I don't build nothing i be using the community creations to do the rescue missions and stuff, still a helluva fun time.

its a really good sandbox, Roleplay, general fun kinda game. you can do anything you pretyy much want

A little laggy in multiplayer but increably fun.

This game is worth getting if you are into complex creativity. The learning curve is a bit hard but with inspiration and dedication, you can figure it out like I did.

This game is very good in my opinion. This is a game for builders that are looking for a realistic build that function, or people just wanting to check out our community in the workshop. However, there are some drawbacks. This game has 3 dlcs so not all of the elements are usable in the base game. It also limits the amount of creations you can get because they can require dlc. Now the important part, the 1.9 fluids and gases update. This update changed alot of the creations on the workshop. Planes require air pressure in the cabins now and ships now struggle to sink. Alot of older creations are broken. I do still recommend this game as these problems can be worked around. If your looking for tutorials Mrnjersey and 454ssstormworks are good options (sorry if I spelled their names wrong)

Base mechanics are prototype stage, no actual navigation is available, it's too hard to navigate, but playing with friends is ridiculously fun.

my game begins to slow down after i spawn like a few too many vehicles

To be Honest, this game at first seemed trash and dry, cause I though the rescue boat you got is the only free one. It turned out you can get plenty of them free from the workshop, where it takes 1-2min to download and receive, do not buy the 25bucks one cause if you start new you will not need anything for it.
Play with friends? Yes, for sure. Check it on youtube by neo something and you'll see how fun the game is. i'll have to say you'll need some min to know how to start engines etc, where I sometimes fail to start them and move. But I'm sure there's a way. I've tried the ships and a few with helis. only managed to fly it once and crashed due to air speed etc.

it scared me so bad cause i dont know what im doing and i was driving a giant boat and i saw a tsunami and my biggest fear is deep water and when i saw the tsunami i was like: uh is that a island? OH NO ITS A TSUNAMI
but this is 1 of the funnest games i have and i love it

awesome game as you can do so many things as playing carrier mode custom and you can spawn so many cool things

Beautiful Game. There is a lot to do in many different industries. You can rescue, oil drill, transport, fish, and probably more.

The only issue I have with this game is the amount of time you have to put into a vehicle to get it to be in a 'finished' state. It takes a WHILE to build. Even after probably 40+ hours of building, I'm not used to the block rotation. The block rotation is kind of a press and pray style where you mash the buttons until you find the rotation you want. This is even worse with the glass windows with unique angles (no joke, spent around 3-4 minutes trying to rotate a single window block into position). By default, it uses keys J, K, and L to rotate which puts it across the entire keyboard and it feels like it gives you less control than other building mechanisms.

If the devs ever end up reading this, PLEASE implement options for users. I would love to see a similar rotation mechanism to From The Depths, where you hold tab and use wasd + qe, which is able to be toggled in the settings. Reaching across the keyboard just kills the flow and enhances my carpal tunnel.

Got this game a few weeks ago as i have been yearning for it for years until i finally got a pc and steam for Christmas. It is very fun to mess with the creations i saw youtubers use!

The only dislike i have is the performance optimization.

I would love to recommend this But I'm not going to reckon in this. It has two many DLC It's understandable why search and destroy was a DLC. However, the other two DLC don't make sense. They don't add enough content, they'll gate keep some things that are shockingly stupid. even though it has horrible updating structure. Poor management by QA. multiple times where they have said, oh yeah, we'll add this feature never have or take two years. ever since this left early access, it's been a up hill battle that they will never win if they keep going the way they are I would love to recommend this game, but if they decided to give. industrial frontier DLC and Space DLC for free, I would reconsider but current **** no.

to truly experience stormworks, always set your weather override to maximum during SaR missions and turn some music that will go hard.
stormworks its a game about large ships being performance killers so you wull be unable to even look at them normally,its a game about random ass tsunami hitting everything it can after you spend time getting to position, setting the gear and getting control of situation,its a game about endless workshop builds being the sweet spot of the game,i literally wasted countless hours checking out lots of builds without even using them in missions.
if you like mixed SaR type of games, emergency services and almost non limited build simulator this game should fit you, you wont find any counterpart where you can be in the cold and endless sea as a rescue personnel fighting fire onboard of the big tanker and trying to not fail the task like your life depends on it

at points it can be enjoyable but if ur trying to use a vehicle of any kind it must be very shitty to use

This game is just awesome. If you want to make good memories with your friends and/or family, this is the game for you

The game feels like an unfinished mod.
The building is fun, and may be worth your while and money if you are into such games.
But once your creation is built, you will quickly run into issues playing the game with them.
It's like the game fights you all the way, and you will find enjoyment in spite of that.

