Об игре
Приключения ждут под землей...
SteamWorld Dig 2 -

As someone who played the original SteamWorld Dig and loved it, I came into this game with high hopes. Unfortunately, this game did not meet those expectations. The format has moved even further from its motherload roots and instead has gone further into metroidvania territory. Now, I like metroidvanias, but it's not what I play these types of games for.
SteamWorld Dig 2 - In short, a 2D minecrafter game that has a bunch of secrets to discover, abilities to unlock and a mystery to solve. You need to find your uncle all the while trying to appease random NPC's quests and selling rare minerals in order to purchase more upgrades.
Highly recommend this game if you like 2D platformers and mining games!
It's a really absorbing game. Like the first one, but a bit different and better. While similar to the first, it uses that to surprise me.
I got super addicted in the first few hours. Had fun until the very end. Well worth the price tag, go play it.
First one was just generally better. Don't buy this at full price, you'll regret it.
Lame + messes with my display settings after quitting the game, making everything really dim.
Good wholesome fun. Exploration, platforming, and a fun story. Will certainly try out other SteamWorld games.
Great game and great worldbuilding. Hoping for a 3rd game, but before that, time to go on a heist.
Fun chill game that can be challenging if you want. eay to learn, hard to master. Give it a try!
A near perfect game within its limitations. This sequal ads a lot of complexity and interesting twists on the puzzles, tons of different tools and upgrades, extremely satisfying digging and charming style overall. It's the perfect entry into the SteamWorld universe that never let us down.
I'm still planning to 100% this game on Steam Deck since it's worth the time. Runs perfect on bad hardware too.
This is fun little game that doesn't overstay its welcome. I loved the focused game loop in a world of games that are too big. If you liked the first one, this one will not let you down!
I've 100% it on Nintendo Switch so my hours here aren't reflective of my true time in the game. This is probably my favorite of all the steamworld games and that's saying something because I love all of the. One of the best metroidvanias to ever exist. I fully recommend this game it's amazing.
Cool continue of steamworld dig 1 ; I like storytelling here
It is what it says it is, and I respect that, but this flash-era stuff isn't really my taste anymore.
God.. Platformers, bane of my existence. I thought this game would be like the first one. It's not. Its more of an adventure puzzle platformer. Complete with the "Collect 40 [blank]" to encourage exploring every corner of the map and padding out playtime. I suppose it's good that they didn't just make another version of the last game, and the SteamWorld series is characterized by it's variety. Some of the dungeon trials require a fair amount of skill. Like, forget trying to play with keyboard, you're going to need those analog sticks.
I hate that enemies are able to destroy blocks so easily. Hey man, I came here for the digging and you're gonna let them take that from me. What makes it worse is the knowledge this game is NOT procedurally generated. The way that enemy broke that block before you could kill it, so now that ore is out of reach? Intentional game design. The way that boulder fell through half a dozen blocks of sand and crushed that gem? Intentional. Stuff can happen just off screen too. Had an enemy spawn next to some TNT, and boom.
I suppose its good then that is mining is actually optional. With the "Bounty hunter" early upgrade, killing mobs can give xp and gold. Like, I can spend 10 minutes trying to figure out how to clear out this section of the mine and walk away with 100 something gold, or I can farm the beetle in Burster's Mine for 5 mins and get 200 gold. Hell, technically most of the upgrades are optional as the game can be cleared with low level equipment as long as you get the main powers. This did fix the issue from the first game, where money was a limited resource and you could screw yourself by playing poorly.
Also: So much dialogue. I just wanna dig. This game is more narrative-driven, with a cohesive plot of "destroy 3 [blank] in order to find the macguffin". In the very least, it kept me playing the game since I wanted to know what happened to the protagonist from the first game.
But, I dunno, I played a lot of these kinds of games when I was younger. And some people love these types of games. And don't get me wrong, there are some decent platformers out there. For me, this isn't one of them.
