it's okay I guess, just not my game
it's a rpg and you can fee that in alot of ways
what botherde me most is that I had to grind for about 30 levels just so i could progress the story wich felt very unnesscecery to me
Bought on sale for like 3$, very good game. I got 9 hours out of it to hit lvl 99 and do all side quests, dungeons, loot boxes, and main quest. There are more options once you finish the main story if you like hardcore reruns for achievements. Going to try Cat Quest 2 next and then 3!
Amazing — short and sweet.
While it’s simple and more or less straightforward, it’s fun. Kinda miss this sort of games which can be blasted through. It’s almost dumb on the surface but the story has a couple of twists and the limited mechanics variety is smartly reused to have different types of quests. The art is wonderful and the looped music somehow doesn’t get annoying. It’s clear that a smart team worked on this game and understood development constraints well.
Can recommend to anyone who wants to have a good relaxing time with a game.
Cat Quest II and III are obviously better, but its interesting to see where they came from
Great adventure, mechanism, story, fun game
This was a very fun game, and although the story was pretty quick, there was lots of opportunities for side questing and grinding! The last few achievements were a bit of a struggle, but that adds to the fun!
good game that takes 8 hours without ng +, the only disadvantage are an annoying quest for an hour with running through the whole map 10 times

The quest that started it all
Cat Quest While I may be rough around the edges, I am the catalyst for the Cat Quest trilogy experience. This initial edition felt more like a mobile game, but it was unexpectedly well-designed and, most importantly, really charming and lovely.
The Problem
The initial entry in the series did not fully grasp the scope of what makes an adventure game with exploration, dungeons, and caves truly "fun." The addition of random chest gambling system for gear, as well as the immense grind and time sink of rolling through them all or saving up for 5000 gold for the golden chest, was somewhat meaningless in the long run, as they essentially handed you the most powerful weapon in the game before the final encounter making everything including levelling up and farming completely obsolete since you pretty much oneshot everything.
Conclusion
Playing this game from start to end will take you about an hour or two because there is no need to explore or do anything other than the primary quests, which are rather straightforward and do not present much of a challenge. Given that it is just single player compared to the other entries, it is still a good game that could potentially last you 15-20 hours but it can definitely be skipped in favor of the better implementations the other games in the series provide.
I have previously completed this game on other platforms, but I am still inclined to play it again on Steam. The adorable little cats, the cute ways to recharge energy, and the straightforward and enjoyable challenges all make me feel relaxed and happy during the game.
7/10
The first 100% playthrough takes ~10h. The first 4h are fun, remaining 6h are somewhat tiring.
Once done, the game asks you to beat it 4 more times in order to get all of the achievements. That's why i'm leaving it on red.
Great fun game, very cute as well, especially if you are a cat person.
Simple but fantastic time killer. I wouldn't call it Diablo with cats or Super cute Skyrim, its more like something you'd find on Armor Games back in the day. The gameplay never changes, you simply become more powerful the further you progress. I played the entire game on my Rog ally at work during down time and breaks, i couldn't imagine myself playing it on my PC.
I highly recommend it on a handheld. $3 for 9 hours is a good game in my book, even better when the story doesn't matter and i can pick it up whenever.
It's a cute game with a simple, accessible story and surprisingly intricate combat system. A great game for relaxed evenings. Takes 5-10 hours to complete.
Fun cute little game, going to try the other 2 here soon.
Very fun RPG and combat. The story was alright but it wasn't as important as the combat. The combat carries! 9.5/10
It is amazing for RPG lovers or casuals just looking for a good time. The story is an amazing piece of art.
A great game all the time through, from crashlanded on an island to flyng across the map
Gameplay is fun but there's not a single line of dialogue which wouldn't make me cringe.
"meowkay, pawtner? Pawsome!"
It had been a while to play a game just as I bought it, more over to invest almost 14 hours on it in less than a week.
Goods:
-Small size (less than 0.5GB).
-Easy to get started.
-Nice animations and loved the map design (quiet literally it's like walking on top of a map)
-Good sense of humor.
All the above makes it ideal for those that don't have much time to invest on a game.
Bads:
- It is a bit repetitive, with some quests needing to move back and forth.
- Its too easy to off of the main quest and complete most side missions first.
that's bad because if you go side missions 1st you feel like you wasted your time,
as progressing the main quest gives you abilities that makes traveling around the world much faster.
Overall I recommend this game, as its just what you'd expect from the store's photos and videos, a nice
cute game to spend some time without the need to invest a lot to it.