There are many issues that feels like they would be so easy to fix, yet are not fixed.
Among these are missing parts like windows (I'm looking at you 4x1 window), missing the ability to use more than 1 symmetry axis, missing map information ect.

You can find containers with a destination and a timer on them. But you may not know where that destination is. And it can be really hard to find out, as place names are not shown on the huge map. Even the wiki failed me on this.

I recently build a train to have some fun with, but quickly realised that there are not really any destinations worth going to, and the rail network is really lacklustre.

It's frustrating to watch old videos with creators airing simple ideas that would have been great implementations, and not seeing anything like it years later.

I'll give it a mixed score with a negative lean. It contains a lot of fun, but it's going to be very frustrating.

Very good programming and system designing. Everything else the game "From the Depths" does better

I love experimenting with designs in custom mode - nice balance of complexity, realistic physics and simplicity - for those of us that wish we'd studied engineering, it's great fun and you learn more than you realised you didn't know. Quirks in physics and the interface trip this up a little, but it's pretty close to the right balance.

I recently bought a DLC for the game and was hoping to play with it but I then discovered that the game was broken. It really sucks because I love this game with all my heart and would like to play for so much longer but sadly this game doesn't get the time it deserves from the studio. I don't feel that we should blame the devs because it seems to me they are under staffed and over worked. So please don't buy this game at the moment it just doesn't have the support to keep it a stable game and will break every other update.

I love this game i really do that's why i recommend this but recently the games sound has stopped i have tried all the guides out there and nothing works please fix this.

Stormworks is a very fun game. It takes a while to learn, but it is overall really good. The building mechanic is very complicated, but that is good because it means you can build that one car that you couldn't build in another game because there wasn't a part for it!

Stormworks has been one of my favorite games to play for the last couple of years, and I have played it before it was even fully released. However with the introduction of the Space DLC, the naval part of the game has become almost entirely unplayable. The way gas works now makes it so that ships don't really sink, even if there is a large hole in the hull. The atmospheric pressure will also kill you for seemingly no reason, while being on earth in something like an engine room. I think it has to do with the gas compressing as the water displaces it. This makes no sense, and while building is largely unaffected, playing the game with your creations is pretty pointless now. I'm not even sure why space was added to this game, I get that some people like it but it has no place in a game about SAR and ship/heli/plane building. I would be completely fine if the DLC was optional, but even if you do not buy it (which I haven't), the core game engine uses the stupid pressure system and makes anything but flying and driving cars/trains pretty un-fun. Even some of the flight physics seem to be broken now, but I am a naval main and have limited experience building aircraft. I have other smaller complaints about this game too, but could easily overlook these because building and sinking ships was so much fun. Now you can only build, sinking no longer works, even with a gas release system. I wish the devs would listen to the community and revert how water and gas interacts, as I know I am not the only one who hates this update. I still love Stormworks but sadly will probably not be continuing to play the game in its current state. Maybe I'll play on an older version but will likely just step away entirely unless something changes. The game is frustrating enough when everything does work how it should, but it becomes a living hell when you spend 100 hours building something that doesn't even adhere to physics.

The learning curve is steep, make sure to watch some YouTube experts for tutorials, build advice, and use case scenarios.

so ive never really made anything but most things ive used so far are broken because of new updates its not like people playground where your build might be broken because of an update and its easy to fix and cheap
but this game is costly pretty bad performice and the amount of updates that will brake your build is emice also it gets updated like evey mounth so go spend your money on something else just because comdo gameing plays it doesnt mean you should too.

Its fun and very intressting for singleplayer, Multiplayer is a mess, alot of stuff tend to lag alot Desycn ect.

This game is very versatile. It's one of the only games with such mechanics and you can do anything: Sandbox, Multiplayer, Survival, Building, etc.

