details and missions are great
Might be my all time favorite RTS
Just a Classic RTS. Its not starcraft or anything, but its nice.
Awesome game

"Cringe": The feeling you experience when you witness acting in C&C 3 cinematics.
TL;DR:
It’s like EA knew exactly how to trigger our C&C nostalgia and ran with it. Classic formula? Check. Explosions? Oh, yeah. Innovations? Not so much. It’s fun, but don’t expect fireworks beyond the battlefield.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars – A Real Razor Review
Back to the Roots—For Better or Worse
Command & Conquer 3 is like meeting an old friend who still wears the same clothes they rocked in the '90s. Sure, you love them for it, but deep down, you kind of wish they’d updated their wardrobe just a little. This game doesn’t reinvent the RTS wheel, but it polishes it to a shine, wraps it in nostalgia, and throws in a few explosions for good measure.
GDI and Nod are still at it, now joined by the alien Scrin faction. Each side has its quirks: GDI hits like a tank (literally), Nod hides in the shadows, and the Scrin are your classic weird alien invaders. They’re all different enough to keep things interesting—until you hit late game and Mammoth Tanks or Tripods show up and trivialize everything. Who needs strategy when you have a death ball?
Campaigns: The Good, the Nod, and the Ugly
The campaigns? Fun, if predictable. You’ll march through base defenses, destruction missions, and the occasional stealth operation (because Nod insists on being edgy). There’s a lot to love here, like the cheesy live-action cutscenes featuring Michael Ironside and Billy Dee Williams. It’s campy, silly, and everything we missed about the Tiberium series.
GDI and Nod get lengthy campaigns, while the Scrin are relegated to a brief bonus four-mission postscript. It’s like showing up to a buffet and finding out dessert is a single, lonely slice of pie. The missions are fun, sure, but they’re also a little by-the-numbers. Base, tiberium, units, attack, repeat. It’s comforting, like eating the same meal every night—it’s good, but you might get tired of it eventually.
Fast and Furious—But Not Very Smart
C&C has always been about speed, and Tiberium Wars keeps that tradition alive. Matches are quick, intense, and reward aggression. Sitting back to turtle is a great way to lose fast, especially against the hard AI. But while the pace is exhilarating, the mechanics show their age.
The late game balance is a mess. Mammoth Tanks are basically one-unit armies, and Nod gets the short end of the tiberium stick. Let’s just say that late-game Nod players learn the true meaning of despair.
The AI? Let’s just say they’ve been eating the same donuts since Tiberian Dawn. They’ll spam units at you like it’s 1995, with no sense of strategy or finesse. Pathfinding remains as questionable as ever. Watching units get stuck on rocks is the kind of comedy you don’t pay extra for, but it’s also a reminder that some things never change—like C&C’s refusal to evolve.
Explosions, Lasers, and Tiberium, Oh My!
What C&C lacks in innovation, it makes up for in style. Tiberium Wars is gorgeous, with battles that feel like a sci-fi fireworks show. Explosions light up the battlefield, lasers scorch the air, and the sheer chaos of two massive armies colliding is a sight to behold. Infantry models finally look decent (Generals, we’re looking at you), and buildings collapse with all the drama of a Hollywood blockbuster.
Even the sound design is on point. The unit acknowledgments, the sci-fi zap of a Tripod laser, the rumble of a Mammoth Tank—it all hits just right. Pair it with a fast load time, and you’re ready to blow stuff up without delay.
Multiplayer and Skirmish: Old-School Mayhem
Multiplayer is fast and chaotic, perfect for RTS veterans who thrive on high-speed strategy.
For solo players, the AI offers a decent challenge—on hard difficulty, at least. Brutal AI cheats with extra resources, but even then, it’s nothing a few Mammoth Tanks can’t solve. Skirmish remains a reliable fallback, offering hours of entertainment with just enough variety to keep things interesting.
Conclusion: Nostalgia with a Side of Tiberium
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars doesn’t try to rewrite the RTS playbook, and honestly, that’s fine. It’s fast, fun, and oozing with nostalgia. Sure, the late-game balance is a mess, the AI is as dense as ever, and once the big units hit the field, everything else might as well be wallpaper. But despite its flaws, Tiberium Wars captures the chaotic charm that made C&C a household name.
Score: 8/10
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a blast from the past in all the best ways. If you’re a fan of old-school RTS games or just want to see what C&C is all about, this one’s worth your time—even if it doesn’t reinvent the tiberium wheel.
Brings back memories
Still holds up as a fun RTS in 2024
this was one of my favorite games of war...... brings back long lost memories!!!!!
New Construction Options.
I love C&C. Always have. Story is okey as usual. Visuals are great. But I have a massive problem with the in-game AI. The units are so goddamn incompetent. They will run all over the place and run in circles just to move a few feet. They will run right in front of an enemy just to shoot. It is so goddamn stupid. Generals had better pathfinding than this, and it makes it so frustrating. If you can deal with that shit, then the game is at least decent. But I've had to take breaks just because I got screwed by these little on-screen morons.
IN THE NAME OF KANE. PEACE THROUGH POWER!
The pinnacle of command and conquer in my opinion, just above Tiberian Sun. Brilliant game and even better in 2024 on a 50" 4k screen. Graphics are fantastic for 2007 and game play spot on as usual
TLDR: Classic C&C IP meets the Generals engine with mixed results.