5/10 it has some fun
I was not too sure what to expect when I bought this game (on sale), but I have to say, it's a very well put together little platformer that has nice visuals, good mechanics, and a well thought out game overall. A must buy even at regular price. This game got me interested enough in it, that I bought a few more from the same developer. A solid good time.
it was good I personally liked the first season more tho. try it
This one is a well-done sequel to the first game. In this game, you play as Dorothy who was an NPC in the first game looking for Rusty, and playing as her is the best part of the game. In this game, the upgrades you get are very useful and you don't have to worry about water supply since when you go near water the water never runs out making it more fair compared to the first game. You can get artifacts that get you upgrades for mods to make the game easier for you. I got the one where you can get more gems and ores to pick up since I got a lot of them in the game. Every time you level up you get bonus money that you sell from the robot in town to get more money. If you die you lose some of the items you picked from the mine and have to go back to town but you don't lose your money. This game has a Metroidvania vibe where to progress in the game you need certain upgrades to progress in the game. The jetpack is very useful since you can fly and you can get an upgrade that makes you use the jetpack for an unlimited amount of time making it op but costing a lot of money to use it. You get items from the first game like the pickaxe but there are new ones that are only exclusive to Dorothy. The Jetpack, grapple hook, grenade launcher, the gun that can blow up more or more If you use an upgrade, and other things. You can buy cogs but I find it useless since you're not gonna use every mod in the game. Some guides can help you find the artifacts which helped me a lot and you use them to do a challenge which I didn't do because of how hard it was. You can upgrade the amount of ore you carry, weapons, and items in the game. Every time you do the quest and kill enemies you get EXP to level up to increase the bonus you get by trading ore and better upgrades that require you to be a certain level to use it. Worth playing until it's on sale since I beat it in nearly 7 hours. I give this game a 9 out of 10. I hope my review makes you think twice about getting the game. Have a good day.
great music, fun game!
Great platformer and metroidvania. If you're unfamiliar with either genre, this is the perfect place to start. If you're familiar with either genre, don't be like me -- the cutesy theme doesn't mean there's not a great game under there.
Solid game. To hell and back achievement is a cool challenge and worth doing if you get that far.
Action platformer meets adventure, with a great protagonist, and a well crafted world.
Very fun and challenging!
I like the first game a bit more but this is still a good ass game and i got it for 16rp (like 1.10 usd)
Solid game and it does a great job of being a sequel but also conceivably standing on its own. I had a good time going through the levels, and knowing that there were ways to find the things that I missed really helped me keep moving forward without feeling grindy. I particularly enjoyed that you get to play the entire game with the same base goal, and even at the very end you stand by that goal. It also sets up for a third installment, which could be a lot of fun after seeing the improvements and different mechanics in this one.
One of the best, if not the best metroidvania I have ever had the pleasure to play and 100%.
The gameplay is amazing, from mining for ressources to level up your gear, to fighting enemies to level up your character and earn more money, to searching for treasure which will make world traversal easier and more fun, and so, so much more.
This may not be Hollow knight, but this game hooked me in whereas HK didn't, so if you like unorthodox metroidvanias, this one may just be the one to scratch that itch.
Horrible combat and mind numbing bosses. Final boss is an unfair slog
It's SteamWorld Dig, but more and better. Fun and challenging puzzles, great music & visuals.
What I wanted from Steam World Dig 2 is a digging game like the first. This is a puzzle game in the shape of a digging game.
The enemies are annoying. Your main attack and the bomb can only be triggered in contexts where you can dig rocks, which means jump attacks and the like are not possible. Your melee range is absurdly short, while enemies have both ranged attacks and contact damage especially in tight spaces.
The puzzle caves are boring and feel like a distraction to keep you from making progress too quickly. Whenever I encounter them I feel, ugh, another cave.
Your companion is an annoying flame based around a cheap gimmick, that consistently nudges you towards self harm / suicide. Every single time the game prompts me with his dialogue I immediately feel like they could have left the dialogue out and the game would be better for it, but again, it's a distraction to waste your time.
It's not a very satisfying game.
Edit1: I'm now at the final boss and my desire to finish this is at an all time low.
