This looks very promising and well made. Unfortunately the shooting part was annoying far above acceptable level.
I had a difference of up to 20cm between the real position of my controllers and their position in VR most of the time during level 3.
I would love an option for "easy shooting" where the pistol is already unlocked and filled with unlimited ammo. Without this I can't really recommend the game, I do not even want to emagine having to shoot like this in a stressful environment...
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Note for Oculus users: game works fine on Oculus. The only issue I noticed is having to hold trigger and push down on the joystick to select levels on the menu. Some of the action happens behind you, so I do recommend a full roomscale setup. Plus you'll want to get behind cover and you'll have to crouch down.
I got this on sale for $3.99 USD on a Steam sale recently. I'm surprised by the mixed review status. It's definitely rough around the edges, but it's a good game. I finished the game in 47 minutes and had fun. I did have to overlook the overall clunkiness, but it's different than most VR games out there. Even though this came out on March 2017, it's still one of the most unique VR games out there.
So this is your cyberpunk shooter in VR that's dark and mysterious. It actually has a story too, but just when it starts to get interesting you get this one big cliffhanger and then the game ends. I think the first seven levels are just tutorials, but they're tutorial levels that basically has you joining this police force tasked with putting down rogue robots in the future. So you even get to watch a video in VR where you're given the brief history of this conflict. It definitely gives you a background into this world and makes your progression all that more enjoyeable. You also learn to teleport, to grab objects, to shoot, to reload, and to use a remote controlled spider bot. Even though it goes by quickly, there is one small screen that tells you to holster your gun but it kind of just glosses over it and it's easy to miss.
The teleportation wasn't as smooth as other games. It worked most of the time, but sometimes I couldn't teleport because my hand accidentally grabbed an ammo clip even though I hadn't touched the grab button to pick it up. And you couldn't teleport sometimes for reasons unknown. Frame rates took a big drop in the disco club full of animated robot AIs dancing. The game ran smoothly at times, but other times it just took a dip.
I liked the gunplay. I saw some negative reviews about reloading, but I didn't have too much problems with it. It wasn't perfect, but it worked 90% of the time I tried it. The handgun felt good and aim was true. I had no problems taking down enemy robots. I think I killed them a little too fast. Just be prepared to shoot coming out of any corner. Have you gun reloaded after each fight. And take cover when appropriate, but at the same time, if you see your enemy out in the open just take them down fast.
Hallie made the game for me. I had no idea robots could be so sexy. This is the cyberpunk future that I want. I can't wait for robot AIs to go crazy and start the revolution.
Rate 7/10. I think even at normal price, it's good value for your money. Just wish there was an episode 2 & 3.

