MONO IS A MULTI STORY HORROR GAME
Mono is compilation of 3 short horror stories that form an underlying narrative.
Figure out the pieces to the puzzle by surviving the games and finding the passwords.
Mono will feature 3 stories, I Want To Get Out, The Monster Within, The Creator Revealed
The game will launch with the first story ready to play, with the other 2 being added in free updates later down the line.
I Want To Get Out.
The I want to get out story is an Indie horror game with a sentient twist.
Watch as your environment changes around you, while It tries to get out.
Find hidden messages using your camera, or use it to aid you in the darkness.
Use your debug tool to protect yourself and make a decision wether to trust the developer or the monster within the game.
Keep It from escaping.
Please for your own sake don't let It escape.
I can't control It, It is making me do this.
Save yourself.

A great indie horror game.
Mono is an ok horror game
Pros
The Sound design is pretty good
it has some cool moments and it did scare me
Cons
Not a whole lot to do you mostly just walk around triggering scripted sequences
There's this one part in a maze with 3 buttons to reset your computer but I say screw that just ctrl-alt-delete and you win
So overall it's ok and it only cost 4$ so whatever if you wanna spook yourself out give it a try
fun for the whole family when they think its a simple Gary's mod addon
I hesitated to play it in demo because it looked like a simple game. As soon as I learned it was a horor game, more likely a gore. So I though it wouldn't make me jump but I was actually wrong...
Fucking wrong.
And I love the glitches/bugs (not that they're real, it was on purpose by developer).
And breaking the 4th wall too!
This is my first horror game, but I seriously love it, and It's really full of suprises and things you don't expect! The visuals are amazing too, I don't know how they were made, but god damn, they're AMAZING, I can't express in words how much I like it. The game play is really diverse too, and I LOVE IT. Really, there's very little cons to this I game in my opinion - a few mechanics may be confusing for some, but overall I love this game. [full review soon!]
a terrible game that was abandoned so the developer could make more awful fnaf fan games. at least finish your game THAT PEOPLE ARE PAYING MONEY FOR!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
Where is the third part of the series?
Well done game.
It's a shame that story 3 is cancelled.
Mono...
A short horror game with a cheap pricetag.
To be short, its good for what it is.
An interesting story, nice monotone graphics and some good scares.
It's worth the cheap 4$ price tag.
This game is great.
It tells two (one more on the way) tales in a trilogy that uses the player themselves as the protagonist and the developer as the antagonist, something unheard of.
It is really scaring that I can't put my earphone on...
I came into this game really wanting to like it. There's a lot of potential, but it ultimately has too many glaring flaws to be truly enjoyable. The jumpscares, while effective, are ultimately cheap; they are about the only thing this game has going for it. The developer tried to build a sense of dread, but the player often feels confused on where to go or what key goes to what door, which is frustrating. The environment design feels underdeveloped and bland, which is a huge missed opportunity, and takes a lot away from the experience.
Mechanically speaking, the game runs smooth and lighting looks nice The controls, however, have some problems. There is no pause menu, (or at least none I could find) and hitting escape doesn't do anything! I had to manuallly quit the game from the outside. This game also does not display its' controls anywhere, and while they are standard for first person PC games of this style, could make new players confused or frustrated.
I wanted to like this game, I really did. But just dropping a player into a bland and empty house with a couple jumpscares isn't enough to keep me engaged.
This game made me have to change my pants!!
>>youtube let's play here<<
Pros
Great atmosphere!
really good jumpscares!
suoer underpriced for the games look and feel!
cons
super confusing, waking around to die then wake up die, exact same repeat. mostly because im bad at games,
8-10 love it!
Review is only for Episode 1: I Want to Get Out
A clever premise simply executed. I am not a horror fan, but this game was interesting. Here's why:
The game is not much to look at - a simplistic interact system, white enamel furniture, and constant digital flicker through windows. Progression is guided by noises and shifting lighting, which keeps the player moving through story sequences.
The premise of the game is the good part - the player's role is as the player of a video game, and the baddie is a character inside the game your character (the guy playing the game) is playing. The baddie wants to escape the computer. Mono then uses game crashes, glitches, and blue screens (in-game) as, essentially, game-over or end of sequence screens.
So yeah. It's clever, it's short, and it made me yell frightened obscenities at my computer despite looking bland.
**See bottom for Edit**
Note that at the time of me writting this only one of the two stories have come out, but I have confidence that the other two will be just as pleasent an experience.
This game has, more or less, two ways to be enjoyed. There is a surface level experience where you can play it once, maybe twice, and for the most part be done with it. Its a nice, inexpensive indie horror game to enjoy in one sitting. The other way to enjoy this game is to seek out the clue trails, replay it a bunch seeking out the small hints and changes, and do a bit of light puzzle work. Either way I would recommend this game.
For those who just want a small horror experience, it has a moderate bulid up and satisfying payoff with moments where it can be genuinly unsettling. Granted, if you end up following the clue trails and figureing things out on that level then the creepy factor wears off pretty quickly, but at the same point you will know you're way through the game well enough that having to loop through to coninue isn't so bad. So far, its pretty well balanced.
There is more to come from this game as well. As stated, there will be two more stories added to the game and it will raise in price a dollar for each so if you're interested you might as well get it now while the gettings good.
**Edit**
Its hard, this one. I honestly enjoyed the first part of the game. The second chapter didn't catch me the same way, as the idea of looping back though for clues and passwords was abandoned for a fairly straightforward experience to a boss fight. I could get behind this but the bossfight felt unpolished. It was very difficult and when I did win, it felt like it was by accident. Now, after a multiple year wait, it is taken off of the steam market for purchase. While Jelli has stated this is not abandoned... well actions speak louder then words. this includes inaction. RIP Mono, I really truly did enjoy you.
I really enjoy the game. It has a good concept, cool mechanics, and a good plot. It's worth the money. I recommend you get it.
This game actually scared the shit out of me cant even finish it.

Well, simply put. It's one hell of a ride! It's worth the buy. and plus its cheap. but it sure should be worth more :x
I love this game! I really cant wait for the other 2 stories :D
This is based off the first story of Mono - I Want To Get Out, as the other two aren't released yet as of this review.
There really isn't much to say about this first story of Mono - it was a ton of fun, very creepy, loved the "glitchy" aspect of it, and it absolutely left me wanting more. If I had to say anything bad about it - the graphics aren't that great (even though they suit the game fine) and the puzzles are relatively basic. Both are very minor issues in an otherwise great title that's worth the $4.
I definitely look forward to the next two installments and see how everything comes together.
Per usual, I did a playthrough of it if anyone wants to see it in action: https://youtu.be/l7p2_KtVBl4
This game is amazing, I played your final night series and I have to say I hope you continue making games with this kind of work being done by your hand because when i was playing this game you actually have to figure out these puzzels without the game giving you hints or a notification that tells you to press E,F, Left mouse mouse button to interact wiht the surrounding i respect that, keep up the good work Liam.
Dear Liam,
I just have to say im glad that you decided to focus on projects that doesn't involve fnaf because sooner or later fnaf is going to end, people are going to get bored of it, and people are not going to get to see all of your talents in developing video games. I know you got a few people complaining that the game wasnt fnaf based and that it cost but let me say it again "Don't listen to your FNAF only fans mostly listen to the fans that care about everything you do" Go With Your Heart! Now Remeber i will always be there for you and never give up on your dreams.
