I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I want to mention that the visuals in the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.

I want to mention that the audio in the game is well done even if it is simplistic and somewhat repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.

Gameplay

This is a time management strategy game, where careful planning is required, due to the limited amount of resources that are available; hence the words "management" and "strategy."

There are three game difficulty modes to choose from: Relaxed; Normal and Professional. The difference between these game difficulty modes: timer speed and scoring. In relaxed mode there is no timer and scoring. In casual mode, there is a timer and scoring, but the timer is slow to drain and scoring is low. In expert mode, there is a timer and scoring, but the time drains rather quickly and scoring is much higher.

The star and score rating depends on a couple of factors: How fast the level was completed. How much resources are leftover. This only applies to the casual and expert mode. The star rating system: Three Stars (Gold;) Two Stars (Sliver) and One Star (Bronze.) There is an opportunity to replay all the levels for better scoring and star rating.

There are a few special bonuses: Freeze Time; Worker Movement; Worker Speed; Additional Worker and Addition Resources. All of these special bonuses have a time limit. But they can be used once the bar has been filled up. These bonuses are extremely useful when the game is being played on expert mode.

There are twenty-eight different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked.

Miscellaneous

There is an extra feature included in the game: Wallpapers. There are six different wallpapers; they can be accessed through the game's main menu screen.

There are eight different trading cards to collect. Only four of those trading cards are given out by the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its Booster Pack Creator.

Final thoughts: I do not think that this game has much of a replay value to it. If you are into time management strategy games. Then you might find this game somewhat enjoyable to a certain extent.

The evil witch Mortessa has destroyed the kingdom of the elves and has turned nature against the elves. Upon returning from a distant country, Princess Aerin finds her kingdom in ruins. Elven Legend 2: The Bewitched Tree can convince above all by the good level design and the addictive gameplay. If you like the series of 12 Labors of Hercules, you will also like this game.

Fazit

Elven Legend 2: The Bewitched Tree kann vor allem durch das gute Level-Design und das süchtig machende Gameplay überzeugen. Wer die Serie um 12 Labours of Hercules mag, wird dieses Spiel sicherlich auch mögen.

Steam achievements are ineffective. It's a cute little game that doesn't work. Very disappointed

Elven Legend was a decent game although achievements require a LOT of grinding with no indication how close you are to finishing. Elven Legend 2 carries the grinding even further and design changes from the first game are terrible.

What I REALLY DID NOT LIKE were the multitude of poorly done cut scenes scattered in the game play. It wouldn't have been bad if the scene just shifted to the area in question but the cut scenes zoomed in on the area with really large blurry graphics and then went back to the standard graphics when done. Just really not fun at all.

I also did not like the timer in this one. It is a "clock" (top center) that did not delete the star when the time ran out. So if the time was close, there was no way to tell if the star was gone until the level finished and the stars were awarded.

Resources are not immediately auto-collected. You can mouse over them to collect but if you don't, there is a delay before they are collected. Just another change to make the game more time-consuming.

The replay map was also screwy in this one. The levels go upward but in order to hit the PLAY button, you have to scroll back to the bottom of the window. If you stay where the PLAY button is located, after a certain point you have no idea what level you are on until you actually get into the game. Or you can scroll up to the levels and click the next level to get it to start instead of using the PLAY button.

What is in the chests? I have no clue. Maybe the crystal chip? I never saw anything that told me what was in them either before or after opening them. I did not open one chest and I'm pretty sure I only got 4 crystal chips so that could be it but it didn't stop me from finishing the game. Go figure.

I prefer to play time management games without the use of power-ups (if possible) and build up all buildings to the max. Some similar games that have a relaxed option award 3 stars for each level completed. This is one of the few that awards no stars when playing relaxed.

It appears that there are more games in the series but not sure if I will buy any more. I was really disappointed and disillusioned in this iteration. The first game I was willing to replay levels for 3 stars; this one I did in the beginning but then quit that because the game just was not fun.

It's too bad that not all developers beta test their games to get feedback from real gamers. I think if they had, there would have been changes made to this one before it was released.

UPDATE: Almost forgot that the names of the player and city are limited to 5 characters! Five? Really? And the city is only mentioned once. It was never referenced again but I did finally remember it and restarted the game to "build it up".

Good casual game with very simple resource and time management.
I hope see more games of this series on steam.
Enjoyable cute art and story like a fairy tale. The Brazil portuguese translation is good and nothing to complain.
Recommended if you like the theme and look for a casual relax game.
Played on Manjaro Linux, without any problem found.

Time Management. Classic princess/evil queen story.

Pros:

• Cute art. Mostly.
  
• Smooth animation.
  
• Points earned allow you to rebuild the city through the main screen.
  
• Three difficult modes including no timer for those just looking for a bit of relaxing gameplay.

Cons:

• I see some of the other reviews mentioning grammar. I must admit, I wasn't paying too much attention to the text, it's a classic fairy tale scenario, so it didn't stand out to me.
  
• Button placement is awful. Continue/Skip are too close to the edges that when you transition back to the map, it scrolls up/down. I personally prefer when the entire map can fit on the screen like it is in other time management games, but that's neither here nor there. The scrolling because of where your mouse is after completing a level is a nuisance.
  
• Disruptive cinematics, at the beginning of most levels and during game play.
  
[*]Timer bars blocks by their own art. Hard to know how close to a buff activating you are. Hard to tell when you're low on time to get all your stars.

Not the worst, but redeemable. And I feel the devs could fix most of these.

Typical time management game w/different levels of difficulty. Nothing special but not bad overall. I admit that I didn't like this game as much as the first one but, as an obsessive compulsive, it fills a need.

Elven Legend 2: The Bewitched Tree isn't as good as the first Elven Legend. Why did you change from the cute graphics of the first game? The graphics in this game are a step backwards, imo. The gameplay is way too easy! There is no challenge, except to go back and replay if you want grind for acheivements. The voice acting is cheesey and the story is well, not good. The music is sleep inducing and as boring as the gameplay is, I found myself dosing off several times. I'm very disappointed with this game. Not recommended.

The first game was cute and we all enjoyed playing it, the grandkids too. This one . . . is somehow creepy. If there was a neutral option I would hit that, but I feel that people should know what they are buying and this game just doesn't gel somehow - maybe just too rushed to finish. Don't know.

Cons:
*The text/story is really terrible with very very bad English.

*The voice acting is overboard.

* The story doesn't hold together and at each stage it feels as if someone was working really hard to get to all 40 levels.

*The cute little worker who used to say "I just love my work" doesn't anymore.

I got to lvl 29, all 3 stars but just feel that I would rather waste my time doing something, anything else.

This is a very casual and fluffy strategy game. On the easiest difficulty, it's not timed, which makes it great for kids, beginners, or those of us who just needs something relaxing to play at the end of the day. Runs great on Linux and it's hard to beat the price.

The only con is that the English (at least) localization is *terrible*. I mean, some of the dialogue borders on All Your Base territory. Fortunately, the story isn't all that important to enjoying the game and I just choose to be amused by it. Guess you could also use it to show the kids the importance of good grammar if you don't want to look/sound silly. :)
