it simulates what you expect a gladiator trainer needs to do and i really had much fun playing it. I would just love to have Steam achievements.

VERDICT:
This game is quite the mess, the visuals are terrible, the music is boring along with the sound effects, and the game has it's fair share of bugs which should've been dealt with before it's full release. I can't criticise the gameplay too much since I did get a little enjoyment out of this and I would've gotten so much more if it wasn't for the bugs.
The biggest issue would be the amount of bugs I came across during my play through, I'll list the main bugs: After a fight, I was unable to click my warriors back at the school to tell them what to do, this is the biggest issue I had, the only way to solve this would to send my warriors to bed. Which brings me to the next bug, The 'Go to sleep' button is no longer popping up when night time comes, so these two bugs together can make things very tedious. Next to that, it is no longer getting dark so my warriors aren't getting enough sleep because of this, making them cranky and enraged very often.
If you're still interested in getting this game, please buy it on a big sale, it's not worth the original asking price in this state.

This is a very fun to play strategy game.I like the grinding and the story and the Gladiator style.I totally recommend giving a try.

I'd like to know why all my progress is lost.I tried to play again the game again after 2 months and the last time i played i saved my progress but when I entered today all my progress in the game was lost and my world "save" didn t existed anymore.I want to know what happened.
Frustrating, poor design decisions.
For example, had a gladiator battle where my gladiator quickly KOed the opponent and opponent didn't even get an attack.
The end of the battle my gladiator was reduced to zero health.
In other words, wounds at the end of battles are not connected to how the battle actually went. WTF.
I had this game before this huge rework, but to be truthful the game is fun for the most part. There's definitely times when I'm lost in the game due to the lack of guidance. Though there aren't too many issues with the game. The fights are decent, I still don't know how the ai works for the fights though. For example, my tendency was mostly attack but the opponent was able to taunt with no punishments. To wrap it up, I really want a way to speed up the game because it's really slow paced unless Im missing something.
they had a great game going, then they changed the whole concept and took out what i feel like is 50% of the content... i don't know why they changed something that works
Not enough content some of the changes took content away from the game makes no sense what they did to update this game and they should have called it a downdate.
This is not the little fun game any more I once got after watching a Deluks Gaming video..
They should have released this update as a "Gladiator School II" or something.
Edit: apparently they reverted the change and went back to "vanilla"

This is no longer the game that i bought loads of features have been removed it has been turned into a reskin of boxing school wich i already have and have no need for two
The new update destroyed the originality of the game. Gladiator School was unique and just need to be balanced. Instead of fixing the broken mechanics and polishing the game the devs just copied Boxing School. I will not buy another game from Raptor Claw Games after this copy paste garbage.
Wanted to play the game I saw Splatter Cat play on his play-through. It's nothing like that game, all the features that I was wanting to play with are now stripped completely out of the new version. Thought maybe I needed to play a bit before I could get to that version, but I haven't seen it. Too bad.
Prior to the pitboss update I would have recommended this game but as of Feb, 2021 the developer decided to completely remake the game much for the worse... Its no longer a superior product to domina....
EDIT: With the new update they brought back the old version. And this old version is the reason why this game is so good and different from the other games with the same play style, even from developer's other games. If you don't care about any graphics just go and try the game immediately. Devs update the game constantly and they care about what their players say. Thanks for listening us <3 and I hope the game gets to better places.
Don't even think about playing it in new version. I highly recommend the game but not this *better* new version. If you wanna have fun while playing just play the 2017 version and if you want a finished product just wait till they release huge new update or turn back to the old version.

With this latest update, reverting the game back to its original state, and adding quality of life improvements as well as a free DLC content update at the same time. I'm very glad to say I am once again enjoying my time with this game.
I can again say this game is worth it for some mindless gladiator management.
I haven't gotten to the "new" content yet, and will update again once I've played through it all.
But I am optimistic and hopeful.
I have so much fun with this game.keep me on my toes for sure.never had more then two Gladiators at a time.there's a lot to do. I wonder if it's got a time limit?I keep starting over I don't want it to end.
An interesting but entirely unfinished game I bought for less than the cost of a soda.
Worth all 119 pennies.
Most features are not entirely finished, but the game is playable.
If you are looking for any tactical depth, you won't find it here. Plays like a slow and dumbed down Swords and Sandals.

