Great. Music, atmosphere, visuals. A real unexpected gem. 10 / 10. A must-have VR game.

This is a very unique hidden gem of a puzzle VR game that is very interesting and calming to playthrough.

GRAPHICS

Graphics are very basic, but are very beautiful as they truly give you the sense of being in some sort of technological desert, almost like old Egyptian technology. Not anything amazing, but not anything bad either. 1/2

MUSIC/SOUND EFFECTS

Music is very well done throughout the game mixing a bit of tribal African culture with a nice rythmatic spin to it. Each level or so has a unique soundtrack that drives you to finish the level. I quite enjoyed the music throughout this short game. 1.5/2

STORYLINE/BUGS

Well, this game does not have any sort of storyline except that you are some sort of God that is able to control blocks with his "magical staff". The game thankfully has no major bugs that you have to deal with that detract you from the experience, except some blocks that might get stuck with other blocks. This will require you to reset the level. 0.5/2

PACING

The game isn't paced too well as it seems like a beginner VR game. The game slowly progresses you from stationary platforms, to moving platforms, and suddenly to a level that throws lava, spikes, and "enemies" in one level. Finally, at the end of each world (there are 2), there is a beautiful, very simplistic, flying section that lets you fly around and collect orbs. 1/2

GAMEPLAY/LENGTH

In terms of a VR game, mechanics of a VR game aren't used too well. I would say this game is more of an experience more than anything. The game uses VR to immerse you into a beautiful African world, but just allows you to teleport and play with floating blocks. Although, in terms of puzzles, they are at the point of not being frustrating, but also not being too easy. The very balanced puzzles help you breeze through the short story as its about 2 and a half hours worth of content, which is more than enough for a 10 dollar game. The game also has a total of 9 collectibles to gather throughout its levels, so it definitely has some extra content. 1.5/2

Overall, it's a short gem of a VR game that you should pick up if you can't find any other good VR games to play. 5.5/10 (AVERAGE).

Fun, relaxing puzzle game with great music! Rangi basically consists of moving blocks to allow for ‘light streams’ to pass through. Connecting all the light streams, unlocks the portal to next stage, rinse and repeat. Although the puzzles themselves are not the most challenging, the combination of vibrant African set pieces with enchanting African rhythms, provides a soothing, hypnotic atmosphere that makes the overall experience a delight.

Definitely a title that throws everything at you! Well, a wide variety at least. I enjoyed it, but I also like puzzle games, so there's that. All in all it took me close to three hours to beat this, which is longer than I expected, I did get stuck like two times but it wasn't too bad. It's definitely first and foremost a puzzle game, but also has some semi-platforming/action scenes as well.

Pros

• There's ton of level variety, safe puzzle, dangerous puzzle, moving obstacles, movable objects, conduits, mixers... it's a bit unclear what all this is, but you'll have to discover that. There's also a few action scenes, actually, which is a bit surprising in a puzzle title.
  
• There's also a number of different puzzle mechanics that gets introduced during the game's progression.
  
• The environment has a grand scale, it's pretty fantastic, lots of atmosphere even though fairly flat-shaded.
  
• Good enough graphics, everything is coherent and looks like it belongs in the same universe, that does a lot for immersion IMO.
  
• It has performed quite well, some issues with loading but inside the game it has been just fine.
  
• A setting that is not too common I think, African motifs and music, quite refreshing.
  

• There are some elements that can be nauseating, especially one tilting platform, but also moving platforms and some more free locomotion. I was fine for most of it, as a seasond VR user, except that tilting platform.
  
• Moving things in puzzles can be janky, with things snapping to unwanted places or just losing grip entirely, this can be frustrating.
  
• Teleportation is done with a fade-to-black transition, which disorients me, I would have wished for a dash animation to be an option.
  

• It can feel annoying to teleport with a delay, you have to focus on a node for a short while to travel to it, but it's actually a very intentional game mechanic that comes into play later.
  
• Teleportation nodes are not visible at all times, most will only be visible when you're at a neighboring node, so where you can actually travel is not immediately apparent. This also plays into the game mechanics.
  
• If you feel nauseated by any of the moving platforms, make sure parts of the floor is in view so you get a fixed world reference, or kneel down for it to be closer to you so you see it in your periphery at least.
  
