This game turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Kind of.
Things I liked:
- Graphics. They actually are pretty charming. Character design is not bad at all, slow change of MC's sprite is a welcome detail, and CGs are especially nice to look at!
- Horror stuff. It actually has a lot of tension and can be surprisingly creepy.
- Different MCs. They have different dynamics in the romances, so it does add a bit of flavour. And romances didn't make me cringe.
What is questionable:
- Different MCs. Unfortunately, plot resolution remains the same between MCs, and some things can be a bit..weird. Like, how in jealousy events everyone is angry with Brandon, but heartbroken with Kaitlyn. Or how everyone are immediately infatuated with Kaitlyn, but only have friend vibes with Brandon. And when I say everyone, I mean it.
- Romances choices. Step-sister? Ex-teacher with age gap? Ex-babysitter? Talk about creepy.
- Ending "variations". They are useless. Change literally 1 line of dialogue in the epilogue and that's it. Doesn't really worth the effort you need to put in to get them. And getting 1000$ is unnecessary hard (and again, just 1 line of dialogue).
What's bad:
- Music. Atrocious. The worst. Bleeding from ears.
- It get's repetitive real fast.
- Villain is pathetic and their defeat feels rushed.
- Technical stuff. Like Ashley and Brandon acting like total strangers in Sabrina route (because Ashley was added as a character, but this event stayed as it was), or achievement for jealousy triggering only on the next run week 6.
- Been forced into two-timing situation. Like, guys, chill. Just because we flirted a bit, doesn't mean I'm your boyfriend/girlfriend now. And it's reaaaally weird how you can't reject your step-sister.
Despite many shortcomings, I actually enjoyed this game. I find it charming. I only recommend it on HUGE sale though.
I liked it but I don't really want to play it over for all endings, especially since i didn't get enough points for the initial Epilogue. Wish i could just view them all. Would recommend if you like dating sims.
This game was good. I liked it well enough to play as the male MC and romance all 5 of the ROs. Not sure if I like it enough for replay value tho, or to play as the female perspective and re-romance everyone again. I've loved most games by Winter Wolves, so I definitely still enjoyed this, and may go back later on to play the other perspectives. But for now, I'm calling it done. There were some pros and cons to it tho, as with every game that will be below for anyone interested.
PROS:
* Great CGs and BGs
* Loved the story/fantasy going on within the game: You play an MC whose been cursed, slowly becoming aware of it and realizing there's a more supernatural side to their world, and working on fixing/getting rid of their curse.
* The stat raising aspect with the jobs is fun for a first time play-through (after that, it sorta becomes monotonous)
* There's slight ending variations with each RO and how they choose to help you with your curse problem which = different endings.
* A nice 10hr play through for the Male MC and the 5 ROs, including having skipped read text. So this game is actually bigger than I thought and will definitely be more hrs if I were to play the Female MC and romance the 5 ROs again.
Cons:
* Grammar mistakes/sentences (enough that I was noticing it)
* Gallery doesn't have a set of the still images you earn with each RO, only replay scenes that lead to that as far as I could tell (would have preferred both or just the still images if possible)
* Game mechanics I personally dislike: Such as the need to romance all ROs until you have to break things off with them, the job raising stats, date/buy gift mechanics
* Low replay value. There's not really a need to go back and replay after having already romanced your favorite ROs, because the story is pretty much the same on each route with just varying differences.
*Achievements are harder to grab. For me I would say the harder to grab achievements are the money stat achievement, as well as the jealousy scene achievements for both MCs.
In the end, I probably would have liked it better if there were more RO focused routes with the MCs and earned images besides the ending ones. I definitely still recommend this game even if it wasn't in my top favorite Winter Wolves games tho, because the story and art was still really good. It's definitely worth at least one or 5 replays with all the ROs!
So, I have only played this for a few minutes and already decided to give it back. It is a shame since I liked other games of Winter Wolves, especially Loren the Amazon Princess, but this one is not my cup of tea at all. All the possible love interests are way too broad and/or muscular in my opinion. Each and every one of them. In fact the only character i find remotely pleasing to look at is the female and male main characters themselfs. Thought he male one is already pushing it in my opinion. Also, while I have just played for a short time the options are way too obvious and mundane so far. I mean, of course you should tell a person you are interested in that you think they are a liar or that you condemn their working place froma moralic standard *eye roll* *sarcasm* The first impression I had of the possible love interests character was also...meh. The closest to an interesting first impression that it came was Sabrina and her appearance and behaviour scream way too much "rebelling teenager" for me to even be remotely interested in her. That the main character (the female at least) let her dog drag her all over the place made a bad impression on me as well. I mean, ghosh, that is a tiny dog, just keep the leash in your hand for heavens sake.
