Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

If you've played these games before, you'll be just as frustrated as you were the first time if not more :) SOMEHOW ITS ENTERTAINING, and somehow they can write good charaters

okay okay okay. lets get this out of the way: most well made game in the franchise. THAT BEING SAID. The ending alone nearly invalidates all good things about it. Spoilers Ahead:

The Game's Ending not only Rewrites, Invalidates, and Ruins the First 2 Game's endings. It ALSO Gives Danganronpa Another Episode and Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy no legs to stand on. The Ending says that in universe, the first 2 games were in universe Fiction. This is one of the only games that i can say I truly LOTHE the story. The only good part about the ending is the Tsumugi(The Mastermind) is portrayed as an unrelaiable narrorator, and therefore may have been lying about everything. And the fact she could've been lying is the only reason I'm not giving this damn game a negative review

This game is fun and does a lot of things right!! In some ways it's the best game in the series, but I think that still falls on Ultra Despair Girls Danganronpa 2.

it perfectly wraps up the series, the characters have amazing development and the logic and reasoning in this game is just as good as the previous versions.
whatever other people are saying about this game being bad, dont believe them, this game was extremely well made compared to the other games (thanks to the larger budget) and the class trials have an amazing ambience.
the ending was amazing, it brought light to the reality of these killing games and leaves you wanting more.

danganronpa v3 killing harmony is another amazing game of this series so definitely give it a try

For me personally this is the main game in the Danganronpa franchise. I will say the game overall is good, though as a Danganronpa game it really is meh. The story is actually pretty good for most of the game, though for me personally the ending basically ruined it for me. The characters can range for really good to meh. Not every character feels completely fleshed out and more than a few feel like their there just there to be killed off. The gameplay also killed it for me, as for some reason the controls aren't keyboard but controller. Now yes you can fix this in the launcher, but the game still has the controls list as what you click during a trial. It's very confusing and towards the end the game started not responding to a key I pressed every like minute. I tested my keyboard and used a different keyboard and yet same issue. keep in mind this may just be a issue on my end. I didn't bother trying to completely fix it due to these issues happening towards the end of the final trial. Other than those issues control wise, the game play was great. We get some refreshed older trial games and some new ones. A few of the older ones I found to be worse than in previous games, though this was mostly due to the control issues I had. Overall the trials were still pretty fresh and the same goes for the cases. While I personally don't like the game, it's a must if you have played the previous games in the series.

kokichi is me. i love kokichi. the trails make me cry a little because of how hard they are but im also just stupid and dont know how to do the easyiest things uhm

If I could give this game more than one thumbs down, I would.

What a terrible way to end the trilogy. They really hated making this series. Giant slap to the face of all the fans. Enormous betrayal to those that loved these games. The entire time during the ending I kept thinking "wow, they really didn't like us."

If you liked the first two games, stay clear of this one.

From the start, it's a fair bit weaker than the first two games, with several really annoying characters and some pretty bad optimization for what should be a very simple game to run. Then you get to the ending, which breaks the fourth wall to say in no uncertain terms that the writers hate their own series and they hate you for liking it.

It fails as a sequel because it goes out of its way to explicitly render the rest of the series pointless, and it fails as a standalone experience because it completely gives up on its own plot in favor of this "meta" twist that only works if you're invested in the series and familiar with its tropes. Seriously, most of the final investigation is a series of plot points recycled from the first two games just so this one can roll its eyes and go "boy, THAT'S a stupid plot twist, ain't it?" meanwhile almost everything set up by the first 5 chapters (of this 6-chapter game) is forgotten about.

The ending recontextualizes the entire rest of the game as an act of spite made solely to kill the series and shut up the fanbase who kept asking for a third game. The whole bit with the in-universe audience being super whiny and entitled doesn't make this game feel any less spiteful.

What a waste of time.

