The concept looked good but the game kept crashing.
requires xbox frame work to be installed. Apologies, I mistakenly had the impression that xna 4.0.0.0 was part of the xbox junk that I have meticulously uninstalled or disabled on my system.
Great game the Dev even keeps up on how the game is doing and its sad how rare that is
I got the game for $4 and its almost worthy it... enough said.
I am not sure if it adds anything.
Sorry if I am missing anything.
A good space strategy game with rts battles. Has two factions you can playthough as and many different ships and customization options for your mothership, and Interesting abilities on a few of the ships. One i particularily enjoy is the tractor beam which can either repel and attract enemy ships you can use these ships to either keep ships out of your range or to attract them to your broadside frigates, a really nice game mechanic and add strategic depth to the space combat. That's not all there though are many other ships but i dont want to spoil them for you :)
However my favorite thing in the game is the easy fleet formation. There is a wonderfull hotkey that allows you to draw a formation for the selected ships to form the excact formatino you just drew so its very easy to create simple wedge or half circle formations for your fleets to move in. If you dont like your formation or encounter a new obstacle then simply draw a new formation its so elegant, simple, and yet adds so much depth because the formations really do matter for keeping your ships in range and firing on whatever they counter.
One thing to note is the tutorial is very nice and explains the game well, which sadly is not always the case in strategy games so the tutorial here is a very nice touch.
Main thing holding game back from being more popular is graphics so if like me you prefer gameplay this one is definelty for you and worth the price.
I will say that many other negative reviews of the game come from early access, i just bought the game recently and there have been several patches to fix the bugs ( i didn't encounter any bugs in my time playing the game)
Overall definetaly worth the price!
Waste of money even at $4 on sale. Missions don't give enough information at the start to allow you to know if you want (or even can) complete them. E.g. I accepted a gladiator challenge, and only after that found I don't have the ships needed. Instant fail. Or enemy suddenly produces a mega-weapon and wipes me out even though he is outnumbered 3-1. When your flagship dies it is game over, so rinse and repeat ... except the map is different every time so you can never learn from your mistakes.
Note that no-one who has reviewed this game in the last 3 years has even played 10h - that should give you a warning...
The game has a lot of interesting ideas, particularly how you build modules on your production ships as an analogue to how you build bases in ground-based RTS games. It does need some polish, particularly with how units react to movement (quite a bit of dancing and it feels like there's not a lot of weight to them - but then again it IS set in space); more feedback on things like when you can place a new module on a ship would be good; and the anime portraits could use another pass. Additionally, as hard as it is to implement, it really feels like this game needs multiplayer in order to truly shine.
Sorta fun i guess? The UI is really weird and stupid sometimes. Also i have zero clue how the hell this is ever in any shape or form going to be a balanced game. It has multiple gamemodes though so thats a plus. But they are all a bit lackluster. Defenitly needs more development.
Its exactly as described :)
The graphics code is janky, and the introduction starts with lots of walls of text about random rules, but that's not really what makes this game bad.
The main problem with this game is that it's mainly about fighting battles, but the benefits you can get by managing your fleet well instead of just massing them all together and sending them head-on at whatever enemies you encounter are minor at best.

Like it
As with the other reviewer, I recommend you give it a shot.
Pro: Game does the RTS strategy well and in my OP the visuals are well done.
Con: I don't know if the game is going to offer anything not aleady done numerious times before.
I recently came back to the game after not playing for a long time and I must say its comming along nicely. Much better than when I last played. Now I'll shelve it until its released.
NOTE: 95% of my play time is off line.
Buy or not: Buy or at the VERY least give the demo a shot.
Pro:
persistence - your fleet follows you in the campaign, keeping your forces alive allows you to use them in later battles.
boss fights - you get to fight boss space ships, which are pretty fun but needs a little more work
controls - awsd was not in the game however the dev quicky fixed this.
cons: feels a bit light on content