I do appreciate that you can choose the gender and all romance options are still open to you no matter, which gender you choose. I also think the story could possibly be really interesting. Though in that case I would need a version, where I could ignore the love interest completely, because, honestly, I have no interest in them whatsoever. Also, without the stat-raising the game mechanics seems dull.
This is the first negative review I have to write, but honestly, 20€ for this? No way.
Hello Steam user who is wondering if this little visual novel is worth their time. I'm going to tell you right now that the answer is a sad no which is actually quite frustrating because I really wanted to like this game. It has everything I like in stories like this. It has mystery and intrigue and romance and supernatural elements to enrich the world and yet how it's executed is like something cobbled together like a blind drunk monkey on a typewriter. Seriously, the mechanics in this game are not great. We're not talking 1931 Scheherazade bad but they are not good and they really bogged down what could've been a great cheesy Halloween visual novel.
Pros
– Art. This is a Winter Wolves game so the one thing that they've managed to be consistent in is in good art direction and for this project they really nailed it with the unique character designs as well is the art style being a little bit more cartoony for that Halloween charm as well as the nice autumn colors. No complaints on this front.
– The concept. I like the idea of the main character slowly succumbing to a curse isn't original all but that was probably the best thing about this game. The dream sequences in particular were especially great in really adding to the suspense and the slow psychological horror of realizing something is wrong but not being able to do a damn thing about it. If there were more of them in this game then this would not be a negative review.
– The characters. Despite how frustrated I am with this game I'm only really frustrated because of how I enjoyed the characters. Each one of the love interest had a specific goal in mind other than romance and each felt like an individual instead of just a cookie-cutter generic supernatural love interest to romance.
– The music. Nails the tone, especially during the dream sequences.
Cons
– the job week mechanics. Honestly this was just a terrible idea. For each one of the love interest you work one day a week at their job idea which I guess would be fine if the game didn't force you to have to work all of those jobs at the same time which means you're working on every romance path until the game forces you to pick one over halfway through which just kills any real inclination to do any replaying since you basically have already seen most of the scenarios except for the last couple. Also the money mechanic and presents was pointless unless you're aiming for a steam achievement. The two different endings for whatever stat you were building up don't have enough variation to bother reading through... If this was implemented differently or if you could just pick one romance interest to be on right off the bat then this wouldn't have been so bad but the fact that you're forced to do all the romance paths until near the end is just ludicrous.
– Continuity. Yet another problem that's introduced because you're playing every romance path at the same time. The scenes themselves are written pretty damn well most of the time but they often contradict each other because whoever was writing them didn't seem to be realizing that they were to be all played it once so sometimes they reference events that never actually happened or characters you know are suddenly treated as strangers because you're not actively romancing them. As a writer this thoroughly irritates me. This is especially prevalent with the character of Ashley but I feel like that's mostly because she was a later addition but still it's really noticeable and ruins my suspension of disbelief which you never want to when you're doing fiction.
– The second person narration. Okay this actually doesn't bother me as much as it has other reviewers because I thought the second person really worked during the dream sequences because it added to the suspense and horror but for the regular portions of the game it's just kind of jarring and there is a reason why second person narration is not common and it's mostly because it's just awkward to read. It almost feels surreal in a lot of ways which again why I think it works well for the dream sequences but not so much for the regular portions.
– The mystery is never solved. I would blank this out as a spoiler but I feel like this is a spoiler people should actually see before they buy. Like it's never really explained why you're cursed, at least on in any of the routes I've done and the more routes you do I feel like the less you learn which is not how it's supposed to go. Honestly it's really feels like the dick who cursed you just did it because they are a priggish dick and that's not really the answer was looking for in a game that was hinting at something more.
Neutral
– the stepsister romance. Okay this actually doesn't bother me but then again I'm used to anime that has ACTUAL vomit inducing incest so the fact that they're just stepsiblings with no blood shared makes me feel better already. I can see where this would be a major turnoff for other people and kind of wish that they had a friendship option with her instead of full-blown romance.
