Planet RIX-13

Fun, short and cheap puzzle-adventure game about escaping an alien world.

There's plenty of backtracking, no music, easy puzzles and a simple artstyle, yet it was somehow strangely engaging.

The game's autosaves are very forgiving and someone was kind enough to write out a full walkthrough, which you can find on the Guides page in case you get stuck or want more details on the Achievements.

This game should entertain you for about an hour. Grab it on sale and you'll probably have a good time with it.

Short, logical, good pixel art, immersive sound effect and ambiance.

Cute little "walking" adventure game. It's really close to being a classic point and click adventure game, but there's a couple of "dexterity" sections involved (I mean, they're easy but if you try to rush them, your character's walking speed will kill you). The game is mostly inventory and note reading puzzles, with the most difficult couple of puzzles taking a minute to figure out. Took under an hour to beat the first time and then less than half an hour to beat again (could have sped that up even further by reusing some codes which don't change, but had a long pause between sessions) to hunt the few missing achievements (the endings are mutually exclusive so you'll have to do so if you want to go for 100%, but be warned they don't diverge too much).

I've played longer and harder Flash adventure games, but there's enough charm to it for a recommend it if you want to support small devs and want to kill a bit of time.

Short, sweet, charming. The ambient noise and exotic environments were satisfying, I enjoyed the game's atmosphere quite naturally and it really did feel like the environment was complete in spite of the small explore spaces. The puzzles were entertaining, easily hinting or guiding at their solutions meant they weren't mind-bending in complexity, but they were fun. The graceful promise to reward a Steam achievement for each and every type of character death experienced was fun, and death was at minimal cost to game progress so it hindered nothing. I enjoyed playing this through, but I'd warrant to mention that there's not much content and the game is incredibly short, for those who might have cause to complain.

Pretty interesting but short point & click adventure. Definitely has a deep lore to it, but just like your character you are dropped into it with no prior knowledge and little time study. Only criticism is the translations could use a little work; it's not bad and you'll understand everything presented to you, just needs a touch of polishing.

For about an hour of gameplay and a couple different endings, I'd say a few dollars is worth it.

Short and amusing. No real story, you get an idea of what might have happened and you fill in the blanks with any theory you want.

I liked this little adventure game. There is nothing new here -- it has all the same tropes that you have seen before in a hundred other games (restore power, fix the computer, read emails, find codes to unlock new areas, etc etc etc) -- but for what it is, it is nicely done, with a surprising amount of polish for what I assume was a first effort at game development. The only thing I would like to see added are some ambient sounds, or maybe a futuristic soundtrack to give the game a little more atmosphere, however I understand there was probably no budget for that sort of thing. Overall, a short and sweet adventure that can be 100% completed in under two hours.

Short, but long enough to tell its story. It's a vignette, not a feature film.

Gameplay is very close to a text adventure (interactive fiction) game, translated to a 2D pixel environment.
The artwork and soundscape are fine.

Almost all puzzles are "encounter dog-shaped lock, wander around until you kind a dog-shaped key".
Expect quite a bit of backtracking. The ability to "fast travel" back to the overmap without walking all the way to the edge of the screen would remove some tedium.

The only puzzle puzzle are the safes:

* there are two safes - which is which?
* Typing digits isn't enough, you have to hit the "En" key
* How do you type a birthday (YYYY-MM-DD) in only four digits?
* OK these are American dates? Which pair of digits is the day again?

Oh, also, there's a pressure lock that needs two people to open it.
Don't worry -- it doesn't.

A simple game but engrossing and enjoyable. Your character progresses and survives through observation, logic and memory. Shallow fun and worth the £0.59 that I paid.

This developer has a very good design philosophy, something that is unfortunately nowhere to be seen in a large majority of video games. They give you a world to explore, a narrative to unravel, a mystery to solve, all while backing off and letting you have the satisfaction of figuring it all out for yourself. But they also refrain from going too far and making a game so complicated and lacking in enjoyment that you will be rushing to guides every 5 minutes. This game is a very short adventure, but a good one nonetheless.

A really nice little game and well worth the small purchase. It's a 2D adventure game where you move by using the arrow keys and interact with objects, including computer terminals, machines, and picking useful objects up and sometimes combining them in certain ways. Along the way you solve some surprisingly effective and involving puzzles. The sound is modest but the pixel-style graphics are very well done. There are several ways to die but the save system ensures you never lose any progress, so frustration is minimal. A very effective alien planet adventure.

Great short adventure with intuitive and logical puzzles that are focused mostly on exploration. Graphics and sound are nice and add to immersion.

Definitely can recommend, I was sort of disappointed to discover that its developer haven't made any other games like this one.

Surprising good for a short game, more content than I expected. Nothing is too difficult but it also isn't too easy. A good small game worth playing if you like science fiction.

