This hidden gem of a game offers an exceptionally thrilling and invigorating gaming experience unlike any other I've encountered. With its outstanding replayability, innovative shader engine, and impeccably tuned jump mechanics, the game caters to players of all skill levels. In fact, this is undoubtedly my all-time favorite platformer - no, my favorite game period.
I use this game exclusively as a Standalone Flash Player on Steam, that has a native Linux version. If you press Ctrl+F and then Ctrl+O, you get to open any Flash SWF in it, as long as it's compatible with Adobe Flash Player 11,2,202,442 (which, it most likely will be), you're golden. I use it mostly to play the Linux Humble Store version of The Binding of Isaac+Wrath of the Lamb.
Santa's BIG Adventures is casual platformer and is one of the dumbest things I've come across in a bit. You're done within 10 minutes of collecting 10 gifts and evading falling ice spikes or you know "icicles", reinDEARs and snowman... not snowMEN or anything, just one singular snowman can be found in this game throwing snowballs at you...
Deer God, spelling aside though. What's the real deal of this game anyway? You can stun "enemies" by throwing snowballs at them, but you can just jump over them with ease. Not really sure if you'll benefit in anyway by stunning them, it sure looks easy but you got 3 lives, enough to bypass all that stands in your way... or Santa's way that is!
There's more? Yes:
One of the levels has 1 too many gifts to collect, which I don't care enough about. Some levels have a free falling, grab the gifts and pray, but no clear indication on where to land on the next platform. So you just have to guess. The last level is weird and quickly done, has no challenge just press "D". Your reward for saving Christmas and the kids for having presents? A crash screen, followed by a rain of snow.
Round of applause! Piss your pants! Drink to 'till you pass out! Wake up with all your clothes gone! What an ending for a masterpiece that is "Santa's Big Adventures"! God! Where's my tissuebox! My nose is bleeding!
This game obviously has hardly any replay value, the cost of this game is too much for what it's worth... no achievements... it has trading cards? Trust me! You're better off spending it on anything else but this piece of work. Believe me.
1 / 10
"Snowman can be stun too."
The game tells a compelling story of Santa who has lost all of his presents in a fatal accident with his sleigh that killed Rudolph, and this was on the day before Christmas
Not that big of a game , it crushes in the end and doesnt give the achievement.
10/10 best game gereat story the twists are amazing
thsi game changed me life. i was in a deep depression until i found this game. my lifer went from bed to good me was think me not good but when play, me know. me know.. me good.
It's ok if you are a bad parent that doesn't let their children play something educational like GTA.
Played this game with my 40 year old son to help him regain the spirit of Christmas. He loved it! Despite being one of the most challenging games we've played in years (hardest since Presidential Paintball 2008), we couldn't get enough. Wish it was a couple hours shorter though, since me and my son missed his mother's funeral because we were so enraptured with the game!
Love you,
xoxo
Idk why there's some people giving the game bad reviews, this game is a masterpiece and every other review is wrong and based.
The game tells a compelling story of Santa who has lost all of his presents in a fatal accident with his sleigh that killed Rudolph, and this was on the day before Christmas. The other reindeer got so pissed at Santa for crashing the sleigh from drinking vodka that they all turn against him, and they also build a legion of frosty the snowmans to try to kill him. The gameplay is an epic battle against Santa's reindeer and the Frostys all while Santa tries to gather up the presents for the kids, and he takes the chimneys that warp him through time in space to get to other regions of the north pole. The song that plays in the background is a true masterpiece, probably because it was written by Beethoven back in the 1600s but no one actually knew about it. The ending of the game is a very good plot twist too, having the game crash at the end was something I didn't see coming and was a very cinematic end to this enriching tale. 6/5 stars worth every 2 quarters I spent
The game has very lazy graphics, very boring and they look old, and gets insanely weird at the end it litterally is just a black screen with snow falling from sky, and the level before that is even weird it has broken text and just way too easy so only buy if you don't mind any of the things I just said or you want those trading cards
It might me a little fun but for a basic game, it's very very short. It took me only 15 minutes to finish all chapters of the game lol.
Santa's Big Adventure's is one of the best games of the 2010's, nay, of all time. The controls are fantastic, the story is absolutely thrilling from start to finish, and the characters are so lovable that every death was really impactful. The game is also very immersive. I really felt like I was Santa, which made every fight that much stressful. The graphics look so realistic I'm honestly shocked they managed to get it to look so real. Every one of Santa's hairs is rendered to an unbelievable degree of detail, and the environment is filled with so many secrets you will find new secrets with every new playthrough. I already have 10 hours in this game and I predict I will have many more in the months and years to come. My favourite moment of the game was the end (SPOILERS). The last level has a message which is Santa's final heart wrenching message before his death. In his dying breath he states, "Right click to add text", and then he, along with the rest of the game dies. This scene is incredibly sad as throughout the game you get so attached to Santa, you really feel like hes right there with you. When he dies and utters those final words I know I, an many others, shed a tear.
Overall I would give Santa's Big Adventures 9/10 Santa's I just wish there was more Santa's in the game
It turned out to be a pretty good game. Easy in the beginning, and keeps getting tougher and difficult as we keep going forward.
This is meant to be a platformer for small children, but I think even they would find it dull. It doesn't take long to finish it, then crashes when you do.

This is a classic platformer themed after Santa Claus. I bought it as part of a bundle for the equivalent of 30 cents, and sure, I feel like I received my money's worth. I have young nephews and I think this would be a good candidate to start them off with, just to become familiar with the general concept and typical controls. And the idea of Santa is familar enough and benign enough that it's appropriate for 5- or 6-year-olds.
All the other sentiments about the crashing ending are true. The game seems to have been abandoned after maybe a dozen levels (some of which are pretty piss-poor by platformer standards, by the way), then released. I find that simply a shame. But so it goes. Who knows who the developers were, and what happened? I sure don't.
This game really filled me with the holiday spirit. The visuals are beautiful, and the gameplay is stunning. The levels are designed in such a way that you will never get bored. I would say that this is easily the best Christmas themed video-game to date. Not to spoil anything, but the ending is super fantastic. Overall a great game. Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't regret it.
I bought this game as a fun game to stream for Christmas. At first it was cute however the music gets old very quickly, the controls are clunky and the sound affects horrible. You can't mute just the music which is annoying, I ended up finishing the last part of the game with no sound. When you do finish the game there is no credits, just a black screen with snow flakes. I would not reccomend this game, I do not feel that it was worth the dollar I spent.
This game embodies the renaissance mentality I look for in my indie games. I would reccomend it to friends, family and the king of spain.
I beat this game in about 10 minutes gg pretty spicy, the game ends by crashing and then silent snowfall on a black screen
Santas Big Adventures is a platforming game aimed at kids and casual players. I think it aims for that demographic hoping it’s lazy level design, lazy music and lazy everything else can go unnoticed or forgiven. It's a bad game that no matter how cheap it's priced at is not and will never be worth it. This is a lazy cash grab just in time for Christmas.