As I finish this game, it's clear the devs wanted to end this entire franchise right here and do so in style and with a bang. They thought they were being clever and really they could have been. The gameplay is solid and the individual cases are straight up some of the best offered yet. However, the overarching story they exist in was pretty sloppy, contradicting itself in the nature of details the main villain will ultimately have as well as perhaps the single most key character to tell the tale around, resulting in a very unsatisfying feel unless you are willing to turn your brain off and forget as much from the early game as our cast of characters do from their lives. Further insult to injury, what should have been a re-interpretation of the rest of the series turns into a retcon that straight up erases the second game in the trilogy. This is pretty egregious, especially when this spoils all the potential it had.

I wish I could be nicer, but where the game is as much a visual novel as it is a detective game, that story is way too important to forgive these issues, and so I have a really hard time recommending this game. In fact, I don't.

its super fun, alot different from the other danganronpa games but i think this might be one of my favorites. its also very funny with some of the things characters say.

killing harmony does a lot of stuff better than it's previous entries. its presentation is incredible. i really like the way it displays multiple characters on screen in dialogue and how it's segmented and all that. it has some just incredible twists. dialogue feels a bit more varied, perhaps due to the,, crassness of a few characters. and the general ideas that define this entry are really bold and interesting. i don't think i enjoyed it as much as goodbye despair, but the sheer quality (and audacity) the game offers is incredible. it's just not *personally* my favourite

A banger danganronpa entry, like all the others. Playing as Kaede was super fun throughout the whole game! You'll enjoy this if you like female protags :D

This game sucks so many eggs I've ran out of eggs to suck. Why don't you slap me across the face and push me down the stairs for 45 dollars. Experiencing this absolute circus fire of a game is like watching your mother get hit by a train, it's so awful and yet I can't bring myself to look away. Finding this franchise in early high school was a canon event that I was hoping to shut away within the depths of my mind forever. But I fear the hyper-fixation has resurfaced. The distant memories of years past replaying in my mind over and over no matter how hard I try to shut it out and thus, I end up embracing it as a trauma response. I think about this game all the time. I watch others play it, I make fan content for it, I have discussions about it with loved ones and yet, I find myself unfulfilled. No amount of therapy can give me my innocence back. No amount of repenting can ever give me my time back. Life is a constantly fleeting force and one day we will all run out only to be buried six feet under and decomposed into worm food and how do I spend my time? Playing Dang It Grandpa. This game is a heavy reminder of the players own mortality. Not because the plot is about a killing game, but because you can't help but wonder how every decision in your life has brought you here playing this absolute time vampire.

That being said, you got Todd Haberkorn, I love Gonta and there's a casino.
9/10 (minus one point because you had the AUDACITY to tag this as "female protagonist" and the monokubs exist.)
Overall it's a pretty fun time and the music is bangin! Would recommend! 👍

this game bring everything the other games didnt offer. the story is really compelling it keeps you on the edge of your feet at all times i have played over 100 hours of the game and that is all game time

if youre looking for a good story, good character development, good everything XD this is the game for you but i do STRONGLY recommend you play the other games they bring alot to the table if you like dark humor/a great visual novel

even from the start it plot twists all over the place i truly think everyone should give this game a go. if you dont want to get it wait for it to go on a sale then get it itll be 100% worth it

i played through the prologue and first chapter, and i liked it, it's just.. it's a bit too long and time consuming for my taste. i recommend to those mystery lovers, but if you have low patience or get bored easily, this wouldnt really be your cup of tea.
Miu kind of also bothered me a bit with her 18+ jokes at every corner in the trials. though, it is rated mature for a reason. K1-B0 / kiibo was cute, and kokichi's interactions with miu were funny.