Planet RIX-13 is a very short point'n'click pixel adventure telling an episode out of the life of an unspecified avatar that crashed while landing on a strange planet. The game progresses pretty close to straight along but I liked the way new locations are discovered. Ultimately, you sort of competently roger-wilco your way to an okay conclusion.

I would have liked codes, passwords and the puzzles to be randomised so that you would have to actually get the relevant information as opposed to remember solutions from another run.

With just over an hour of fun Planet RIX-13 is okay-priced - I bought it at a sale though. I recommend the game but you may want to buy at a discount too.

Short (I needed less than an hour to finish), but nice atmosphere and different possibilities to actually die increase the tension. Puzzles difficulty level is low, but it at least forced me to take some notes on safe codes, frequencies and especially the plant-mix-puzzle.
I enjoyed this one.

I was very leery of buying this game. I love point and clicks but they are not all created equal. I was pleasently surprised by though. The world is neat and intriguing. I enjoyed the pixel art style. The sound was decent. I really wish it had been a longer game. I felt that is the game was longer, we could have delved deeper into the lore of the planet. Shortness aside, it's totally worth the money if you are a fan of this genre. There were more places to go than I expected. In some ways this reminded me of Dustbowl (another great game). I hope this developer makes more games.

Basically a Point and click game. Has a nice moody atmosphere, graphics and sound are nice enough, nothing amazing. I managed to finish the game once in about 45 minutes but there are multiple ways to end the game, so I'll be revisiting it for at least one more run. Puzzles aren't terribly taxing but require attentiveness. Overall just a nice little experience.

I have mixed feelings about Planet RIX-13, it’s neither a great game nor a bad one. I’d like to give this game a “neutral” rating but Steam doesn’t allow me to do it.
So I decided to «thumb up» the game because I hope the developer would polish his game.

Planet RIX-13 pretends to be so called “old school pixel graphic point-n-click adventure”

There’re few puzzles in the game and they are rather simple so you don’t need to look for the game’s walkthrough.

The plot is a typical story about solving mysteries after the crash-landing on an alien planet abandon by humans. Planet RIX-13 is an extremely simple point-and-click adventure game.
Sadly, the game doesn’t really have much to say in the end, though it lasts less than an hour. It is basically a short story in game form, being almost purely linear in nature (you have an alternative ending here).

Graphically, it's exactly as presented at the screenshots.
I don’t like pixel graphics but even for me the game’s graphics is pretty nice.

There’s no music in the game at all and the developer used only three sounds in the game.

Nevertheless somehow the game gave me a sensation of the sci-fi atmosphere while I was playing it.

Summary: I guess if you're a die-hard fan of the 1990s adventures and wish we were back there again, this would completely be the game for you.
But even in this case you’d better buy it on sale because it’s too short.
Really it looks like a demo-version and you can’t expect more than an hour of gameplay.

By the way if you’re an achievement hunter Planet RIX-13 could be the next ideal game in your Steam profile.

У меня смешанные чувства в отношении Планеты РИКС-13: это и не отличная, и не плохая игра. Хотелось бы дать игре «нейтральный» рейтинг, но Стим не позволяет этого.
Так что я решил «поднять палец вверх» этой игре, потому что надеюсь на то, что разработчик отшлифует свою игру.

Планета РИКС-13 делает вид, что она – так называемая «пиксельная приключенческая игра старой школы».

В игре есть немного загадок и они довольно просты, так что вам не нужно будет искать прохождение этой игры.

Сюжет – это обычная история о решении тайн после аварийной посадки на чужой планете, заброшенной людьми. Планета РИКС-13 – чрезвычайно простая приключенческая игра.
К сожалению, игра немногое может поведать в конце, хотя ее продолжительность – меньше часа. Это в основном короткий рассказ в игровой форме, почти линейный по своей сути (у вас здесь есть альтернативная концовка).

Графически игра выглядит точно так, как представлено на скриншотах.
Мне не нравится пиксельная графика, но даже мне графика игры показалась приятной.

Музыки в игре нет (совсем) и разработчик использовал только три звука в игре.

Тем не менее, во время игры я каким-то образом ощущал научно-фантастическую атмосферу игры.

Резюме: Предполагаю, что если вы убежденный поклонник приключенческих игр 1990-х годов и хотите, чтобы мы снова оказались там, то эта игра – для вас.
Но даже в этом случае вам лучше купить ее со скидкой, т.к. игра – слишком коротка.
На самом деле игра похожа на демо-версию, так что не ожидайте более часа геймплея.

Кстати, если вы охотник за достижениями, то Planet RIX-13 может стать следующей идеальной игрой в вашем профиле Steam.

It's a very short game, does present some challenges to the player, although I feel liek this could just be a normal flash game on armor games, meh whatever it was decent and I enjoyed it although the story could definietly be more fleshed out.