Honestly this thing feels like a wasted opportunity or missed potential due to bad mechanics and the fact that not only is the story cobbled together poorly but does not actually like answering questions. The fact that he even played it more than once is attributed to my like of the characters who really deserved a better put together game that actually answers the questions it poses as well is capitalizing more on the Halloween spirit which it tries to emulate.
If you do really want to try out this game I suggest a sale because twenty dollars is definitely too steep for such a frustrating product
I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt I needed to for this one.
If you're like me, and you still give things a shot despite mixed reviews, please wait til it's massively on sale. This is not worth the $19.99 tag. I can normally power through a game so I can at least get through it once - not this time. I found this to be a very, very boring game, which sucks because I really wanted to love this because of the horror aspect of it. I liked the stress/energy management aspect of the game and, for the most part, the art, though.
Cute game. It's a fun quick story to play through and replaying as the other sibling and a new love interest was just as entertaining as the first playthorugh.
This game has many good points. The art is good. You can pick a gender. And for a lot of us, urban fantasy is like the fiction version of crack. I fully expected beforehand that this wouldn't be in my top ten VNs ever, and I'm modifying my rating based on the price, and what looks to be a small company style. I don't recommend the game, however (especially at a price of fifteen dollars) for one simple reason.
The structure. The game is structured so that, as you go along, you get scenes with every single possible love interest. You don't start dropping any of these routes until well into the game. So for your first playthrough you're bored because you spend a LOT of time on at least a couple routes you don't have any interest in.
But that would be acceptable. The problem is that this absolutely kills the replay value. You can try to pursue other routes in a new game, but now you've already read almost all of these scenes in your first and subsequent playthroughs. The scenes don't change until you're nearing the end of the game. The dream scenes, while providing a bit of atmosphere, only add even more to this issue. The only variety come in a few inconsequential choices which change two to four lines before the scene goes right back on track to what you've already read before. If you use the 'skip read' option, you'll soon find there isn't very much content for the new route you're trying at all. Perhaps three scenes, before it goes to the end card.
I haven't played a game from this company before, so I don't know if this sort of structure is standard for them, but it heavily grated on me throughout my time playing. I did one route, and liked it well enough, even if I was a bit bored. I did a second route, and was irritated throughout. I couldn't make it all the way through the third route I tried.
If it happens to go on sale at any point, sure, get it. If fifteen dollars isn't as much to you as it is to me, feel free to get it. It's far from the worst game ever. But if I can offer advice? Be sure to space out your playthroughs so that you don't get bored with it instantly. Or you'll need to keep up with the skip option.
I really liked this game! I did both main chars (male / female siblings) and all romances and they're so cute! Light and fun.
Not sure why I waited so long to buy it, I had it on my wishlist since forever. I think Kaitlyn's appearance turned me off at first, when I saw the pictures on Steam, but while playing it I started liking all chars.
I was SO disappointed with this game! For $20, I was expecting a lot more. My first issue, albeit a small one, is the sheer number of typos in the text. For a game that is a single step away from a straight up visual novel, I expected a rich, well-done story. The plot is pretty linear. Your choices make little to no difference to the direction of the story. You are literally forced into dating all of the "love interests" (male AND female no matter who you play, including your step-sister), and then forced to dump them and lose your income within a couple of weeks (not play time; this game was beaten in a few hours). I worked through the game three times trying to earn enough points to get Vicktor's ending and when I finally did, it was a HUGE let-down. There are a couple of places where a character will refer to an action you flat out didn't do, or refer to something that you didn't choose. It's very clear from those mistakes that the choices mean nothing; you're going to end up in the same room with the same guy no matter who you choose to date. And forget about getting any answers about your "condition". Overall, this game should not be tagged as "choices matter", but rather straight up visual novel. Also, all the female characters look like roided out Amazons.
This was a pretty fun little game. Definitely would buy it on sale though, not worth the price tag.
I, personally lost interest the more playthroughs I did and the whole thing felt sort of stale after just a few hours. Instead of extra lore being revealed, more questions just cropped up. But instead of being head scratches, they were just more of the same: questions and no answers. Gets boring real fast.
The writing was pretty fun. A little morbid, a little light hearted. Generally just fun. The town sort of has a Welcome to Nightvale-type vibe to it that the MC is literally just noticing despite having lived there all their life.
It was also really cute how every.single romanceable character was into your selected twin. Gender didn't matter, they were free with the flirting and eager to date the MC. So eager that sometimes they misunderstood professional distance for being 100% totally into them (which was a little weird but okay).