Dangnaronpa: Killing Harmony was a great ending to the Danganronpa series. I actually just finished it yesterday, and my jaw was dropped. To maintain from spoiling anything, I won't talk too much about the story of the game, but the ending was like putting the finishing touch on the series.
Danganronpa V3 is about 16 students who find their selves to be kidnapped inside of the "Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles." Kaede Akumatsu, the protagonist, stumbles out from a locker to find that she doesn't recognize the place shes in. She later meets Shuichi Saihara who happens to fall out from a locker as well. They end up being chased by huge machines until they make it to the gymnasium, where they meet our favorite murder mascot, Monokuma. Monokuma tells them that they must kill each other to escape, and then the story begins.
In my opinion, the game was amazing. I think it had some of the best executions yet. I remember seeing a few executions from V3 all over the place, so I knew a few people who would get executed. But, Team Danganronpa did not disappoint. The closing arguments to each murder left me in total shock.
Overall, Dangnaronpa V3 is a must play for people who are really into dystopian, murder mysteries, possibly horror, and just like being the detective.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony - A Mind-Blowing Finale

Has some of the highest of highs for the series (i.e trial 1 and 4), but also some of the lowest lows with everything regarding trial 3 which ended up being possibly the worst trial in the whole trilogy.
Even so I think this game is ballsy as fuck for its choices which ends up in a very divisive game.
Those who hate this game, DESPISE this entry and often say that the ending undermines everything that came before thus ruining the series.
I do not think so, and without saying too much - for a series as ridiculous as this series can be, I actively see it as a incredibly fitting ending.
I have my gripes with how overly meta this game could be at times but nonetheless it was a great time and if you are a fan of the series, I say it is worth your time for characters like Kokichi, Gonta and Kaede

Still not a fan of hangman's gambit, but other then that it's more of what you would want from a Danganronpa game. I will say the last trial gets weird, and goes a little bit metal gear solid.

The game still has that auto center forced on and I'm not sure if it can be turned of but like the last games you get use to it.

I had a lot of fun with it and would recommend it to others, but if you are at this point then you already know if you want to buy a third main line Danganronpa game. Looking forward to the next game.

Spoiler-free: You need to play DR 1 and 2 to play this game, or at least watch a playthrough on Youtube. Otherwise, this game won't make sense, and quite frankly, it won't be fun. I don't think it is necessary to watch the DR 3 anime or play Ultra Despair Girls to understand this game. You should not play V3 as a standalone game because it isn't a good game by itself lol. The cast is less likeable than the DR1 and DR2 casts. Also, the trials are more difficult because V3 added a lot more mechanics, which can be frustrating.

I think this is a fitting end for the series, although I can see how it can be controversial for some fans. I thought the trials got more convoluted with the new mechanics, like lying and the 3-way talking, and I ended up changing the difficulty from medium to easy. I enjoyed the 2-team scrum section as a new mechanic. I liked how the investigation sections were shorter, and I ended up figuring out the case moreso in the trial section. I hated the anagram and Mario Kart-esque driving games, and I had to use a guide for some of the trials.

The cast is less likeable, but I thought it was cool how the MC switched from Kaede to Shuichi (and briefly as Keebo). I thought the chapters were fun and had interesting twists that were different from DR 1 and 2. I didn't like playing Ultra Despair Girls because it was a 3rd person shooter; however, I did enjoy that gameplay style for the last chapter. It was fun (and nerve-wracking!) to run around the school with a time limit. It was frustrating because the in-game map doesn't show the character icons when they're inside a room. It was tedious having to constantly check the menu map during Free Time because I wanted to talk to all the characters at least once. The Ultimate Labs idea was cool.

Overall, I enjoyed this game, but I wouldn't recommend it for people who are completely new to the series or haven't played DR 1 and DR 2.

This is definitely the worst of the main three danganronpa games, but let me tell you that does not mean it is bad. To state a few negatives right away, a lot of the characters didn't really feel as well put together as the previous games. While yes, there were definitely characters that were amazing, it still felt like half the cast was just a bunch of no-bodies. Maybe that's a little bit harsh, and granted each character does get their moment to shine, it's just the cast didn't feel as amazing as the previous games is all.

