An adorable, simple game with a silly premise. The characters are unique and fun to interact with, but unfortunately the story was never completed for all the characters. I still fondly remember playing this game a long time ago!
If you are looking for a short casual, cute and fluffy, lighthearted comedy, then you might probably want to try Anicon - Animal Complex - Sheep's Path.
The soundtracks are very cheerful and totally give out a lot of positive vibes. They also consist of breathtaking graphic and scenery designs. The story plots are well written.
If you played the Cat's Path before and was wondering if the Sheep's Path is similar to it - well, not really. There are some plots which you may feel similar but the results are totally different from Cat's Path. If you are curious, try it out (*ゝω・)ノ
Our Mr. Sheep, as you have seen from Cat's Path, he is absolutely charming and I have no regret playing this path (〃艸〃)
This VN was My Daily Dosage of Anti-depressants and Mood Stabilizers
This visual novel is the second part of Zeiva's Anicon: Animal Complex series. The first impression is the story is short but is very cute and adorable because it's filled with animals however only exhibits light romance. Amidst the the light romance story, when you go a bit too deep, it teaches you something about life that you cannot forget. Since I am having a stressful time these days, this story instantly fixes my mood with the positive music and the sweet characters. As same as their other visual novels, the mini-games are not easy to crack and requires some of your goddamn wits or a nice walkthrough, but that's where the magic of Zeiva's visual novels rest. So I urge to complete it by your efforts alone because that is satisfying.

The story follows one of my favorite characters of the whole series: Dai. A pessimistic sheep who is fluffy, responsible and a great cook. Dai's pessimism is a major drawback in his life, and it's up to the heroine to help him out. Throughout different endings and side stories you learn a little bit more about his life and why he is pessimistic. You also learn about how his brothers view him as, their thoughts and worries. This alone gives the reader a deep outlook on people who have pessmistic personalities. There is one normal and good ending and one special ending. The special ending is unrelated to the chara you have to romance. The mini game is mostly collecting money or art pieces which would unlock side stories and cooking (which is really a puzzle to crack lol)
You can challenge yourself more and tackle getting the hidden achievements and its a must you unlock the side stories and epilogue. The epilogue gives the deep insight into Dai's life.
The art just incredibly is cute and amazingly detailed. The music is so positive and it fixes your mood. You see new character arts of Navid (Mr Elephant). The side stories are cute or either kinda deep. As a girl living in today's society I have seen Dai's personality in many of my male friends. Although, pessimism is usually accompanied by depression, it is unknown if Dai really had severe depression imo. However, the situation handled in this visual novel is not entirely fictional (i mean not the animal transformation haha)
You find many people who are just nice and never express their emotions fully, but the truth is they need to express and its up to the people around them to help them out
Albeit, Zeiva had really done a good job in expressing a slightly deep story inside a very light hearted novel. That is indeed a talent. Looking forward to Mr Bunny's arc- I'm honestly intrigued how his story would turn out.
Short and cute, with enough difference from Cat's Path to make it totally worth buying.
I found myself liking the Sheep more and more throughout the story. Like some other reviewers said, a lot of these types of games end up having characters that are bland and uninteresting, but with Anicon I've actually become quite invested. This is quite a good visual novel and I can't wait to play future paths!
I really like this visual novel by Zeiva Inc, I hope they will continue it.
This is the Sheep's path. It is the second route of the visual novel Anicon. The first route is the Cat's Path that came out some years ago. You technically don't need to play the Cat's Path first in order to play this one as the order doesn't really matter.
At first, I wasn't excited about the Sheep's Path. Having already played the Cat's Path, I had taken a liking to the Mr. Lion character and I was hoping for his route. On the other hand, I didn't really care about the sheep as I found him too boring. Now that I played the Sheep's Path, I like him a bit more but I still feel that I would have preferred another route instead. (Lion, Elephant) Mr. Sheep is just too pessimistic for a cute game like this.
That being said, I still liked the game. It was cute and we also got to see Elephant's human form (which is very hot by the way) I know they will probably release Bunny next, but I was hoping for either Lion or Elephant as I find them way more likable. I also hope we will get to see Snail's human form soon.
Pros:
- Nice music
- Attaching characters, including the MC
- Pretty good art
- The collecting of money / items isn't repetitive: you don't have to grind much to make the most out of the game
- Just enough replay value
- The plot is not bad at all
Cons:
- Relatively expensive for just one route. But there are much worse visual novel on Steam for the same price.
- Epilogue and side story are disappointing (much too short and almost random whereas there is all this moe power going to waste). And don't point the rating; the devs know how they built their game and what they did.
Most visual novels that include adult content doesn't have a plot, and their characters are bland, boring. It's rare to have an otome that tackle realist life problems and succeed at making characters who grow along the plot. When you have that kind of material, it feels weird not to use it at all.
Zeiva, you have to reconsider the way to write your epilogues.
Okay, enough whining about otome rated R for no reason.
(...But still; visual novels for boys and men doesn't often have this problem. If there is a reason for that, let me tell you the difference gape is much too wide. As a result, this trend looks just silly.)
Overall, I've been waiting for Sheep's path for years, and I almost forgot this game existed until now.
...And the result was worth waiting for. I wasn't disappointed, even though there could have been more content-wise.
I noticed that, on the official website, in the character list they feature Lion, Elephant and Snail as if they were playable, but nothing indicate that their route are in prduction shedule at all.
Owl, Pig, and Monkey are officially non playable ( one is too old, one is too young, and the last is only a very cute and smart Monkey. This only gives relief to the whole ensemble. ... And (of course) makes my want to have friendship routes with them even more. lol
I hope that Zeiva will produce and publish Lion, Elephant, and Snail one day. But since they already published Anion Party, which is the series conclusion, this looks unseeming.
Anyway, Anicon has been one among very rare otome games that didn't bore me dry with pointless chit chat, silly teenage drama, artwork that hurts the eyes, or grinding.
There is few evaluations, but bad visibility doesn't mean that the game is subpar: sometimes it's even the contradictory. Anicon is one of the most polished short visual novels out there to this day.
