The DLC is a bit all over the place, but It's modern Fire pro, the deepest, most tweakble, all-time best pro-wrestling series on earth. If you enjoyed any earlier versions of fire pro, you will probably love it. If you only enjoy instant gratification action games, you probably won't.
WWE has to publish a middling wrestling title every year to mimic the fraction of what this game has achieved almost a decade ago.

The game could be much more than it delivers. The mechanics are interesting but fall short in motivating me in any way to get better at them.
If you like pro-wrestling, this might be the game for you.
Incredibly well done character creator that goes as far as letting you control the ai, not to mention the unlimited customization with mods. In my 400 hours I have literally never actually played as a wrestler, I just make characters and watch them fight. It's that in depth and fun. I can't imagine the amount you can get out of it if you add in player input as well. Cannot recomend it enough if it's even remotely interesting to you.

needs a new engine crashes so often you get errors out of no where mods from workshop can break the game just needs to be remade with abit of cash put into it the game would be good but i think it runs on a sega mega drive engine
Just from the tiny amount that I have played. This has to be on eof the best wrestling games of all time. from customization, content and overall gameplay. not everyone would be able to understand why the gameplay is so good and just want to mindlessly mash buttons this games gameplay is so Interesting not many wrestling games made even use this formula where it takes skill and you can still have fun. I hope in the future they make another game that will appeal a bit more to the other audiences with maybe a 3d graphical feel with the same customizations and everything this game had but more. definitely recommend this to anyone who loves wrestling and even to people who arent even into it. amazing game!

This game is genuinely horrible.
Was excited to play this once I saw it had entire female wrestling promotions as DLC. So I purchased them and found out not all the options open to the male characters are open to the females. It's basically just a bunch of DLC for female characters you can use in exhibition matches. Deceptive.

Just like I remembered while living in Japan playing the original NES, SNES, Saturn, PS2, and finally the PC. There is just something special about this game and the ability customize. Simple but effective graphics and an absolute joy to navigate. The CPU logic is something special. You really can create matches that cross time. I only wish the promotion was a little better and we had the ability to just create dream cards.
This is the ULTIMATE wrestling game I've ever played, the best ever. I couldn't be happier, it has everything you could ever want.
I thought this would be a boring wrestling game with basic gameplay but this is one of my favorite wrestling game of all time filled with my favorite wrestlers as well.

Be able to create your custom wrestlers in any style and download different design for their wrestling attires, as well as wrestling moves their I can use on any wrestlers, I can honestly say this by far the wrestling game I played and would love to share it with my friends and see what they can come up with. The only dislikes I have about this game is just the fact that I've sometime have to re-download certain parts to my wrestlers, also the game doesn't have an in game option to change the camera angle to however you want it to be and certain wrestling moves will cause the character to broken or if certain action happens during a tag team match, then your character will immediately freeze in place. Other than that, I loved the game and I will continue playing for years to come, and also please download more animal parts as well as wrestling designs, parts, and moves for anyone to download.