• Your secondary staff will occasionally buzz and light up, that means there's a secret nearby.
  
• You can start at any level you have unlocked if you quite the game and come back later.
  
[*]I'm pretty sure "Reset" in the settings actually wipes progress and is NOT about resetting any settings. BEWARE! I think I tried it during my first playthrough to reset my looking direction or something and then thought the game didn't save progress as I had to restart...

Cool puzzle game teleport based. Very good for people new to VR as well as for plalyers with experience.

I say "people new to VR" because it starts with teleport on flat planes. Then on heigths with a bit of vertigo and then with moving plateforms and then flying.
The progression with VR senses is gradual and gently brings the player to the power of VR.

New VR players wanting to build their VR legs will find a relaxing game with pretty cool puzzles and environements, which will give them confidence and pushing their potential VR sickness to zero.

Beleive me VR rookies, with this game you will be able to rocket launch everyone in doom-like fast locomotion with jumps and fly without any dizziness.

And veterans you will enjoy a very refreshing game to relax from the most stress inducing shooters.

May I add that even low configs will run this game perfectly. Gfx are not incredible but fit very well the style. The artists made a good job and proves that VR magik doesn't need crazy textures and polygons.

1.3 hours today, I think I am less than 50% of the game. Definitively recomended.

Beautiful art style and neat puzzles that revolve around interacting with the environment by moving/rotating objects to solve puzzles based on color mechanics. I really like the movement style: there is no walking required and you can only teleport to specific locations.

Warning: I had some problems with nausea in situations where you are standing on moving platforms or the arm of a giant (yes, really).

Fantastic game , Beautiful graphic , Great puzzles , No dizziness or motion sickness, What more can you say my best buy for VR this year worth every bit of cash.

This game looks amazing and is really relaxing and fun to play. Really recommend it

In a word: Beautiful.

Visually, the graphics on display here are smooth, stylized, and *fantastic* in every sense of the word. It seems like whoever was in charge of the art direction paid attention to what works visually on current gen VR headsets, and used every VR-graphics-ehnacing technique in the book. I'd compare the visuals to how Valve's "The Lab" looks in how crip and clear everything is.

The opening of the game (being carried by a giant) was pretty cool, but I feel like the real 'wow' factor kicked in around the 3rd or 4th stage (didn't take long to get there -the first few puzzles are pretty simple warmups), where the impressive scale of the city-sized temple enviornments *really* starts to kick it up a couple notches.

I picked this game up for the graphics (I'd heard this game compared to 'Journey' for the PS4 visually and enviornments-wise, and after playing it for myself, I'd solidly agree), but the puzzles I've encountered so far have been surpringly engaging, regularly introducing new mechanics, and becoming increasingly challenging.

The music also deserves a mention - what they've got going on here goes *great* with the breathtaking vistas, enahcing the atmosphere in a cohesive way that I seems to be *really* rare in this early stage of VR gaming.

*Highly* recommended.

Rangi is well worth the price if you are interested in puzzle games. Every level continued to suprise me as I progessed through the game. I would recommend this title to anyone with a VR headset. This will be a title I show newcomers when they come over to try out virtual reality games.

I really like this feel-good game!

This is really a fantastic title! I have 1.4 hours in so far and have to say I am totally getting my 10 bucks worth! it has a very stylized, simplistic, charming art style that really just lets you enjoy the game without having to pick part how detailed the art is. I just love the music so much! the environments are big so the puzzles can span many different rooms and though they aren't the most difficult in the world they can prove a little challenging and fun to solve. the platforming part is really fun! you just teleport from place to plavce in this game but the way the devs incorporated it, the locomotion is basically part of the whole puzzle so that makes it pretty great and also makes for some fun and anxoiusness waiting for the next spot to be open or free before you get smashed! So yes this really kind of a surprise and should def be played if you feel like some relaxing medium challange puzzle solveing, fun VR world to play through and some groovy music. If you are looking for hard puzzles, this won't be your thing. Try Obduction or Phantasma if you really want to cramp your brain muscle.

Rangi is a large scale puzzle game with great music and sound fx. The puzzles arent so difficult but they are very big which is what you want in VR. The environments are great and the music is engaging, not to mention the sounds of giants in the background!
