VRtender

It spawns me in the floor for some reason. Has anybody else had this issue and/or know how to fix it? I really want to play!

Experienced on the Oculus Rift & Windows Mixed Reality

Note for Oculus users: game starts with your body below ground. Have to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix to fix this issue. Also, you do need a rather large play space as far as to your sides.

I officially declare this game the *best* deal of the Steam Summer Sale 2018. At .49 cents you're getting not the best game, but a pretty good one as long as you can accept the game for what it is. Obviously, this game is about serving drinks in a bar and it works, even if it is a bit rough around the edges and not very pretty to look at.

The graphics are what you'd expect from a .99 cents game. Your customers are basically cube people. There's no talking or much sounds, other than some random background noises and the jukebox playing an old tune. However, you're making real drinks. I had no idea how to make most of them, but luckily all you have to do is click on the customer and they will tell you via text above their head. Not ideal, but at least you're learning how to make real-life drinks.

Is this super realistic? No. There's no mention of how much you should put of each liquid. This is basically just giving you the ingredients and you're supposed to mix it all in with little regards to the quantities into the correct type of container. You're not shaking the tumblers or doing anything fancy. You're not Tom Cruise in Cocktail. This is very basic.

Each night you make money, which you can then purchase more items to make the orders more interesting. You have to survive each night by not messing up too many orders. However, you're not told what is the safety net. So you'll fail and not know precisely why, but you'll have a general idea. The gameplay is not fast-paced like some other bar tending VR or cooking games, but it is fast enough to give you a realistic feel of being a bartender at a busy bar. Beware: the ice does melt rather quickly and customers can give you fake IDs.

The major issues I encountered were some of the interactions. Glasses would sometimes fly across the room whenever they would collide with something. Also, just picking up some of the items could be difficult because they need to be properly highlighted. Also, keeping the tap down on the beer tap was tricky and liquids wouldn't spill out of containers.

It was only .49 cents. If you want a better experience try Flairtender or Bartender VR, but those will set you back a lot more than this game. Honestly, I think this game offers the best value for your money as far as bartending VR games go.

Rating 7/10. You won't find too many better experiences at this price range, plus I learned how to make several real-life drinks.

There's better bartending games out there for free.

VRtender is a $4.99 game that lets you be a bar tender. Hold on to your stools but this game is god aweful bad. Let's explain why.

The game expects you to know the drinks the customer want's and expects you know the name of the glassware but wait you can ask the customer the recipe of their drink but shouldn't the bartender know the drinks...oh that's right there is no list of the drinks anywhere.

The customers are too impationt to wait for a drink that have 4-5 ingrediants.

Pouring beer and whiskey takes to long, even in the shot glass it takes to long.

The customers will show I.D. You can pick the I.D. but that is it. The customer will leave because of waiting to long. There is nothing you can do and if you can the game doesn't tell you what to do.

There is no training to teach you what to do. The game basically says "your bar good luck" and that is it.

VRtender gets a 4/10. Its an okay game but I wouldn't really recommend this until a training simulation is added or a list of how the drinks are made is added.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but this game just isn't quite up to par. I like the idea, and the gamplay is decent - when it works. I believe that this game could be fantastic with just a few improvements. Mostly, the controls; it is almost unplayable.

Your hands are not aligned with the controllers, and your grab point is not fixed to your hands so it's a lot of clunky guess work, all the while, you are fumbling around knocking over glasses and the ice machine keeps thinking that you've touched it. It has a lot of potential but the dev just couldn't stick the landing on this one.

Every time I start up this game it takes forever, is laggy and doesn't put me into the VR for forever. Then when it does, it spawns me into the floor, and every time I turn around and try to move my hands it doesn't recognize the hands, it glitches and takes forever to respond to my headset movement, and to top it off it crashes saying my HDMI cable isn't connected, which it is. Please fix these bugs or refund me my money. Thanks.

it says it's missing the d3d cache bin and that it is uncooked

I haven't played much of the game but from what I have done so far, I really like it. The game is far from perfect and could use some tweaking (like making grabbing things more intuitive and a way to save career) but it's a really fun game to relax with.

It's fun but personally give this a 6/10 for the moment.
There are some things that detract from the experience and it honestly feels like it should have been an early access game.

-Using the grip buttons to grab items seems odd since every other game uses the Vive trigger buttons to grab. Many times, the objects don't register properly so I find myself struggling to pick up a liquor bottle.

-I wish there were a save button for career mode, since there's been more than one occasion it'll crash or I've accidently exited from the game and find that I have to restart the career mode from square one. Also, I can't seem to figure out if there's a menu button to go back to the main menu??

-There's lack of ambiance and the music can be off-putting. I wish there were bar noises like glasses clinking, people conversating, and more upbeat music to get the bar mood going.

-I have no clue how to unlock Arcade Mode and there seems to be no information in-game that I can find either.

-I got to day 15 and found myself getting bored. I feel there's a lack of goals and there's too much wait time between customers, which take me out of the immersion.

-A clock on the wall that indicates how far you are into the night would give a better sense of time instead of am I getting 3 customers tonight or am I getting 6?

-Temporary upgrades to purchase during play like beer nuts to help calm down an angry customer or a special garnish for a drink to boost tips would be a great mechanic.