I've spent over 500 hours on this game and haven't even played it. It's amazing.
Fire Pro Wrestling World is a wrestling simulation at its core. If you want something more bombastic with amazing visuals, check out the WWE 2K titles. If you want something more arcadey, there's games like Action Arcade Wrestling and others that will have you covered. FPWW aims to give wrestling fans something a little different though with the ability to have different promotions, rosters, stables and more at your fingertips. It's one of the deepest wrestling sims around.
Fire Pro Wrestling World like many of the previous titles offers up one of the deepest create a wrestler modes seen in any wrestling game. From looks to moveset FPWW has got you covered. Even for the arenas themselves! For those who don't want to spend the time though there are several creators who have amassed an army of real and fictional wrestlers over on the FPWW Steam workshop. And they got you covered on just about everything you can imagine. Want to create a classic WCW roster? They got you. Want to create a roster of nothing but Marvel superheroes? They still got you. And the likenesses can be pretty amazing for most of them. The only caveat to workshop downloads is that some wrestlers do require the purchase of some DLC. But tons of them do not, so you should be fine with just the base game.
Speaking of the DLC, none of it is really required, but some of it can be fun. Such as the NJPW DLC which adds in a healthy amount of real life at the time New Japan Pro Wrestling stars, with new moves for create a wrestler, new voices, and more. Even a neat little story mode called Fighting Road. There's also a couple of Stardom rosters as DLC to add in a bunch of real life female wrestlers from that company. You also have Fire Promoter which let's you play as well, a promoter. And several other bits of DLC mixed around to buy if you want. None of it is required, and honestly most of it I'd say avoid as it adds very little to the main game outside of CAW stuff. But if you do decide to jump down the DLC rabbit hole, wait for some sales.
They do have this handy bundle available, but for everything else it's best to piece meal or just avoid.
As for the actual gameplay, FPWW has several modes of match types. You got your normal wrestling, tag teams, cage matches and more. They even have crazy stuff like barbed wire matches and even one where the ring explodes after a certain period! You can also play matches inside of an octagon with MMA rules. And also while not the best simulation, there's even boxing/kickboxing rules which is kind of neat. There's also foreign objects you can grab as well to cause more damage to opponents with things such as chair shots to the head! And yes, you can in fact bust wrestlers open and make them bleed. Wouldn't be a wrestling game without it.
You have full control over your wrestler, and perform moves by standing, running, or during grapples. A lot of is based on timing and position of the wrestlers which is pretty easy to get used to. You can throw wrestlers into the turnbuckles, or climb them yourself for diving moves, fight outside the ring, etc... They have most of the aspects of wrestling covered here. You even have a neat trading blows segment at certain times. The wrestling is honestly extremely fun, especially with all the various moves you can go through for each wrestler with the grapple system. Everytime you get in grapple position you can choose a move based on which button you press plus which direction. And moves are tied to 3 buttons, which would equate usually to a weak, medium and strong grapple move. The directions multiply this quite a bit. You also have some devestating moves which when mixed with the opponents own logic rules can cause things like critical damage putting them out of action essentially depending on their own weaknesses. And man is it a delight to crit someone!
You also have online multiplayer for anyone interested in that!
Fire Pro Wrestling has a deep history having been around for well over 30 years. And FPWW has pretty much claimed the top spot in the series being arguably the best game in the entire series.
the greatest wrestling game ever
For those who like wrestling games, but aren't familiar with Fire Pro Wrestling, you are in for a treat. Even though this game looks very simplistic, it has a very deep creation system for created wrestlers. Not so fast. While this game is fun, you'll have to get used to the playstyle. If you play this game like an arcade button masher, you're going to get your butt handed to you every time. The game revolves more around timing your button presses at the right moments. There are three attacks: weak, medium, & strong. You have to start by weakening your opponent(s) & gradually working you way up to using the strong attacks.
There are many different match types & variations of match types. Unfortunately, You won't find ladder, hell in a cell, or special referee matches. This is one of the few games that includes an exploding ring death match. One of my favorite chaotic matches is the endless battle royal. 8-men are in the ring. Even as contestants are eliminated, they are still allowed to be in the ring to wreak as much havoc as possible. It makes for fun & challenging gameplay.
As stated before, it has a very deep creative suite. You can craft parts to add to created wrestlers to make them look more like wrestlers from WWE, WWF, WCW, ECW, TNA, ROH, CMLL, WOW, NJPW, etc. You can also create promotions & stables. My one gripe is that you have to create a stable within a promotion to add characters to it. You can also create championships, wrestling rings, & referees. You can also customize moves.
If you like management modes, this game has you covered with Fire Promoter. In this mode, you start out as a fledgling wrestling promotion, with only 6 wrestlers on your roster, & have to make it into a much larger promotion. You manage every aspect from the gym, the roster, inviting guests to your events, merchandising, sponsorships, TV contracts, & can even work with or even poach talent from rival promotions. You can run cross promotion events & take that opposing brand's championships away from them.
While this game is great, I do have a few issues with it:
1. When adding characters from the Steam Workshop, when you subscribe to adding a character, sometimes there might be other parts missing. This will result in you adding an incomplete character to your roster, only to find out you can't play as them. Some will tell you that you have to subscribe to other created parts before being able to play, but I've encountered quite a few when even after doing that, they were unplayable.
2. You can't just remove characters from your roster. You can transfer them to the retired section, but not completely remove them. (If someone know how to do this, please let me know.)
3. In Fire Promoter, you can't have varied matches at an event. You can select to have all normal matches, all cage death matches, all exploding barbed wire matches, or all barbed wire matches, but you can't individually select just one cage match.
4. After adding bunches of created content, organizing everything can be tedious. When you add new content, it initially appears under the teamless or retired section. You have to create the promotions, create the factions, & then move every character to where you want them. This can be time consuming.
Again, this game is fun, once you have learned how to play it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this game an 8.25.
