does not support meta quest 3
So, this game is actually more fun that i imagined. Also more stuff that are locked or you need to find (the 12" Shell for example).
I love fireworks, so i play this game in vr instead of irl so i dont get any annoying karens.
This game really is for fireworks lovers, dont buy this if you dont.
NOTE:
This game is sadly not getting any updates soon, no updates since 2017. BUT I DO recommend it, even with no updates. €9 is not something to cry about, i already have 2 hours of play time, thinking it was only like 1 hour. more fun that expected!
Rating: 8/10
The game promised back in 2021 further development and also it wasnt even in Alpha. Its an unreleased game. I bought it to support them so they could work and I could follow the development. On startup of the game it says carreer mode only available in Alpha. I waited for a long period of time for them to finally make the game. This game is so bad. Nothing to play. It looks like a testserver for developers. After exactly 2 years here I am really sad about their progress. Litterly nothing. I dont think its right to release a simple game, unreleased and say they will make new things but discontinued the game without even saying it. The game in this state isn't even worth the 9 euro's. It should be free because it isn't even a game.
this games quality and controls need some serious updates b4 its ready. this should be and alpha at best sadly i forgot it was still on my account and did not request a refund in time
i have a i7 and a rtx 3050 ti and it still crashes
This game is ok. The thing i have to say is that the hand mechanics are weird and I seemed to get bored after about 10 minutes of playtime.
Devs abandoned this game a long time ago. It doesn't even deserve to be for sale. Typical abuse of the early access system.
I'll change this if things change, but for now, progress is just too slow. This has extreme potential, but it seems like the dev might not be serious about it. Great for a quick sandbox experience, but it'll take you about 20 minutes to be completely done with it. I put my friends and family in here, same thing.
Development has ceased, get it only if it's 90% off. Otherwise not worth it.
Pyro VR is what convinced me to make the journey into VR. It's a literal hands-on room-scale fireworks simulation. Awesome sandbox environment featuring consumer-grade and professional-grade fireworks shells, cakes, rockets, mortars, etc. As I write this, it's at version 0.3, still unfinished, without career mode. But it's DEFINITELY worth buying still - very immersive. I prefer the free-for-all mode which allows me to fire off whatever as I please - no stress. Can even fuse up a bunch of fireworks together to make a show. Or just blow everything up :)
As an avid fireworks fan having spent thousands of dollars on fireworks and throwing down backyard shows, I appreciate what this brings to the table. A great value with infinite replayability. All that's missing is the gunpowder smell.
Hopefully the devs will continue adding to the app. Would be great to have some whistling Saturn missiles and rockets, as well as fountains and more multi-effect cakes.
THANK YOU - 5 STARS
*I have played more of this game then the .1 my account says but it did not track for some reason.
All I am going to say, this game has been out a year without a update. In early access, Don't be tricked.
Not bad for starters. Some suggestions to the developer:
1) Movement for something like this should be kept to a minimum. Setting things up requires way too much movement. Provide a menu and let us spawn the things we want instead of roaming around trying to find fireworks. It gets too frustrating and doesnt add anything to the experience
2) Once a design has been set up (and saved), lets add some music!
3) Provide some kind of spectator system so that you can instantly go off a distance and watch the show. Too much looking straight up.
Creating a fireworks display (especially to music) in of itself is a terrific concept. Focus on that, and less on the pointless mechanics that just get tiresome. Hoping to see this evolve more. Good luck! I recommend it because the dev has the foundation for a great product.
Worth about $0.99 currently -
Pros:
you can die and get a safety lecture
Cons:
no lighter, matches or electronic igniters
firework sparks, flares and explosions all look flat and amateur
objects falls through the floor (light a firework, throw it and don't watch it go off as it's no longer in this realm)
random proximity explosions (mortars set off everything near when they launch, that's not how fire works)
This is not the firework game you are looking for.