One of the best platformers
There may be spoilers.
The game has a better and bigger upgrade system.
And bigger than the previous game but .
There is not much variety and at times it is either repetitive or boring.
The story is boring and uninteresting and the personalities inside even more so.
Three boring boring and cheap bosses and very few enemies.
There are three terrains for digging and the rest is either small or puzzles like a cave is just a puzzle.
You find every hidden object and you have a disgusting puzzle level of 7 puzzles that you can pass if you want, and the reward is a stupid achievement and a useless slip that you passed it.Which is more difficult than the whole game together.
Plays with secondary characters to look for the first one which is removed quite early.
You can't jump and punch which would have been quite useful.
Best with a discount, the game doesn't have much variety and is quite boring at times.
Dig 2 builds on the foundation of the first game, continuing its story while refining and improving the gameplay. The core concept of digging remains, but the difference in new power-ups for the main character gives it a fresh feel. The improvements address many of the shortcomings from the original, making this sequel fun and well worth picking up.
Minecraft but you just mine, so it's Mine
It's not awful, but not that interesting.
It's quite short, has very little customization, and all the unique things it did felt more annoying than fun. Like digging to traverse the world seems cool at first, but in reality it just means it takes forever to try to explore, and you're bound to miss most things unless you just dig everything forever.
Most enemies can just be ignored, and none feel satisfying to fight. Towards the end you're largely just spamming jump and getting from point A to B as fast as you can because nothing in between is interesting, and the story is very basic
Fun, simple, and short.
Excellent digging game, mixed with surprising amount of neat metroidvania
A Metroid-style Metroidvania with a unique hook. Even though the flow is generally linear, the game rewards exploration, backtracking, and going some places you otherwise would not go. There is a good power-up progression from beginning to end.
The game primarily uses close range combat, but it is not a complex souls-like system; the player is at risk from enemies but will not be significantly slowed by long fights.
The digging in the game allows for a limited puzzle-like interaction with the environment, but if you don't want to burn your brain you can often bull-rush your way through much of the game.
Control is pleasant.
It's not a tremendously long game. I think it probably could have used another 20% to get to "just long enough" before it started getting too long. I think the game also would have benefited from having more than just a couple boss fights.
That said, even at full price the game is such a fun play from beginning to end it's a strong recommendation.
More minerals, more digging, more fun! It's like two dimensional Deep Rock Galactic. Dig deeper and find new caverns, mysterious caverns, dangerous tunnels. You don't have to play the first one, but I recommend it because it's just as fun.
Hands-down one of the best games I've ever played. Just fun, front to back. Nothing janky, boring, or unfair. And it takes the awesome core gameplay loop from the original and expands and refines it to make it even better.
I really can't find literally anything wrong with this game.
great sequel only real issue I have is the artstyle change and some of the cringy writing
8/10
Best Metroidvania Ever
Neither one of these games are like, The BEST metroidvanias but it's worth giving a try at least.
Awesome game, excellent graphics and sound with a great story.
متى الجزء الثالث يا ثقال الدم
The cozy metroidvania
This one is fun. A tad bit longer than the first one, a bit more streamlined, and further removed from Motherload, than DIG 1. It offers so much more puzzles (both the jumping kind and the thinking one), secrets, and customization mechanics, whilist retaining the overall feel of the Steamworld world. Even if you didn't like the first one, I would still recommend you to try this one, as the gameplay loop is way more varied, and even the simplicity of digging is taken to the absolute extremes, that could be thought of in the confines of 2D space.
Oh, and don't forget about the music! It's done by El Huervo, which might sound like an odd choice, considering the tone of his works, and comedy assosiated with the series. Somehow, against all the odds tho, the OST fits perfectly.
I can't believe I only became aware of this 7 years after its release.
Tons of replayability. Funny interactions. Enough platforming to keep your interest with later, god tier upgrades.
Great for anybody looking for a fun, Metroidvania explorer that doesn't require a ridiculous amount of muscle memory and hours of practice in order to play.
Good Metroidvania