Pros:
- It's a modernized version of the original C&C games
- Fun base building
- Great cutscenes and acting
Cons:
- Less of a focus on base building
- Too many missions give you only units
- Not as strategic or fun as Generals Zero Hour...battles are paced more slowly and are more about spamming units
Great old game :)
Great for enhancing command and conquer skills
Tested working on Steam Deck (Arch Linux) online multiplayer.
(just need some work getting it to work!)
nice
awesome game hours of pure enjoyment
The best RTS of all time
good memories playing this
This is where it started to feel like something is terribly wrong with the series and the EA. It's a boring and bad game with lame story (compared to C&C or Tiberian Sun). We should have known it is the beginning of a terrible downfall :(
Still better than most games coming out today.
Took what I loved about Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Sun Firestorm and made it better.

method 2 (no need to change proton compatibility version)
Summary:
1. Install protontricks (via Discovery or pacman or apt)
2. Run game at least once so that the pfx folder is created so protontricks can see it
2.1 When you run protontricks GUI it will ask you which game prefix to use (virtual environment)
3. (proton/winetricks) WineCfg, emulate/enable Virtual Desktop (1280x720 will suffice)
3.1 If using EAapp/Lutris, you will need to temporary switch to a non proton-GE WINE (ie. lutris-7.2.2) in order to enable Virtual Desktop (ie. Virtual Desktop broken in proton-GE WINE)
4. (proton/winetricks) Install DLL/components: vcrun2005,2008,2010,2012,2013,2019
4.1 vcrun2019 may have CRC checksum warnings, just ignore and accept
5. Ask in C&C Online discord ( https://discord.gg/7Yp3HXg ) for revora.zip file which contains the enabler.exe fixes)
6. (proton/winetricks) Windows Explorer, run the TWEnabler.exe for the corresponding game (Tiberian Wars)
7. Disable Virtual Desktop
7.1 If using EAapp/Lutris, switch back to proton-GE WINE (ie. default wine-ge-8-26)
8. Load up game. Login using the C&C Online credentials of the account you created from C&C Online!
8.1 For reminder of login see My Account in C&C Online website (ie. TW/KW uses non-email address, whilst RA3/GEN uses email address login)
amazing classic game everyone should play
Great RTS game that came on 2007. I play it as a child and still feeling great playing in 17 years later. Definitely one of the best classic RTS games.
It is an old game that I wanted to play when I was a child, at that time the specs that could play this game were expensive. A computer that can be played without jerking is considered very cool.
Great strategy game and I love to make all the primary units veterans, taking my time and trying not to use many units.
Not played it before but been a huge fan of the C&C series since the start. Like pulling on a old jumper. Familiar. Comfy. But still a bit different. If you are looking for something totally original then this may not be for you.
Still an awesome game years later.
Love strategy games and this one is definitely right up my alley A+
Probably my favorite after Aftermath. Endless sandboxy battles to challenge yourself with galore.
Still one of the great classics...
Classic RTS. Great interactive movie also!
It's a C&C, so of course I recommend.
PS: C&C4 doesn't exist.
this is my childhood game, finally got it on steam
buy it, play it, worship it
PEACE THROUGH POWER
good game
this game has many different mods. and even though it was made by EA, you can find mods that keep the westwood style alive for this game. Even in 2024, this game is still tons of fun. I wish there were still players playing online. but if you grab a mod and map pack this game is still tons of fun.
I don't remember this game being as glitchy when it came out in comparison to current state. For example, GDI Albania mission - if you capture primary objective with last engineer => automatic defeat. You destroyed a building (on the way to said objective) which becomes primary objective later? You cannot win the mission. And campaign difficulty due to current patch surely doesn't help.
Kane lives! The oppressors must die! Down with GDI! Hold your weapons high! Rise up!
It's Command and Conquer...
very fond memories playing this game,
In the Name of Kane! Kane Lives in Death!
The last worthwhile Command and Conquer game. As far as I'm concerned the travesty that is C&C 4 never happened. It must be erased from living memory.
Tiberium Wars shall live on as the last hurrah of one of gaming's most hallowed franchises. You will be sorely missed.
Ive always had a soft spot for this game, being my first ever game on my grandpas computer it brings me back to simpler times. 100% recommend
At the height of the C&C era we had this and Kane's Wrath. It feels as a natural evolution of C&C Generals just with all the live Action Cutscenes you'd expect from a mainline C&C game.
This time you have 3 campaigns and the 3rd one is unlocked after completing the first two. The story is your standard crazy Sci-Fi we love from the insanity that is the C&C universe. Quite a lot of missions here and good actors with varying performances.
The soundtrack is, as always, a banger and the units voice lines are just as insane or even better than they were before.
The gameplay is fast and hectic. It somehow feels even faster than any C&C game to date for me. A lot of stuff is happening and you have a lot of both micro and macro to manage here. Armies are built fast and destroyed even faster. Quite a staple in the RTS genre.
My only downside is that it is difficult to locate units at times depending on the buildings surrounding them. And you would like to undo the patch that the game has integrated due to balancing multiplayer. Why? Because it made the campaign a lot harder to manage.
So i do recommend this game as any other RTS fan would.
fun game
REMINDS ME THE OLD GOOD TIME. TIBERIUM WARS IS A GOOD ONE AMONG C&C SERIES.
Last gem of the series