But the gameplay? Not as complex as I hoped for in terms of game mechanics. The only checks (money/romance) happen at the end of the game, don't influence the plot, and most of them aren't unique enough to be worth the effort (and even then the effort isn't that hard). I feel like they could have removed the entire week-job system because it wasn't a very good sim system and honestly not that fun. (especially since the flavor text on the jobs when you did them were RNG and didn't have that deep an RNG pool so it got tedious, probably should have just cut that bit out tbh)
The plot only branches when you pick a love interest, and by that point you suddenly aren't allowed to interact with all the other romanceable characters (which is kind of a let down game, c'mon).
Also a bit of a let down that there wasn't any voice acting. I was expecting something more cheesy considering the trailer, but I guess that's my own fault for not looking at any reviews.
The writing was good and fun, as I said, but starts to fall apart the more you play the game to find different endings. You're left with more questions than answers. You begin to suspect this is a sequel to another game for all the lore they dangle in front of you and never really elaborate on.
And my absolute BIGGEST qualm: you can't bag Damian. You can't even be polite to that guy. Just SAYIN. I thought that would have been REAL NEAT to even yanno TALK TO HIM. He's got a CAPE. I WANTED THAT CAPED CREEPER. SO BAD. (Also why doesn't Tristen ever get more shade??? Or a proper fukkin introduction?? I have no idea he was the bartender my first few routes)
Its a good game, interesting story line where the main character (Kaityn or Brandon) slowly turns into a monster throughout the game. While this is happening, you romance 1 of 4 characters, all of which are very entertaining!
What I was disappointed about is the lack of choice the game offers. You can only pick between 4 characters to romance and the main game takes only 3 hours to complete.Sure, you could replay and see all the endings, but there is too little content in my opinion for the price. If this game is on sale, then definitely pick it up!
Pros:
+Charming love interests (Viktor especially was very cute)
+You can romance a mad scientist. I always wanted to romance a mad scientist. You can also romance a witch, a werelion and a vampire huntress, I mean come on, that's pretty interesting.
+Some scenes were genuinely creepy. (it's a horror game after all, so this is a good thing)
+You can choose the gender of your protagonist, I like games that give you that option.
Cons:
-The side characters were used horribly. We get introduced to the protagonist's friends in the beginning, only that they never appear again.
-It has only one gc per route. For its price, I expected better. Maybe they should have added some scary gcs to create a "creepier" atmosphere since it's supposed to be a horror game after all.
-I noticed some typos. Come on now Winter Wolves, you can fix those things before publishing your games.
I only recommend this game on a sale. I found it enjoyable , but the price is probably too much for what it is.
Big thing to keep in mind while reading this, I only played an hour of this game. I got to the start of the third week, asked myself if I really liked this, and decided to go through with a return while I could.
If you're looking for a casual dating sim with a monster twist and some cute art, you may find this intresting and enjoyable if you spend some time with it. The characters are intresting and the gameplay is rather simple so anyone can get into it rather quickly.
If you were lead to this game because of Monster Prom or Dream Daddy, like I was, I personally don't recomend it. I went into the game expecting more choices, a faster pace, and something silly but fun. Overall I found the game to be rather boring, dragging, and just not as much fun as I was expecting.
I did quit the game rather early so I may be missing out on something really fun and cool, but right now I just don't see a good reason to stick with it right now. I may pick this up later and be willing to dive a little further into the game, but right now I'd rather place my money towards something else.
Winter Wolves is almost always a good bet, and when ever they put out a game that covers my particular interests I jump on them. And again I was not dissapointed.
While the game play was signifigantly shorter for this game compared to others I have bought from WW, I can not truely count that as a negative. Honestly it felt alot more like reading a VN and it was relaxing not to have to keep track of a bunch of different game mechanics. Not to say there were no game mechanics, as you still have to mind your stress level and energy, but for me atleast those things tied directly into the story line and added to the immersion. No grinding EXP or money either.
If you enjoy VNs then id highly recomend this "game." If your looking for for another Planet Stronghold or Loren the Amazon Princess adventure Id recomend you check out their other recently released title, Cursed Lands, instead (i bought it too lol).
Enjoyed this. Completed once with Kaitlyn dating Nadia. Took about an hour and a half. Will play again for Sabrina's ending.
Pros
- Nice art and character designs
- Decent story - Short length means its about as long as a movie, and doesn't spread itself too thin or pad itself out and outstay its welcome.