Haven't played for very long yet, but this is my first take on the game. I might edit this review in the future.
When I first started a game, I got very confused on what to do. There is no tutorial what so ever (aside from clicking F1, which I only found out after 10 minutes of frustration and confusion), and you are litterally thrown in the deep. When you start understanding some of the basics, it gets a little easier though, and you feel like you are making progress as you play. It feels somewhat rewarding, specially after you win your very first fight!
Be prepared to learn things the hard way though. I restarted my game multiple times due to making some gameruining descisions such as spending all my gold in the start (because hey, I can build everything I want and spend all my gold, it's not like I need it for anything else! Well, that is, until your warriors start to get enraged and you ran out of very expensive liquor and cakes.), sending my warriors to way too hard fights, and promoting your school for basically no gain at all, spending your hard needed points.
I am still somewhat confused as to what I am supposed to do, and what are the right decisions. However, I do slowly start to get the format of the game, and I like where it is heading.
Some annoying bugs I have encountered, hopefully the DEVs will read this and do something about it:
- After a fight, I was unable to click my warriors back at the school to tell them what to do. Very annoying.
- The 'Go to sleep' button is no longer popping up when nightime comes.
- Next to that, it is no longer getting dark, despite that the time depletes and a new day starts. My warriors are getting lack of sleep because of this, making them cranky and enraged very often.
- You can "heal" people with very expensive and hard to get medicine, even though they don't need it. I'd rather have an error pop up if they don't need it, because I accidently clicked it 5 times already, making me broke and unable to revive my KO warriors in the end.
I would recomment this game while it is on sale (-90%), but not for the 11,99 it normally is. It is too buggy atm and not enough tutorials and explanation for the price to be justified.
"I have been playing this game from BETA for about 6 months now, I cant recommed this game as it should still be early access, it's nowhere near complete yet and should never have got its full release.
The Storyline isnt finished and a lot of the NPC text refers to features that either havent been implemented or have been deleted in BETA.
Hopefully the Devs will finish the game, yet when they released ProGamer Managerthey promised so much, yet produced so little after its full release, even offering a free copy of ProGamer Manager 2 to people who bought the original. They made this instead and it looks like another half-finished cash-grab.
I hope I'm wrong as it is a fun little game, but nowhere near finished yet."

The updates were terrible, left an unfinished game.
3 years later reskinned a later game as an update. Shocking.
Game is surprisingly fun for how basic it is, although 10 bucks seems a bit expenive for the same simplistic reason. This last update is bulls**t however. Before, you could pick what moves your gladiator did in the arena. Now it's "advanced AI" just does it's ultimate until your stamina is completely drained. Matches that should only take 3 moves to win now take 20 and I get to the point of wanting to throw my computer at a wall.
I still recommend this game, but get your sh*t together Raptor Claw.
The gladiator RPG has been an almost untapped market until this point. There have been games that almost scratch the itch to run a gladiator school but, they all fell short in certain aspects. This game, while it may have its flaws, is an early access game with a lot to show for already! There is pretty fun controlling of the gladiator's lives, combat, and things that they do outside of your school. I personally enjoy this game very much and would recommend it to anyone looking to have some fun with gladiators. Since this game is actually and early access game, it gives me hope that there can be even more great things to do in this game. I hope that they come up with great additions to the game and listen to their customers about other things that should be implemented as well. While this game is quite good, I believe that it could be a lot better if they fix a few bugs like not being able to send your guard to do anything in the school and the workout schedule not working right. We all know that these things will certainly be fixed soon and when those things are fixed the game will be even better!
I really enjoy this game but I believe that there are some things that could make it better. While these things aren't needed to make the game good in anyway, seeing them introduced would definitely be a welcomed sight!
Skip things like waking into arena and seeing rewards from battles.
Kick people out of their rooms so another person can live there.
Send people to bed to get them well rested.
A real market that you can visit at any time to buy or sell weapons and armor, food, wood, and slaves.
Allow us to destroy built things like rooms and equipment.
There should be public punishments like whipping the slaves to boost the morale of everyone.
Allow the AI to surrender in combat when they have low health instead of just getting killed.
A worshipping system would be amazing but only if you feel up to it. We really don't need it in the game. With this system, the player will be able to make offerings of blood or gold in order to make the gods happy and get better results in the arena.