As a former child pyro, this is beyond awesome. It's been a few months since I've played a new VR game more than once!
It's still early, there's some framerate issues in the garage, and it's near impossible to pick up things off the ground due to the real ground being higher than in-game (yes, i'm calibrated correct), but this is a very promising start.
1) Fix floor
2) Get rid of bird
3) More environments!
4) There'a an issue where if you open a box, you can't move it anywhere without the fireworks falling out. You have to take the box where you want to go first. Small issue, but annoying.
If this game eventually gives me the ability to play a career mode where I put on shows in different situations (along the beach at a wedding celebration, behind the stage at a music festival, with a final level on a large bridge during the 4th of July) I'll happily pay you $60 and sign up for whatever DLC crap you want me to!
Too early to recommend this for the current price. Runs smooth and graphics are decent but after about 10 minutes I was pretty much done with it. If you absolutely love fireworks then go for it but for someone with just a casual interest I would wait until alot more content is added. Personally I had just about as much fun playing with the fireworks in H3VR.
I had fun with this one. I used to love messing with fireworks (irresponsibly) when I was a kid with friends. This game reminded me of those days. The sandbox mode is where the game shines, as there is no career mode yet. You have pretty much an unlimited amount of fireworks to play with and even blow stuff up with. The fireworks look very much like the ones you buy at firework stands for the 4th of July and even have descriptions of what they do if you read the box. You can also die if you don't stand back, which I really like because it helps the realism knowing that they're a threat if you do dumb stuff with them. :)

Here is my first time gameplay video: https://youtu.be/HP7lgXoqof0
I wasn't sure what to expect out of this game but I ended up having a lot of fun playing it. It needs work like more types / colors of fireworks and some graphic improvements but I ended up playing around in it for a lot longer than I had planned (spent almost an hour setting up a fireworks show.) Also, there is a bird that keeps making noise which I told to stop otherwise I would fire a rocket up it's ass; it hasn't stopped and I can't find it to carry out my threat. I later told the bird it was brave after continuing to stick around and make noise even after the threat and the sound of all the fireworks going off. Also, in an attempt to increase the immersion of a drunk person playing with fireworks I let a firecracker explode in my hand. When it did the screen turned red but that was it; I didn't lose any fingers as I had hoped. I'm going to be honest and say I was a bit dissapointed with that but understand since it's probably not a super critical game mechanic you'd focus on during development of the early access game.
Also a save feature would be hadny. This would be really nice especially while spenting large amounts of time creating bigger displays; I can imagine the frusteration after all that hard work losing everything after it going off accidently or from a game crash or something.
FIREWORKS IN VR ARE INCREDIBLE! :D I'm keeping this game in my library and hope to see new cooler stuffs coming out! :D
A bit bare at the moment, but that's to be expected. If you love to play with fireworks then this is a great game to play around with. They're definitely on the right track to making an awesome Sandbox game, can't wait to see what they add in the future!
I've got 20 years in the fireworks industry, they got a lot right with this. The game is a very early build, the controls are a bit wonky, but they're on the right track. Regardless, it's fun to play around with and $10 well spent.
Funny approach and so far so good! i'm keen to know what futre updates will bring.
I really, really like it. Attaching one fuse after another works well but it can take some time to set up a complex show. Now with the addition of being able to save and load your setup and the new fireworks it's much better. Other than that very nice graphics, great sandbox and the best fireworks experince out there. Very helpful developers. The only issue I have now is that cake fireworks seem to misfire a little too easily. If there even within a foot of each other or any object they can start shooting erratically. If that gets better it'll be all good. I love Pyro VR.
So i only took a quick look at the Game, but it was fun. You can be creative and set up your own firework show.
There are already a lot of Fireworks you can experiment with.
This is what VR needs: Fun and creative Games.
So if youre a creative Person and like fireworks get this Game.
This is just my first impression. When i play the Game a bit more ill edit this Review.