- Undead - always good
- Multiple romance options
- Yuri - never enough of this in the world
Negatives / Would have liked
- Could have made more use of all side characters - Specifically, comparing it to Roommates, when you finalise your romance option in that game the other love interests remain in the story as supporting characters, with this they just vanish. Didn’t mind so much for the two male characters, but it was weird that my step-sister just disappeared for second half the game after I confirmed I was after Nadia despite sharing a house with her.
- Always nice to have more CG - particularly as there are two epilogue routes for each love interest it would have been nice to have a CG for each route to increase replay value for each character. That said, I have no idea what the costs of commisioning artwork is, so perhaps budget limited this. The CG I did unlock however was really nice quality.
- The villain is rather underwhelming - He just seemed to appear out of nowhere at the end. While, he does appear briefly at start he's then absent for the entire game, other than his silhouette during nightmares, until the last 10 mins of the game. His motives turn out to be a family feud, however unless it was a dialogue option I didn’t pick, he never explains what exactly the feud's about, just he wants you dead over it. . I feel the story could have given more hints on who had cursed you and why during the course of the story to add to the mystery. It is possible though of charcters routes do explore this, and its just Nadia's route that was vague on this.
Final thought, there's always room for more vampires! In the good end your are cured of your zombie/ghoul/feral vampire curse (its kind of vague)…. No option to become a awesome good vampire. Valarie get back here and turn me into a vampire!
I finally decided to buy this game and give it a try despite the fact I don't... quite like the second person narrator style. But the topic is actually so much my cup of tea that I needed to overcome my distaste.
So far I have only played through Brandon/Viktor route, but - oh boy! - do I LOVE the story! It's horror at its finest - psychological and bloody at the same time. Many, many horror stories nowadays tend to go for bland shocking moments only, so I'm really thrilled to see an exception here.
On top of that the romance fits neatly into the story without making it feel strangely out of place. That's a huge plus!
So in short:
+ top artstyle
+ thrilling story (I honestly couldn't stop playing because I wanted to know what happens next)
+ so many interesting characters to meet (and date :) )
+ MC slowly becomes a monster and can do nothing against it :P (I wonder how sick my mind actually is to love this "trope" so much xD)
+ room for speculations and interpretations
+ if I want... I can see a deeper meaning in the whole story ^^
+ a really fair price for the story being that amazing!

- while the writing was... good... I just can't help disliking second person narrative - it feels way too fanfiction-y for my taste (not to say fanfiction is a bad thing as I write it myself; but there is something like a "typical fanfcition writing style" which always tends to annoy me greatly) If you have no qualms with this kind of narrative then your good to go I guess.
- some minor inconsistencies (e.g. learning from Sabrina about werewolves, then later reacting in front of Tyrone as if you had never heard about them)
- typos~
All in all I can highly recommend this game especially if you're searching for some kind of horror other than simple jumpscares. ;)
Many games try to focus on doing too many things at once and not being able to do any of it well. This game comes across as having overcome that obstacle. The dating aspect of the game is flawlessy intertwined with the horror aspects and both work together to create a very unique experience. While some horror games attempt to focus on providing visuals of blood and gore "Love Bites" opts instead to focus on the atmosphere (though to be fair it will offer some very descriptive moments of body horror) and the mystery of what exactly is going on in the story. I cannot comment on the SFX because I have never been one to listen to them in my visual novels. The artistic style is really what sold me on this game as it evokes the essence of late 80's / early 90's anime such as "Night Walker: Midnight Detective".
In short, pick up the game, it is worth every penny!
i'm a fan of horror books and movies, and I think we dont' have enough dating sims games with this theme.
So far I've played Viktor (my favourite) and Tyrone routes, as Brandon:
What I liked:
- Really good artwork, I've loved the old horror movie style
- Simple gameplay and good writing
- Interesting characters
- The gore scenes are not exaggerated, and are great to create the game's atmosphere
- Good soundtrack
Could be better:
- More love interest options, maybe some side characters romance options ( I really wanted to romance Damian )
- The are two different ends for every love interest based on the player's choices, but the only difference that I could see was the text, it would be great if each end had at least different CGs
I am a big fan of some Winter Wolves games. For me this game didn't quite hit the mark, but I did play it to the end of one route. Not enough romance options, but I did like the supernatural theme.
But hey, play the game for yourself if you're a supporter of Winter Wolves like me.
