Описание
An asteroid the size of a small moon is on a crash course toward Earth, and only NASA veteran Boston Low has the expertise to stop it. Along for the ride are award-winning journalist Maggie Robbins and internationally renowned geologist Ludger Brink.
Once the wayward asteroid is nuked into a safe orbit, the trio conducts a routine examination of the rocky surface.
What they uncover is anything but routine.
Low, Brink and Robbins unwittingly trigger a mechanism that transforms the asteroid into a crystal-like spacecraft. The team is hurtled across the galaxy to a planet so desolate, Brink is moved to name it Cocytus, after the 9th circle of Hell in Dante’s inferno. The bleak landscape was obviously once home to a highly evolved civilization, with remnants of sophisticated architecture, advanced technology and an intricate network of underground tunnels.
But no Cocytans.
Who were the original inhabitants of this once rich empire-turned-wasteland? What are those apparitions that mysteriously appear from time to time? Why have Low, Robbins, and Brink been brought to this place? And how can Low keep his team from unraveling in the face of such uncertainty? To return to Earth, they must dig for answers, both on the planet’s surface and deep within themselves.
From the combined talents of LucasArts and legendary Steven Spielberg comes an epic adventure that plunges headlong into the very core of the unknown. And takes you with it.

Talk about a blast from the past! I remember playing this growing up and it still holds up to this day. Back when Lucas Arts was at the top of their game with point and click adventures. The game can get frustrating at times when you get stuck on a puzzle but is ultra rewarding when you succeed. I still think to this day that they should adapt this into a movie. The Dig is a great download for those who are looking for a nostalgic romp into a much simpler time.
many hours of memories. This game had fun puzzles to figure out... some dialogue was hilarious and put on repeat.
I spent 4 hours swearing at a dead space turtle. 10/10
fantastic story. second only to Indy and the Fate of Atlantis
Really interesting story, inspired by an idea originally created for Spielberg's "Amazing Stories". Only twice I got stuck because of the game, one due to a rod not being too visible, like part of the scenery's artwork, the other one due to some sequence of events that is not really hinted at all (minor spoiler: in the Map room), but other than that, it was a smooth experience. There are some other nags like the pain in the neck of a creature's corpse which has to be reassembled exactly right, and such. ScummVM (or at least this version of it) is also a pain mainly because of this 320x200 resolution. Should have used the native resolution and resize the pixels, so that the window manager wouldn't go changing the sizes of all the open windows. But all in all, it was a very enjoyable gameplay.
90's LucasArts SCUMM engine. These are my favorite games.
Contains several scenes of intense shovel-work and 0-g drilling but too much non-digging for my liking.
7/10
Such amazing memories! One of the first games I ever played and I still enjoyed every bit of it! I even shed a tear or two at the end.
I bought this more because I'm a Spielberg movie fan more than Lucas Arts point and click adventure game fan.
I got this for 2 dollars on a sale I was curious to see a dropped movie concept by Spielberg and Orson S Card writer of Enders Game fame.It feels like a spiritual successor to Close Encounters of the Third Kind it is very Sci Fi. I don't want to spoil to much but because the world is interesting and the best part of the game. Its dripping with ambience with stellar music through out and I was not expecting the T 1000 Robert Patrick himself voicing the main character. This game is old it came out in 95 so I had a few hiccups it wouldn't run properly in full screen until I turned off DPI settings also F1 for saving F5 for loading (remove numlock). Its still pretty blurry at times and the characters faces barely register only in cutscenes. Gameplay well its a point and click a frustrating one with classic obtuse rub item everywhere to see if that will work. I can see why this one is one of the hardest and I beat both Monkey Islands. I confess I used a guide I was here for the story not a brain teaser. Its not a bad story it has some interesting ideas. I would wait for a seam sale to buy it though
A-
A true classic. Quite nearly 30 years since I played this and I'm surprised at how much I remembered. Some truly remarkable animations for it's age. I'm so glad I still have my original big box!!
One of the best adventure games ever made, period.
It's a rod.
Engraved.
Five geometric shapes.
( ͡* ෴ ͡*)
A good over story. Game play a bit hard to find out what to do next, but over all worth a play for the story. Feels like a interactive movie.
Good game, good story from the old days.
:)
Epic Game!
one of my favorite games of all time!
The game is a gem, but small screen is too small, full screen is bigger than the actual screen so you don't see may be 1/3 of the screen from the right and bottom edges with a black stripe on the left.
Amazing opportunitty to finnally close this game :)
Goat game!!!! 90s
