its alright but there is a game breaking bug that once you can switch gravity it gets perma stuck even if you delete the files in game... besides that this is awesome!
Achievments don't seem to work but else it is a fine game!
Good game, this game encourages me to take up game development. My only complaint would be the achievements aren't unlocking like it should, gameplay wise its fine.
This is an awesome game that tells a message through gameplay. When building levels, not only do you have to balance all different aspects of game design to make money, you get to actually feel what it's like to have money as such a large constraint on the development process. It does a really good job of telling what seems to be a very personal story. Plus, it's just straight up fun!
Ever since I read their tutorial about HTML 5 game development when I was 11 years old, I have been a HUGE fan of Lost Decade Games. They're a great studio who really care about the indie game scene.
Good game, But how do i get money?
I do not got money to upload a game now, So i cannot do anything, Did i mess up?
A must own for anyone interested into getting into video games. Good use of pixel art to get me in the mood to dream alittle bit which helps with the style of minigames out there. Surprisely awarding mechanic having to make little minigames to unlock items for ingame and the players lifestyle to improve their career. Does feel grinding a bit but it's worth it.
It's like Mario Maker for the PC with stas assigned to your levels. I'd say it's worth it.
its certainly a game
gud
Great game! You can make games, play the games, play other games, post the games online, and play games that other people have made. Other people don't even need the game to play yours games! How awesome is that. Plus the developer plays some of the games that players have made on his YouTube channel. If that's not incentive to make some hard games, I don't know what is.
Highest rating I can give.
Really enjoyed this game. Fun, creative and personal, all the hallmarks of a great gaming experience.
I refunded an hour before I realized that the game had nothing else to offer. The content of the game is much too small and has no replay value. Once you create and publish a game that you're happy with there is no reward except for cheap individual reviews and some arbitrary money value that you earned from it. Big whoop. You may then purchase more junk for your future games and repeat the cycle of make game from scratch, publish game, earn money, purchase junk. I call the items junk because they bring little to no mechanical change to the game. You might get an item that moves left to right instead of up and down OR it may just be another useless aesthetic block/avatar so your level looks different. Additionally, the pixelated art, music, and sounds were all average to poor. The few bright spots of this game cannot make up for the lack of content and weak gameplay for any price put on this game. It is just not worth your time.
I'm amazed how well this game captures the joy of creating clever interactive puzzles. For that alone, it's excellent. Then IGS goes further to simulate the ups and downs of what it's like to publish those puzzles to sell out in the world. So good!!!
This is a great pick-up-and-play game. The notifications are a good way to indicate what you should be doing next when you first start playing. There's also a good progression in the rating system which keeps you experimenting with new mechanics and designs. All-around solid fun.

10/10 would fap again
Indie Game Sim captures the essence of indie dev, shorn of a thousand boring details. It's like the playable equivalent of Indie Game: The Movie, with good mechanics and a strong message, combined to create a great package. It's fresh, it's original, and it's fun, I think it's well worth your purchase.
The game plays out in three modes. First, you create your levels from an ever-increasing list of blocks. Like minecraft in miniature, as you progress through the game you unlock new blocks and discover new ways of combining old blocks to create levels that will challenge you and your players.
Second, you test the levels you've built, tweaking the block layout to increase the difficulty and improve the timing. The mechanics are simple: you can run, jump, and interact with blocks. Mechanically, the game feels like a faster Super Mario Brothers, or I Wanna Be The Guy. As you play your levels, IGS shows pop ups like "FUN!" and "DANGER!" as you encounter different objects like spikes and jump switches. I'm pretty sure that this is the game hinting at how it internally 'scores' your levels.
In a neat touch, you can also send your completed levels to anyone with a browser. Recipients do not need to have purchased the game itself to play your levels.
Finally, you 'release' your game into a marketplace which more than superficially resembles Steam. NPC players score your game on the variety of blocks you used, the "FUN!" and "DANGER!" counts, and how much of the level they traverse during play. If they like your game, the NPCs purchase your work, become fans of your brand, and leave you reviews. Like what I'm doing now. Way meta.
I wanted to highlight the persistent feeling of exploration and anxiety that come across while playing. Designing your 'indie games' is FUN. I really enjoyed putting together a level and then tweaking the layout so as to require split second timing to reach the goal. But even when my NPC reviewers really liked the games I released, I couldn't help but compare myself with the other game developers (yes, there are NPC developers releasing games alongside yours) that had created what I felt were better games than I had. And when you get reviews in the marketplace - when you release a good game, you'll get a ton - you'll notice that there are a handful of random, unhelpful negative reviews left by players. "worst game ever" and "die more" were two I remember. We've all seen these exact same reviews on Steam store pages, but seeing them on my "games" gave me a new appreciation for how developers must see them. It made me feel vulnerable, which is really impressive for such a bite-sized experience. And I went back to design another level, hopeful that this time I could please everyone and release the best game in the marketplace. I'm still trying.
IGS is a ton of fun. The theme and mechanics really reinforce each other, and combine to create a great product. The ability to share your levels alone is worth the buy. I've bought copies for my brother and fiancee, and I'm looking forward to playing together during the holidays.
Awesome and perfect Pixel Art :3
Cool game that doles out its fun in bite-sized chunks, allowing you to play for 10-15 minutes at a time. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed playing my own games, and look forward to unlocking new features that expand on that gameplay.
The only downside for me is (on a Mac, at least) the mouse scrolling - the sliders get a bit confused on whether I want them to be scrolling up or down, and end up being jerky. This seems like something the dev can fix in a patch, so I'm not worried at this early stage. Other than that, friggin' neat.