If you are in doubt play the demo.
amazing game. so much fun, especially if you like cats and hack and slash games. my mum and i both love it!
Simple fun
This game plays a bit like having access to just the overworld in old RPGs, but instead of turn based combat, you have action combat. Nothing about this game is complicated, or particularly difficult, but it's fun and has some funny writing.
This game is great for the price and has a few sequels if you want to get into a longer series.
It's cute, it's easy, it has cat puns, and the king says I'm rawrsome.
Really just simple fun, and there is nothing wrong with that. I like it.
I knew from the moment I saw the trailer for Cat Quest that I was going to love it.
It has the “je ne sais quoi”. It’s cute, it’s fun, but has a surprising amount of depth. It’s one of those games you could swear were developed by Nintendo or something.
Cat Quest is a top-down action RPG. You play the nameless hero who is on a quest to rescue his sister from the evil Drakoth.
In this adventure, you’ll traverse the continent of Felingard. You will slay various monsters, gain experience, collect coins, obtain gear, learn spells, and go on quests.
None of what you do in this game is revolutionary in any way, but it’s how the gameplay is executed that makes the game so darn entertaining. It’s rewarding, it’s addictive, and it brings out your inner completionist.
The art style is so fitting. The writing is so funny—especially with all the cat-related puns. There is even a bit of lore, to my surprise (which I suppose is expanded on in the sequels). The music is a bit repetitive, but epic.
The game also feels very polished, including gameplay-wise. I came across a bug once only. It was when I started a quest, then talked to an NPC, while at the same time, cancelling the same quest through the quest board right next to me. It messed up the navigation markers and I had to restart the game. But that’s it. That’s why this one bug stood out so much: There was only one. The game just ran flawlessly and never felt janky. I really like games that feel polished in this way.
There was a surprising amount of depth to the hat-armor-weapon system, which encouraged me to try out different outfits for different stat boosts, and they’re all so cute and funny. This is a game that isn’t exactly difficult, but it requires you to pay attention during the combat, otherwise you’ll get your rear handed to you very quickly. You’ll have to learn the patterns for each monster, combining melee attacks, spells, and dodging out of the enemies’ attack zones. The dungeons have plenty of hidden chests with loot that you can find by deciphering the hints the developers left in them.
I don’t have any real criticism to share, other then a few nit-picky points that I’m almost certain are addressed in the sequels:
First and most importantly, this game does not work natively with an Xbox Series controller on my M1 Mac Mini, which was a bummer. I had to play the game with a keyboard and mouse combo. It was pretty easy to play that way though, so that was good.
The backtracking can be a bit annoying. It gets better in the end, though I won’t spoil why, but until then, you’re just walking a lot, and slowly at that. It would help if there was some kind of fast-travel option.
When you zoom out to look at the map, you can’t really go anywhere, so if you want to go to a certain place, and you’re not sure where it is, you need to constantly zoom in and out as you get closer. A proper map would help, or just the ability to fly over the map and click on locations when you’re zoomed out.
Finally, I would appreciate a quest log of sorts, so I don’t have to walk all over the map looking at which dungeons I haven’t cleared and quests I have yet to take on. I just pull up the quest log, look at the quests that are available (I would need to look at each quest board at least once to get the quests logged), and then choose one so the navigation can point me to the right location.
I got this game on discount for just 3.24 EUR, which feels like an absolute steal, given how polished it is and how fun it was to play. It can be replayed for additional unlockables and achievements, and it’s easy enough to pick up that I think many players will. I finished the main and all sidequests on my first playthrough in just under 11 hours.
1) It reminded me of my childhood
2) I like the gear design
3) Awesome Quests
Get this for its simplicity, cuteness overload (save game by taking a cat nap!), addictive hack&slash (mewrder!!) and cat puns galore. Game makes fun of its flaws and RPGs in general, a chuckle here & there guaranteed. :)
Possible turn-offs (or turn-ons for completionist masochists, I don't judge) : risk of quickly becoming repetitive in terms of enemies, dungeons and fetch quests, a very grindy mid-late game, & high likelihood of not getting 100% achievements completed (extra grindy). A possibility to just upgrade gear with gold like it's done with the skills, as an option to the rng gear gamble, would've been nice as well.
I do recommend waiting for a good discount, unless of course you must become a Catventurer right meow!
A cute simple RPG with a fun game loop and some humor. Doesn't overstay its welcome.
