"Tyd wag vir Niemand (Time waits for Nobody)" is a fairly basic Unity asset flipped first person adventure, one of many hundreds, if not thousands of these glutting Steam. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store assets, arranged them haphazardly in a first person adventure game template (in this case Unity's much abused UFPS Ultimate FPS template), and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.

In fairness there's some attempt to make a linear adventure story, as you plod through badly arranged assets (put up in a surreal manner and punctuated by pages of text because the developer, despite "borrowing" so many asset store packs, couldn't work out the "show, don't tell" part of game design), so they tried to turn all the borrowed assets into a real game. But it's awful. Of course. Who knew, when people lack the capability to create their own game assets, they also tend to be unable to do the other parts of game development either.

Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware.

Skermunkel/Skobbejak Games have a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. One example of Skermunkel/Skobbejak Games doing this is Geeste, which is really asset flipped (once more) from the "UFPS: Ultimate FPS" asset, written by the actual developers, Opsive.

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The mismatched game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, it's a wonder why they couldn't be bothered "borrowing" higher quality assets for this asset flip. This is a lot like going on a shoplifting spree but only stealing the cut price store brand goods. Regardless, the poor quality assets alone should be enough to deter gamers from bothering with this.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

"Tyd wag vir Niemand (Time waits for Nobody)" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is "Into the Dark Abyss", for starting the first part of the game, trivial to get, but less than 15 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, even the people who own this game weren't interested in it.

Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, and isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 15 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who didn't bother engaging with this game? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game.

That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with little merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.

It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.

This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name.

So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not!

"Tyd wag vir Niemand (Time waits for Nobody)" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

It's a timing and precision driven platformer. "Adventure" part is too weak to make it all worthwhile.

This game shows the versatility of the standard Unreal 3 assets, but also highlights how a good idea can be executed poorly.

There is a lot of challenge in this game that feels unfair or at the very least not worth the attempt. You can feel the decisions being made where the designers felt they needed to add length to the game so they ramped the speed of some objects up to rediculous levels or created sections where you would have to repeat the same tough jumps or time stops over and over.

Given that there are so few assets that appear built for the game, they were able to get a few pieces of stunning imagery, and I wish they had focused more on building these very cool images and ideas, and less time worrying about making the game enough of a challenge to warrent playing it.

If you like falling slowly to your death, have I got a game for you!
Seriously, this is not good enough. Don't waste your time or money on this.

If this was someone's school project or F2P then I would say nice try, but they are actually charging people money for this.

A bit inferior to their previous work, 'n Verlore Verstand, but less glitchy.
This game is good overall, the puzzles are ingenius and positively bizarre.
The only problem is sometimes you'll find yourself struggling not with the levels difficulty, but with the Engine itself, and controlling your movement in mid-air is pretty hard, so having a crosshair wouldn't hurt though. But it's an interesting experience and the music is really nice.

You know what's fantastic game design? Watching a ship fly around while you're stuck in a boat moving on rails. Then, trying to slow down time so the fast moving objects won't hit it. And it's impossible to judge depth due to your point of view.

The game's gimmick could be interesting, the cancerous level design makes it a tedious fucking slog.

hugely disappointing game. had a cool visual style but that's about all the praise it deserves. the precision required for some of the platforming is just maddening (and not in a "this is a finely crafted challenge" type of way, more in a "this garbage floaty imprecise movement is making the very obvious path in front of me almost impossible to take" way). plus the short musical loops that are much shorter than the amount of time you'll spend in the area they loop in and the absence of any audio options to adjust at all was another sign of low effort on the developers' part. ditto for the story segments that were literally just arial text on a white background. level 5 is one of the worst designed levels, mechanically, that i have ever played in a game. just unbelievably bad. it's an entire segment on the rails where you are using your speeding up/slowing down time to get a floating ship above you through timed obstacles but i've lost count of how many times now the on rails movement path brings you somehwere that obscures your view of the obstacles and causes you to die. plus the hitbox for the floating ship you are guiding is enormous and will get hit by obstacles you thought you cleared. stopped playing to write this review, went back for a few more tries, now i'm just requesting a refund.

Goei crap mense ... wie het die QA op die game gedoen. Ek het letterlik 5min gespeel en toe in 'n endless drop gegaan op 'n punt. Julle maak die game developers in SA se naam gat ... Ek is nie impressed nie ... (En ek is 'n developer)

If you really want to feel like you worked for your achievements - this game is for you. It's very hard. So so hard. So very hard. I LOVE IT! I actually pride myself on being one of the few people who has actually finished it (shout out to Doctor XOR for helping me out!). For those who haven't realized yet that Skobbejak games are like crack, you're missing out. You just have to be up for the challenge and be very good with precision and/or platforming.

That said, I love the game mechanic, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before. You can stop/play with time and use it to your advantage. Levels get more and more challenging as you progress and the story has multiple endings. This game is also visually stunning and has a great soundtrack. Abstract GOLD. I'm replaying it again and I hate (I mean love!) the marble level. No, I mean, hate. Really.

I can't wait for the new project to come out!

Lured in by the screenshots pretentious name of the game, I purchased it while on sale.

I would normally wait until I've beaten a game to review it, but throwing some royalty free music and assets together in Unity then pretending there is a point or story by splashing some text on screen doesn't feel like a very well designed experience. What killed it was the Roblox obby level design.

Don't waste your time, don't waste your money.

Looks great but gameplay sucks. Feels like you are constantly walking on grease plus some moving platform glitches. I get excellent frames on game yet it feels like I am running 30fps. Music tends to start annoying me on constant loop even though there isn't much going on I start to feel like I need to be having something going on? Anyway weird game just ain't my thing.

Weird but fun. I really like the Inception/DoctorStrange enviros, really trippy stuff. Couple that with a cool slow mo mechanic
and some beautiful music and you have yourself quite a unique experience.

Its def an indie title though and it does still feel a bit rough around the edges, but thats also what kinda gives it its charm.

Another interesting and unique game from Skobbejak Games, definitely the most polished game theyve made so far.

Ive only started playing but so far I really like the gameplay mechaincs, the environments and the music, it can be quite
challenging but thats what I like about it.

I'll be writing a more in-depth review as soon as Ive finished it, but so far its awesome.

A mind bomb one might say. Second level has an 'inception' thing going with it, and the others, well, the mechanics to the game are very good, can't fault the premise. Looking excellent for early access though everyone.

2 bug and 1 niggle is all I've come across so far, the bug/glitch was on the fourth level where the firey ball launched and ended up near the top of the fountain where I couldn't reach it, restarted the level and it was fine. Second bug was located on the stone level with the lifts towards the end of the level, I found that you could jump onto the platform and as it rose into the air, if you jumped again you would be thrown off it into the void, respawned and repeated and it happened again. If I was sensible on the lift it was alright and I was able to complete the level :) .

The niggle is the jumping or rather the landing after jumping, it is almost like you're breaking your knees even after a little jump, even though everything is quite sureal around you, it can be quite disorientating.

Excellent work though, I've thouroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to updates/addons :)

edit 28/2/17 : A new level and a new challenge of spacial awareness and judgement and an obviously drunk tour guide minded ship captain :) if this continues it's going to have to get an award as this just keeps getting better and better :)
