This game is absolutely terrible and should actually be free on Steam. This is a clunky, low-budget, indie developed space corridor shooter made with the Unity engine. Camera movement is jittery and not smooth. There are several loading screens that look like cheap Unity loading screens. You cannot manually save. Objectives are too easy and boring and do not seem to trigger properly. There is also no story, you just shoot alien bugs. You run out of ammo quickly and shooting the guns feels lame and cheap. In fact, everything about this game seems cheap. I cannot recommend this game at all.
I'm almost (?) through (sector 26) and so far I can tell, the game gives me a permanent chicken skin (creeps). It is not that really scary and sometimes predictable (exit shafts visible before you go somewhere and turn your back towards it, then enemies crawl out of it) but it is constantly creepy due to sounds and music choices.
BUT: The sounds for door opening is to loud! It blasts my ears out when I use headphones.
its a god game but it plays more likw a survivel game then a horor game ammumition is to plenteful the puzzles ar to easy and the game very short i hope the Devs ad more monsters exampel flying exploding enemys or enemys that kan walk on wals the generater room is the perfect room to introduce thes enemys and the game is missing music
Conclusin: its a god game but it is not worth 10 Dollars in its present state
The Game is kind of boring game
No Story in the game ,few enemy in the game and sound is nothing
not recommend
Return to Planet X
Corridor like FPS with drab-repetitive sci-fi environment where you move from one room to another in a linear manner and clear them of alien creatures - game is slow paced and very easy/short ( so play on last difficulty for a challenge ) - i liked the weapons design/selection and the fact that they had recoil so i recommend this title at the price that i have paid 7€ !
At current price I would recommend purchasing this game. Short game but entertaining. I would like to see more to this game.
PROS:
- Sound is good
- Zero Glitches
- Gameplay UI is intuitive.
CONS
- It's a bit short as it took me only 4 hours on normal to complete.
- There are no bosses but plenty of critters to kill.
- I cant say the replay is very high.
Not bad, though poor in variety regarding environment, environmental ambience and enemies.
Kinda boring but a solid foundation in an indie fps. I hope to see more from these guys.
Starship Troopers & Aliens had a kid that was accidentally dropped on it's head but was still lovable & cute. There were a few bugs (pun intended) but the level design was solid and weapons were alot of fun. Might need a bit of optimisation but still worth it.
I really liked this game. It was a lot of fun. I wish it was longer and had more puzzles. The last wiring puzzle was fun. You could have more open areas with puzzles solving in order to move on. The flashlight is a little irritating as you have to stop in the dark and wait for it to recharge. There could be upgrades for that. Waiting for more content. I really like the basic concept type games like this.
this game is awesome I'd totaly would recomend you play this game
Enjoyed the game. Ran flawlesly on my Linux machine. Hope there'll be additional content in the future.
Sound design is mediocre, and I'm not saying this just to insult. Here is my feedback.
Firstly, when looking at proper sound design you need six things to be in shape.
-Panning: sound direction between left and right output.
-Balance: Prioritiztion of sound, what needs to be heard. Usually dialogue in top priority
-Equalization: Managing your frequencies. Bass-treble Low-High.
-Dynamics: When things are loud or soft and when they need to be loud or soft
-Levels: Technical standpoint of the waves output level. In this games case it is too much, the sound clips often
-Dimensions: Reverb, Delay. This directly correlates to atmosphere in parrallel with everything above
Footsteps: They are very dry, and their volume should be lowered slightly. They need a touch of reverb in order to give them that metalic room vibe and overall this should help in atmosphere.
Atmosphere: From what I've heard, there is none. A consistant deep bass drone tone is not going to give you any form of atmosphere especially with how random and inappropriate its placement is. I never feel like I am in the rooms that I am actually in. This is as simple as going into a room with the desired sound, recording the silence of the room, then placing that sound file to play in the corresponding rooms of the game
Door Sounds: Clipping... Lower the output level of the sound or use a better soundwave. P.s. Doors make sounds when they finish closing or opening, one electronic sound wont make the cut.
Pistol: Sounds cartoonish, like a stock sound even. I suggest making its pitch higher and shortening the decay so the sound doesnt play so long. Or jsu tuse a different sound altogether.
Flamethrower: sounds good.
Now for the Game Design aspect.
Questiosn to ask yourself when making a game.
"Why is this fun?" If you cannot answer this question quickly, then odds are you aren't making a fun game. This game gave me the same vibe as a previous game I had worked with "Space Beast Terror Fright" and that game was adrenaline filled and action packed and kept you on your toes. This felt like a slower, less interesting version.
Movement: I actually really like the movement in this game, the character feels like they have weight, walking feels good, aiming feels good. Character leans in a minimal fashion, and in general I feel like a person, not a video game character.
Enemies: enemies walking in a straight line is not interesting unless the gameplay is built around it. These little bugs should be on walls, jumping, scurrying, quick abript movements. not slowly walking towards you.
WHAT I WANT TO SEE
I see this game uses the same assets and such from a previosu title you made. That title has mixed results, and makign a game that looks the same will also leave you with mixed results. The visuals dont look improved, the sounds are reused, and It's not somethign people will look at and say "I want more of that"
I would rather see what more you guys can do, as I see potential in how you make your games. there is definitely some knowhow going on but it needs more work and application.
My advice, don't stop making games.