Short, but fun game. Robots are hard to kill; should be easier. Sometimes a little buggy. All in all good. I am looking forward to more episodes and a more in-depth story.
Good Game. Has a story and areas to explore, not just another wave shooter. Much cheaper than a lot of other games.
A lot of fun, even it still contains a lot of bugs. e.g. you can walk out of the elevator, or even look through the wall outside, Sometimes the avatar disappears.
But, having an realistic Avatar shift VR experience to a whole new level.
Would i recommend this game? Yes, i would. Even it's a little bit short ...
It's incredibly rough around the edges and buggy, however it was fun to go through the once and shows a lot of promise. Things I liked:
City setting was good
Good looking character models and generally good looking game
Shooting the robots was decent enough
There's a story as rough and vague as it is
Different locations
It's not a wave shooter
Attempt at full body model
Policewoman is quite impressive
Things that were not so good:
Introduction space, you are told to watch a video on a screen that has music, game music plays over it at the same time.
Generally speaking the game music was on the bad end of not very good
ambient sounds for city start when you are still travelling in train
ambient sounds for city still present when you are in the secret 'lab', the whole way through.
Arms are not where they are supposed to be and are very wonky
Reloading takes a bit of getting used to, quite wonky and easy to pull out clip again once you've loaded it
Sound effects are generally bad
Overall it's going in the right direction and for the money I think it's worth supporting this developer. It is undoubtedly a buggy mess of a game but definitely has it's positives too. I look forward to seeing the improvements the second episode will bring.
If this were free or maybe $3 I would recommend it. The art is pretty good, but audio is kinda bad. Very short game for $7, and extremely buggy. Running on a 1080 my hands and body would frequently disappear, show the actual VIVE controllers in game. My gun would disappear, drop to about 5fps every now and then when encountering combat. Models freeze in mid air, and the grammar is pretty bad. If it were free I would recommend, kind of reminds me of a game someone's nephew put together over the weekend with some pre-purchased models.
My recommendation would be different if this were listed as early access. I love the concept and the full body avatar, and AIs. So many VR titles only give you the hands. The game is fun, but very buggy. At the current price point (and it's currently on sale) it's probably worth it for the experience. I'll try to be constructive with my critique since I would love to see the devs work out the bugs.
First of all, the game suffers from horrible clipping. It's easy to teleport past walls and doors, or walk through them in room scale. I even had a spiderbot clip through the walls. That needs to be addressed.
The gun mechanics, though somewhat realistic, leave a lot to be desired. As much as I love realism, dispense with the cycling of the weapon after reload, and find another button for ejecting the clip. Because it shares the trackpad with the teleport, I was inadvertantly telepoting in front of the enemy while changing magazines. In any event it shouldn't take me three times as long to change a clip in the game as it would in real ife.
The locomotion mechanism is teleportation. I understand why VR devs choose this becauuse other modes can create motion sickness, but to me it breaks the immersion. I love VR but I hate teleportation (unless it's done in some sort of magic way). There are other VR shooters that have found a smooth "walking" locomotion, so it's possible. I would suggest doing it for this title. If you intend to keep it, scope it to one controller so that it doesn't interfere with reloading.
Lastly, I love the AI models, but the one's in the final level are not very smooth, so for a "complete" tile I would have expected a better. It's important to note for any prospective buyers that this game does have nudity in it. It isn't out of place, and I can see where they are trying to take the story so it makes sense, but it's somethingto be aware of.
In conclusion, I do not recommend it because it is really not complete, and shouldn't be advertised as a complete game. If it were Early Access, that would be expected, and I absolutely would recommend it. The universe they've created is pretty cool. It has an iRobot feel to it. If they address the major bugs then I would change my recommendation.

TL;DR - If the dev(s) get this game cleaned up and polished nicely it would be a great deal for price vs. experience, but it's currently a bit of a mess and should probably be looked upon as a rough beta.

This is a tough review - I like the concept and the presentation, and the length to cost ratio is decent in comparison to other VR titles; but this game is just too rough around the edges to recommend in its current state.
The game is rather buggy and not very polished at the time of writing this - it feels like it should be an early access title. The reload mechanic for the pistol is currently very clumsy and it's too easy to drop a magazine instead of loading the pistol in the heat of battle. Another issue I ran across repeatedly, was that elevator doors wouldn't open so I had to teleport through them to continue onward. Additionally, the in-game hands are rendered at a 'slightly-off' angle so that they don't 'feel' aligned with my real hands and wrist angles. These weren't the only issues, just three of the most common.
There are some interesting ideas, but none are really polished and ready for a 1.0 release, much less 1.03 (where the game is currently at).
If this were an early access title these issues would be understandable; but this is being sold as a 'ready to go' title, and that's just not the case.
Good but has quite a few bugs, couldn't put magazine in gun very easily, dropped gun which fell through floor, things like that. I guess they will be fixed with updates. The game itself was fun but simple and quite short, finished in about an hour.
The graphics are very good and clear (some stutters here and there and for some reason i couldn't turn supersampling down). It was great to dance in a club with robots. I definitely felt like i was in the world of films like A.I. or I.Robot and really enjoyed the experience.
Recommended if you are into those sort of films and are happy to pay £5 for a fairly short experience.
