There are 12 short paths to wander through, first 7 are pretty linear, then the last few are a little tricky. Finish it in under an hour.
Calming music walking-simulator with tranquil backgrounds. For $1 i can't complain.
Unlike most games where you just slide along boundaries when you hit them, here you get stuck and stop moving on touching the footpath edge.
Gravity Quest is another bit of Russian shovelware, this time a minimalist 3D first person maze game. There's one gimmick, gravity reverse pads occasionally, so sometimes you need to finish the maze upside down. Or whatever. There's not much of interest to gamers here, there's many better entries in a somewhat weak genre.
The game is very very short and can be finished in 30 minutes. Developers have at least some responsibility to provide enough content to make a game last more than 2 hours if they're serious about providing something of value to gamers. There's less content here than some free game demos.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
One huge problem, for me, the developer decided my monitor is 1920x2160 (!??!?!), so the game appears in mobile phone pillarboxed ratio, and that can't be changed. I suspect that will be a problem for many other gamers as well. This is why it's crucial developers must never decide they know more about hardware than the gamers do, because this is proof they don't. Gamers must always be able to set their own custom game properties, resolution and so on. Not negotiable!
The game features lazy minimalist assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it.
The game only displays in mobile phone style ultra-pillarboxed aspect ratio. This is just one of many indications this was developed to be a mobile app and not a serious PC game. It's not acceptable for developers to dump garbage like this on Steam when it's not even formatted or designed to run properly on modern PC gaming displays, to the point that this could be considered insulting.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
Also, no audio controls, so there's no way to turn off the annoying background music. Ugh.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
Gravity Quest is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
