Weapon Shop Fantasy is a shop simulator with a whole lot of RPG elements.
Or maybe it's an RPG with a whole lot of shop simulation…
You decide.
Anyway.
Craft mighty weapons!
Enchant them with magic!
Here are just a few of the things you can do in Weapon Shop Fantasy…
Defeat mighty (pixelated) enemies
Collect rare materials
Learn awesome and useful skills
Make your own skill combinations
Defeat monsters for new materials… or just steal them and run away
Bring on new staff, send them on adventures, keep all of the materials they gain
Read some hilarious (and sometimes cheesy) dialogue between some pretty silly characters
In Weapon Shop Fantasy, you can also hire a team of staff members to do specific jobs for you, additionally you can improve their abilities and push them to develop new skills.
The staff training system is almost limitless, so there's always room for improvement and investment in your staff. Combine staff training with enemy battles, collected materials, and skill unlocks, to make your crafted weapons and equipment more and more powerful.
There are over 200 different pieces of gear and equipment to be crafted, with an equally impressive selection of over 200 skills. With skill combinations, you've got almost limitless options.
There's a huge selection of over 70 monsters, as well as a few giant bosses to conquer, in addition to over a hundred missions to complete.
We've also added some unique mechanics to the game. One example is having to lure bosses out of hiding, using food to entice them. Offer them something sweet, then destroy them.
When you craft different weapons and equipment, you'll notice that each one has its own attributes and skill bindings. The weapon crafting also has an element of luck, so you never know when you might just luck out and craft the perfect weapon.
Also, what weapon crafting game would be complete without additional enchanting mechanics to further imbue your equipment with even more raw power.
In addition to crafting and making money, you can also send your staff members on auto-battle journeys where they'll earn materials for you as they progress deeper and deeper into dungeons. You'll see your materials building up, but pay attention to the health of your staff. If you feel there's a chance they might die, you can run from battle at any time and keep any materials they've already earned from that journey.
We hope, whatever you decide to do in the game, that you have a great time doing it.
Sincerely,
Digdog Studios Ltd.

This is one of those hard to rate games - I like it, but I can see it being frustrating to a lot of people. I found the learning curve pretty steep, but once I got how to play, it's appealing to the completionist side of me.
It's an OK game but after awhile I hit a wall where I didn't want to play anymore....There were too many heroes to try and manage...I also didn't like having to pay gold for every single action that is taken...That got old fast.
At it's core you hire crafters to make equipment for you which you then sell to make a profit and pay off your debts. You then hire adventurers who go out and bring you back new resources to make even better gear. You can then use that better gear to equip your adventurers, allowing them to go to more dangerous places and bring back even better loot. Rinse and repeat.
I really enjoyed the core gameplay loop of Weapon Shop Fantasy as I enjoy micromanaging. E.g. you get a quest to make 5 shadow lances which require a certain ingredient from the demon enemies. So you craft the best armor you can and then enchant it with dark protection to help your adventurer survive there. He still dies so you also craft a good weapon and enchant it with light to do extra damage to demons. He still dies sometimes so maybe you craft a different weapon which will teach him a strong skill which means you have to run 20 adventures in the Baby Forest until he has enough XP to use the skill without having that weapon equipped. Put all the other gear back on him and voila - he can consistently sweep the demon palace. You have him run it 30~ times and maybe you have enough loot to finish your quest.
However the reason I ultimately gave it a thumbs down is because it doesn't respect your time. As described above you frequently run into situations where you just have to do the same adventure 30 times until you have the resource you need or you've learnt a certain skill. Each adventure takes 1-2 minutes, then you have to manually tell each adventurer to 'restart'. So if you need to run an adventure 30 times that means you are sitting staring at your screen for 30+ minutes, hitting 'restart' every now and then. Why is there no 'auto-adventure' button? I could go do something else for half an hour, come back and continue with the game. Instead they make it so you have to sit and stare at the screen to keep it progressing.
I think the devs had an identity crisis with this game where they didn't want to admit it was a semi-idle game. They do give you the ability to 'auto-adventure' but only once you've beaten the final boss...