It's nice. Not outstanding, there's certainly things to nitpick, but nice. A decent action adventure that's not too hard and not too long.
I originally played this on the Switch years ago and loved it, didn't know about 2 and 3 so I figured I'd replay the first one and go through the series. I love cats, D&D and all the fun pop culture references in the dialogue. Absolutely purrfect game. Graphics are cute and crisp, controls are standard and the questing is so nice.
This game is cute and fun. It reminds me of the old days when graphics weren’t as advanced as they are today, and games had a charming, cartoon-like style.
Cat Quest is a fun and colorful RPG that’s simple to play and full of charm. It’s great for beginners or anyone who loves cats. While it’s a short game and might feel too simple for experienced players, its humor and replayability make it enjoyable..
Pros:
+ Fun Exploration: The map has lots of hidden treasures and secrets to find.
+ Adorable Style and Humor: Cute designs and funny cat puns keep it entertaining.
+ Extra Challenges: Replay options and special rewards add more to do.
+ Easy to Start: Perfect for those new to RPGs.
Cons:
- Repetitive Dungeons: Many look and feel the same.
- Basic Story: The plot is simple and not very deep.
- Limited Music: The tunes are nice but repeat too often.
Final Rating: B
*Rating from lowest to highest: C, B, A, S.
Such a Pawsome game, defffinitely recommend nya~
Purrlease, this is pawsome. Meowpproved!
haha the cat went on a quest
Симпатичная и юморная небольшая экшн-рпг с видом сверху. Приятное заполнение для пары вечеров
it was fun good for killing time
Its a cool short little game. It has charm but not a ton of depth. Still cool though.
A beautiful little game. A love all the cat talk.
And... IMPAWSTER
This game's wholesome and adorable. Plays like Diablo but with cuteness overload. Reminds me of Another Crab's Treasure... very different games, but they have pretty similar humor and relaxed RPG gameplay. If you enjoyed that one, you'll enjoy this one.
It's an entertaining game, it's a quick nice animation graphics, The story is perfect, not too cumbersome, a bit young age but sometimes one just want slay some dragons and move on. The no mouse thing takes a bit to get used to, but frees up one had for snacks in between fights. I am on ly sixteen hours into it but it felt like 5.
Fun little game. Mechanically simple but fun with satisfying combat and spells. Story was pretty good for a game like this too.
I just discovered the cat quest games about a month before three came out. Epic just gave the second one for free, played it, loved it, went searching for the first. Turns out i had that free on epic as well. Cat quest 3 came out and i was going to buy it on epic but it only was coming out on steam so i headed on over and they had a special bundle for threes release with all three games for 25 bucks and bam. I love that they are all slightly different in their fighting style. So i am playing all at the same time and i am not even remotely getting bored of them because they are so different. And i love the mew game effects because you can actually make the game hard. Base game seemed like it might be hard when you first start playing it but then as you level yourself and your weapons they all become pretty easy.... but hard mode is actually hard.
A fine game to spend some times if you're bored and don't have anything important to do.
👌
This game was one of the most beautifully written and aesthetic games I have ever played. I love when a game feels like more than just a game and touches you in ways that you keep with you even away from the game. This game does just that. You don't think of an "action" game when you look for cozy games, but this game is both cozy and full of adventure/action. I highly recommend this especially for those of you, who like me, haven't really played an adventure game before but want to begin expanding their horizon. 11/10. Beautiful.
Now I only wish Cat Quest II & Cat Quest III were playable on Mac ;)
I can understand why people like this game. I will also say I skipped alot of dialogue in this game while looking for an easy 100%. The frustrations of playing the game 5 times to get all achievements though because things for the old master armor don't stack. Some of the modifiers just extend frustrating runs (one where you can't use items so you have to farm levels). The naked run is at least an hour and half to two hours. The combat is simple and became very repetitive eventually and I after the first playthrough I just felt the game was extending my play time with minimal rewards.
With these things said, the game is fine and I don't think the positive reviews are wrong. I just am saying that some of the frustrations out weighed my enjoyment of this game.
It is a very cute, mechanically simple, fast-paced action/adventure game. You can change the equipment you wear, but I wouldn't call it an RPG with its linear quest lines and lack of cat customization. If you play games with the goal of making each subsequent playthrough more difficult and claiming a spot on leaderboards, this game might be for you.
As simple game. I like it
Cute simple game. Nothing amazing, but honestly it works well for what it is
Ameowzing.