I also felt the trials were a bit strange at times. I don't really know how to explain it, they just felt less unique and less interesting. I get that by the third installment of a series your gonna start to run out of the originality juices. I honestly think they probably should have gone with a different setting instead of a school like danganronpa 2 did, that game had so many unique trials.

Now finally onto the positives. Character design was on point like it always is. Gameplay has continued to evolve and include more minigames within the trials. Some of them are hit or miss (like the mine field one ugh) but the more unique ones add an interesting spin to the game. The added functionality of lying, allowing the player to access backroutes within discussions is honestly really cool and adds to the theme of the game.

Now onto the story. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't really interested in the story for most of the game because it felt very samey samey to the first game without really much different. It wasn't until the ladder half of the game where it really started to pick up and get interesting. But the best part of it all were the twists. The twists in this game are brutal. Honestly I'm still processing the end of the game.

Overall while this may be the worst of the main games imo, I still think this is a certified banger danganronpa game. Please play it (but play the first two and UDG and watch the anime if you haven't first silly).

ch 5 is the most traumatic experience ive ever had with this game

While in my opinion the ending is not the best, I still enjoyed playing through it all nontheless. The game mechanics are fun and I personally love the cast of these characters. Definitely recommending it!

Where to start with V3 hahaha... It definitely is a roller coaster of a story of a few very high highs but terribly awful lows. It starts out great but slowly becomes a chaotic mess at the end. I mostly dislike the cast and somehow the Monokubs somehow made me miss Monomi which are words I never thought I would say. The elephant in the room being the ending fascinates me how many people seem to despise it and others who say its genius. I would say i'm more in the camp of its genius in an ironic way that it was so bad it was good. Without giving away too much I would say the ending sucks but in a very fun way like a train wreck but the trains are filled with manure and fireworks, its bad but in a very fun and ironically hilarious way that had my jaw on the floor. I did not give a singular crap about any characters at the end which probably enhanced my enjoyment.
I would say its worth your time because it does game play very well compared to the previous two and the mini games/alternate game modes were very fun. I think this was the developer's last game with a series and I can respect how he ended the series in such a silly way and in would high five him if I ever saw him. If you haven't played it definitely give it and the other two(not UDG or S yikes) your time.

The finale of the Danganronpa series. The perfect end to the Danganronpa series. Danganronpa V3 sets up like the previous Danganronpa games, where there a killing school takes place and everyone works together to find the mastermind. The perfect brand of characters to take part in the killing school, each of them having a specialised personality and ability. The story continues from Danganronpa 2 which leads to the perfect cliffhanger and end of the series. I really love this game and treasure it deeply in my heart. I highly recommend this game to everyone out there, the characters all have their ultimate ability and seeing it blend with their personalities makes the game feel so special. There is also a side game, The Ultimate Talent Development Plan which is made as an RPG, and you can see how the different characters across the series interact with one another, which I also loved. This game is perfection, get it.

If you love Danganronpa and want to give it closure, you obviously want to play this game. If you rather waiting for the next one, play the last chapter again. I think the team message was very clear and I'm okey with it.
Game still fun, I experience despair and said "this situation is fucked up" and glad I played. Just like the other 2 games I plan to 100% all of it.

How can people like this game? It sucks so much and I finally understood why the fanbase loves Kokichi sm(even if I don't share that affection). It is because all the other characters suck, the entire game sucks except for Keebo. Anyways I will never accept this game as the truth/ Ruined the entire universe

At first i avoided this game. the reviews are mostly against the game and the ending, saying it ruins the game and whole series..

i personally disagree. i haven't finished it, so i can't comment on the ending... but the characters are not forgettable. story so far is really good (the first twist was CRAZY} so please, don't let the bad reviews discourage you! this is still a great game. it's a bit pricy but also has better graphics than the other 2 games, so it's understandable. cubs are a bit annoying... otherwise it's a 7/10 so far personally.
