayable. With extensive modding, however, this game becomes about the best napoleonic tactical experience on the market - if you're too much of a troglodyte to get into Scourge of War, like me.
I recommend the legendary Napoleonic: Total War 3 mod for multiplayer enthusiasts, and for singleplayer, the new TOTAL ERA project for NTW - it includes numerous campaigns that stretch from 1700 to 1870.
A great total war that is old but gold and deserves to be remastered and made better
Fun and big big battles, cant wait to get good lol
pretty good if you are into the napoleonic wars but if you want to play a more sandbox version get empire instead still pretty good 9/10
They don't make games like this anymore unfortunately. Absolutely epic. Even though it's an old game now, it's aged quite well, though the graphics could use some remastering
Play through, get a mod, play through again, get another mod, mod through again, mod another mod, mod mod modother mod, mod mod mod mod mods!!!
Still an outstanding and realistic recreation of ancient Rome.
I wish it had more factions but I still highly recommend. More polished than TW: Empire and just a good game to do sandbox battles
well its a very good game the only and ONLY problam is the bugs if your fine with that this game i guess its for you and the bugs are very bad i would recommend this game if there was no bugs i even like the game but the bugs maked me stop sadly
Absolutely the worst tutorial in any Total War game! If you click at the wrong moment you will become stuck forever while listening to the terribly racist voice-over monologues telling you to "walk to Paris!" when u cannot because you clicked the wrong part of the screen and the game will not even allow you to hit ESCAPE button and cancel.
I have several copies of Medieval which will not run at all on my computer and I hate this tutorial more.
Best Napoleonic wars game I ever played. Every campaign and battle mode was amazing. Definitely buy it if you love the Napoleonic wars or historical battles in Europe during the late 18th and early 19th century.
ALRIGHT. so, if i were to describe this game, i would spend HOURS describing this game. im not gonna do that tho, so quick breakdown;
STORY: pain and suffering, in the name of napoleon. (or blucher idk man you pick)
PLAY BATTLE: basically quick battle, extremely fun, and i love making my own battles and watching as my lines crumble when im no looking properly.
MULTIPLAYER: why so mean to me :( (they basically are rude to new players and dont play with you much, son just grind the story first and hope they like you more :/) its fun ig, too many sweats. find someone to play with, or smth.
LAND BATTLES: watching my infantry cry as they get demolished by the 200000 flaming metal balls in the sky is so cool.
SIEGE: me in fort: RAHAHAYAYAYAAHHAHHAA!! me out fort: NOOOOOOOO LET ME IN STOP SHOOTING ME ON THE WALLS WAHHHH10827&*!&@*)@^ me out fort with howitzer: muhhehehehehhehe...
OCEAN: boat shoot gun, other boat explode.
its a fun game, and heres some advice;"if the enemy has some cavalry, expect some fuckery.." - a wise man
Not well optimized at all. Crashes constantly and caps settings now.
this game is generally Empire total war but without some nice functions, my opinion is 8/10
fun and historically pretty amazingly accurate
Love them you have 1500 solider and fighting againt 5000 enemy solider and winnig the battel
Great game, need remaster tho that would be epic. Other wise great core total war game.
I love the game but when I go to the website to get mods it starts to get complicated.
>Order Fusiliers of Line to engage charging enemies with musket fire at 20 yards with zero obstructions
>The volley somehow only kills 3
>Suddenly the charging enemy ai bugs out in melee mode before clashing into my lines
>Order 18/18 General Staff to flank the enemy from the rear to unscrew their mistake out of desperation
>Second volley goes through the enemy (5 kills) and instantly vaporizes the entirely of my general staff
>Lose the match
My mistake for even daring to use my general for combat but like. Damn.
This game still holds well considering its age, still miles better than the crap the have released recently. Well worth a buy!
great game. probably the best in regards to land and sea war.
If you love Napoleonic era history, this game is for you. Optimization is problematic even 15+ years later--even with a robust PC rig. Mods thus improve the experience considerably. With that being said, the vanilla version is solid and a respectful tribute to the little general.
Napoleon, despite being over 15 years old at the time of writing this, still has beautiful battles. The soundtrack is another part of the game that adds to the grandeur of any campaign. It would be wonderful if Creative Assembly came out with a remastered Napoleon + Empire game that extended the depth of Europe in Napoleon to the entire world. I have some great memories of holding a river crossing with a few infantry and two cannons on canister shot. I hope that CA goes back to making or remastering more historical titles.
Ever wondered what it's like to rule over the Lands Between as the Elden Lord? Well, keep wondering, because you won't find anything like that here. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a story-rich classical RPG from Owlcat Games, developers of the critically acclaimed game, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Slaughter the enemies of Mankind in a fully-fledged isometric turn-based tactical combat. Take advantage of cover, the environment, and careful positioning to overpower your enemies. When that is not enough - use your companion`s powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle and achieve victory even in the direst of situations. Our video game adaption of the classic Rogue Trader ruleset allows an enormous number of possibilities for you to explore.
i like playing Prussia- i beat the french back to Paris and everyone else just falls in line- up the AI to Hard--ok everyone hates me---for no reason . Great game not mindless battle.
It's a great game, but the ai is so braindead it takes most of the fun away, almost every battle in the campaign ended up having the austrians mindlessly charge into my line and create a giant mosh pit.
Very fun multiplayer. Can relive the old musket and canon era warfare
For vanilla ? No, but mod ? Yes. I'd recommend you try NTW3 as it's more fun in camping and battle took like 40 minutes.
not much to say, fun game, decent graphics, pretty good controls. 9/10
TONIGHT ON BOTTOM GEAR:
I defeat the austrians using artillery only,
Hammond accidentaly kills napoleon by sending him to sit in the middle of a field
And James gets stuck in cormwall
This game is amazing! The graphics and gameplay hold up to this day, I highly recommend it to everyone into Napoleonic Strategy
perfect' very good gameplay and perfect units.
You should look up the better graphics mod - once activated, this is an awesome game.
Naval battles and artillery pieces are fun. Not the biggest map, but worth it anyway imo if you have an interest in the era
Despite its vast scope, the game's controls are intuitive enough for beginners to quickly grasp even the more complicated aspects of the battle portions. Big fan of conquering Britain.
The only issue I have with this game is the graphics and that it has a fairly shallow campaign. However, if you like napoleonic battles, I would highly recommend this game.
Very fun and good game, Line battles and such. Mods are great and still a active community enough of one at least, so must be pretty okay.
I found the game lacking in just about every category! Don't buy it, it's a waste of time!
fun game, as someone coming from empire, takes a tad-bit of adjusting, but not a crazy amount.
the only real difference is a more fleshed-out, 'proper' game, and maybe a couple minor changes like movement speed and so forth; with the obvious exception being the fact that it's napoleon, and not during a broader 'late 1700s' kind of game.
I believe it's a better purchase, though I am not sure at what price this is at. Get it for sale.
very fun to watch battles from a birds eye view
Definitely have to play with mods. I recommend LME4 for the best experience.
Paly with Darth Mode, and you will have a superb time playing.
I think it was really smart of CA to break this games main campaign into 3 parts. From a historical story-telling perspective it just made more sense.
the best napoleonic war game
with huge battles
bought this game for a friend and tried the multiplayer campaign where we tought we could play against the ai, but instead you have to either autoresolve the battles or you have to play against eachother. I dont reccomend if you're trying to play with a friend.
Literally the best RTS game I've ever played, great mods, voice lines, music, co-op, and tons of fun. If I had the money I would remaster the game into a more modern one.
I think that the game is somewhat decent. But theres far too many bugs. NIGGA :D