Trash. Yes, I see some potential here, but the game is very clunky. The introductory part is tedious (I have been tolerating it for almost 4 hours and there aren't any minutes or seconds I can say that I was enjoying). The concept of losing everything if you fail on the expedition is very frustrating. What is worse is that the game tends to be an idle game but it lacks almost every component good idles games should have.
This was in my backlog and I finally decided to try it.
For those familiar with Kairosoft mobile games, this is pretty similar with less building options. You just manage a weapon shop which the main point is to sell items and make money. There is a lot of progression to unlock but the formula is basic. Make gear and sell it to get enough to advance to the next tier of items. This will also unlock new characters by making requested items. Gear workers up and send them out to battle for new supplies. It is all autobattle so no skill is required.
Overall it's a fun Simulation/Management game which I recommend if you are into the genre.
There is an issue with achievements not recording on Steam deck, so most of my play through has been on my PC.
Great to play during work, doesn't need too much attention. Simple gameplay satisfying for hoarders and progressionists
Overall, I think this game is fine so I wish I could give it a mixed review, I do think it is more negative than positive though.
I feel like this game has quite a lot of content, there's lots of characters, enemies, weapons, enemies, skill and more.
Sadly, I feel like that all this game has, lots of content and at this point I just play for the achievements, which are also quite stupid sometimes.
First let's tackle the amount of items. There are tons yes, but some of them are entirely useless on their own. All equipment has skills though, which is really cool, but there's stuff like Assist, Passive, Active and Magic skills, even though it is never explained what "Assist" skill even means. Not only that, but there is no easy way to find what skill is on what. Let's say you come back from not playing for a month and one person needs to learn a certain skill, not for a quest but just because you wrote down that they needed that, so you need to find that. There is no way to find it without looking through everything, there isn't even a proper Wiki for this game.
Might as well address the enemies next since they suffer from a similar issue. Sure there are lots of them, and you can see all enemies sorted by difficulty and type in a compendium, but it does not show you what area they are in unless you check the adventure screen itself, which can only be accessed when you manually send out a character on a quest, which, if you have auto-question (more on this stupid choice later), you'll likely not see very often. Also, in the compendium you can only see the monster's name, sprite, element, some flavor text and the 3 things it drops. It does not state what type of damage it deals (Phys, Magic), how much health it has, it's weaknesses or strengths to neither element nor type or any of the skills it has, which makes it super difficult to know what types of weapons/skills to use against enemies, should my characters have the ability to reflect magic damage, maybe negate it, maybe weaken it, who knows? The only way to figure that out is to watch your super boring adventures, where your characters walk slowly, find something to interact with (tree, ore, enemy, food, etc.) and then watch em interact.
Next up, the adventuring, it is just fine. Like I said, you can send characters out to adventure and watch them do stuff. Make sure to equip them properly or they will die, rinse repeat. I don't mind this kind of gameplay style for an idle game, but this game does not have the 'idle' part, which is fine, but then there should be something to actively do. Sometimes you just need to grind some resources so you can make money or get better stuff or level up your characters, but you have to send them out to adventure manually every single time. The only way to automate this, is to unlock 'auto-adventuring' which will just auto-restart the same adventure once a character dies or succeeds the current one. Apparently you can only get this by beating the final boss. What is the point of this awful decision? Either make your game an idle game or give the player more to do.
There's also upgrades you can get for your stations that make them more powerful, annoyingly though, the last upgrade for each gives you 2 choices that makes them more powerful. Once you picked one though, you are stuck with it forever, so that's awful.
The achievements are mostly fine like "kill x enemy" or "unlock all skill slots for y", but there are some like manually retreating an adventure 5K times or get 10K from clicking your pet which are just absurd, they are so not worth the time investment unless you have a way to cheese it with an auto-clicker or something.
All-in-all, I think this game is fine. It's an alright idle game once auto-adventuring is unlocked (whether that's legit or not) and it has some fun ideas. Sadly the QoL features are nearly non-existent and there's better games out there.
Interesting simple game mechanics!
Crafting, hire many different heroes, sending heroes to travel, equipment, attached to the equipment skills, heroes attributes leveling, small economy (leveled heroes demand more payment), selling stuff to earn money.
Remark: at the start it is much easier to lose all money by taking wrong decisions. Just click on your pet to get money (or just replay). Later, earning money is much simpler.