If engineering and scripting is not your strong suit in building, this is probably not the game for you. I have played this game off and on for awhile and am always extremely disappointed to hop back into the workshop to see another update has rendered a lot peoples hard work and countless hours spent building awesome creations.....UTTERLY USELESS AND BROKEN. The workshop is chalk full of unplayable creations due to updates changing mechanics and physics and it is truly a sad sight to see. Be prepared for your creations to likely be unplayable 6 months down the road with tedious diagnosis and changes to make them playable again. My recommendation is to save your money and move along as the core game play outside of building leaves a lot to be desired.

If you do not have a masters at mechanic's you cant build.The game has potential,i think it needs to be easier to build. For example i was building a submarine and i was moving on to the engine and i did not know what to do and i looked a tutorials and none of them helped. If you know mechanic's i would recommend this,if not learn or play Tail Makers. It's easier but not as fun,because Trail Makers does not have Natural Disasters or Sea Monsters that attack you.

Now the developers focus on developing useless DLCs which break half of the vehicles and lock the other half behind a paywall, instead of improving the game engine, tracked and wheeled vehicles are practically useless due to super poor handling by the physics simulation, the map is mostly empty and after almost 5 years since release, there is still not even a basic story besides endless repeating quests. Also prepare to get your entire ship eaten by some unexplained kraken that spawns right behind your ass.

This game has potential, if only the devs cared about optimizing it and fixing the bugs.

The devs are ignoring massive issues with the rope physics and they are currently almost unusable.
Any time someone reports the bugs with the rope they close the issue pretending they cant replicate the issue or mark the post as a duplicate of a post they had previously closed.

OH.. MY.. GOD!
This game is such an amazing piece of engineering artword. I love every single aspect of it. I mean, it is not for everybody I can imagine. However if you are creative soul like me, you'll gonna spend maaaany hours in it. I've barely started and have like 25+ hours in it. I don't know how. It feels like playing for 2 hours. There's barely some limitations on what you can do in this game. Something does not work as you wished? Make it work! Something is working too much? Make it less work. It's about little details that gets me engaged a lot in this game. Definetly reccomend!

Good game, cool wave physics-

Stormworks is pretty fun- the weapons DLC greatly expands the game. The flight physics are good and I enjoy playing in my free time.

Very Fun i just played it for 5.8 hours already and i just got it very nice to explore and look at some Mods its very nice



Not really into the build part yet but i might get in to it, Boats are the best i don't really like the planes and trains, and i have not tried a land car yet.

I bought this to find an alternative "vehicle-builder/adventure" combo game to From The Depths. And jesus, within the 45-ish minutes I played, I already don't want to experience any more of it.

-The world design is........just so damn bland and low-effort. I'm not saying it's gotta look fantastic or it has to be some UE5-level shit here, but come on, you can't even argue that it's the "art-style" or that it's "for performance" when it's just that low-poly. The overall art style is bland, uninteresting, boring, which ironically brings me to my next point.

-It matches the "gameplay". Did the first couple missions, and was wholly unimpressed. Not to mention whoever designed the starting boat, apparently has never driven a boat before. Takes like a solid 15 seconds to move the throttle from 0-100 and get it to go anywhere in either direction, which makes the first couple missions agonizing. Brother, just slam the fucking throttle, it's a boat, it won't be instant acceleration but you can still move the goddamn throttle faster than a Slow Loris.

-The vehicle designer is.....unintuitive. Most designers I've seen creation-based games, like Crossout, Robotech, From The Depths, etc; if you need to rotate blocks along the axis, you use a "modifier" key. For example, Tab or Control or Alt. You hold that key, and then continue using the normal WASD keys. Then when you want to move the block laterally/horizontal/vertical like normal, just let go of that Modifier key.
What do these clowns do? They introduce a whole set of three new keys, I J and K for you to press. Why? I've got at least a few thousand hours in builder games and not ONCE have I seen any of them use a non-Modifier key setup, and especially not a key combo like *that*. Who in their right mind chose that?

I'll be getting a refund thankfully, but I can't in good faith recommend this to anyone. This "game" screams to me that they spent more time designing the UI elements and their logo than the actual game.

Very fun, endless opportunities - you can work as a coastguard, fly/sail around in your creations or even try survive in the Arctic. I remember watching youtubers play this game and was fascinated by how much content there was, and how much content can be added using mods. On the topic of mods, most of them are very well made, and have their own uniqueness: although there are some mods that just reupload the starter raft, so there should be a sort of way to prevent bad mods from being uploaded. Overall 10/10, could be better if you add a new update focused around Trading (Ship travelling, Plane cargo etc.)
