2 monkeys together would have done a better game in 20 minutes
5/10
Apparently there are computers in Sri Lanka! Who knew???
I state this not to be facetious, but simply more for the reason that we rarely see game products from any other nation than Russia. It's seriously like the whole nation of Russia is one big network of bad developers. Babies in Russia are first bred. Then ordered to walk. Then given Unity on their 1st birthday. Then learnt how to torture others. Sri Lanka on the other hand, whoever hears of Sri Lankan games? This has to be something special right? https://twitter.com/cleverweek (his website was taken down)
I use to live next to some Sri Lankan's. I like them. I like their culture. First thing that surprised me is that they don't have a word for hello in their language. Instead they greet people with 'Ayubowan' which basically means 'Live long and prosper' and while it might sound as if the whole nation of Sri Lanka are Star Trek geeks, their greeting is basically wrapped up in their Buddhist beliefs that we are stuck in some sort of reincarnation loop of suffering, suffering and more suffering. Personally, thanks to this 99% Russia 1% Sri Lanka ratio currently on Steam I'm starting to believe that.
The goal of a Buddhist is to keep improving their life until their granted Nirvana (nonexistence) that way they can't be tortured by anymore bad Russian steam games. Wow. Sounds heavenly. Unfortunately if your imperfect like me and make mistakes, then their beliefs will condemn you to an eternal loop of badly designed Russian Steam games forever.
Sorry for getting all manic depressive on you. You probably just wanted to know about 'Permute' and didn't want to know about all this gloom and doom. Problem is, in all honesty 'Permute' is not really much better than a Russian Steam game. It's a Unity asset dependant, 10 level platformer with one soundtrack. The objective is to quickly bounce around to the last block of each track, completing that track. While there is a speed timer, the leader boards don't work and there really isn't any extra reason to do so.
Each track is basically the same, there are two types of blocks. Yellow which are stagnant and don't move and pink blocks which will move to another position when you click the mouse button to jump. Hence the trick sometimes is to hit the mouse button a second time while you’re in the air so that you can again reposition the pink block underneath you for landing. Wow how thrilling. And that's pretty much it. No variation. Once you have done the first track then you have literally done them all. The whole ten tracks should take you no longer than 20 minutes for 10 easy pointless achievements.
In final, its cheap when on sale (50 cents) and it works. But given its skeletal content in comparison to other great platformers https://store.steampowered.com/app/284460/ coupled with the fact that it is usually $2.00 seems unreasonable. In all honesty, the only thing that this bare frame work game did, with its so called relaxing music that loops and makes you suffer, suffer, and more suffer, was make me really long for Nirvana (nonexistence).
Could have been a LOT better.
Full game by someone else…

decent game if you know how to use the controls. (w, a ,s d + sprint {run})
Despite the negative reviews, I actually enjoyed this game.
The game is very short and once you got the hang of the controls you can speed run it in just 5 minutes, but the game concept is pretty good. I would like to see a more polished up sequel to this with more content.
ew no
This game isn't that bad, however, the camera / mouse movement SUCKS !!
At one point I was stuck because I could not look in front of me. I just couldnt because the mouse was stuck and would only move a small degree.
If it wasnt for the frustrating mouse movement, I would have given this game a chance.
Now it's just money wasted.
I flipped a coin on whether or not to make this purchase for a misely 50 pence, got 10 minutes of frustration and closed it down. It now crashes and refuses to open, prehaps it's actually for the best.
Short, but fun platformer.
A really nice little game. it looks good and the music is fantastic. i would say the biggest problem with it is how short it is and the lack of new stuff (after you've played level 1 you played them all).
i give it a thumbs up because of how nice it feels to play, but it could use some updates.

EDITED (See bottom)
Permute is a wonderful idea. I saw it on Greenlight last week and saw that it just came out. I was excited to see what it was all about. However. It needs a lot of work still.
There are no menus, no adjusting anything, nor being able to exit the game naturally (as fas as I could find).
There are some blocks that are just too far away. It may just be me, or my inability to play, but I feel like several of the blocks are unreachable. Which is hard, considering the only way to beat the level is to cross to them.
I want to like this game, I really do, which is why I am recomending this game. But I believe a few things need to be changed.
I may be wrong and I am totally willing to accept it.
EDIT: Shift lets you run which can help make larger gaps, but it is still very difficult with the cursor showing on screen and the high sensitivity.
Thanks for reading.
