Game only shows imputs for vive wands. So I can't see any controls for my index controllers, I also couldn't even move in-game with those controllers. Don't buy this if you use index controllers and don't expect it to be fixed since the devs have abondoned the game.
Abandonware.
Likely abandoned - No update in months, or a peep from the developers.
A damn shame too, because it feels like your standard Time Crisis arcade game which is the reason I got it. However right now its just too short for the price, and likely is just another EA Abandonware.
This is by far the most fun I've had with VR. The campaign is short, but bolsters extremely immersive and fast paced gameplay. A prime example of putting game design over graphics.
Like the John Wick VR game, you'll find yourself physically ducking behind cover to stay safe.
After completing the short campaign, you will unlock "Classic Mode" which turns up the intensity forcing you to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and doge your way out of trouble.
Keep a towel nearby, you're going to accumulate some forehead sweat.
I wanted to like this game based on its premise, a time-crisis clone in room scale using dash mechanics to advance to levels. However, the game in its current state barely contains enough content to be standalone game and it lacking some polish that makes it worth its price.
Gameplay:
* If you liked playing Time Crisis at the arcade growing up, then you'll like this genre of gameplay. The player uses duck-and-cover to dodge incoming enemy rounds, and at times the game will go into a bullet-time mode to allow the player to dodge rounds or shoot grenades coming straight at them.
* The story is fairly basic and some more realistic sound effects and voice over narration could definitely improve the production value of this title. No one likes to click through endless crawls of text to understand a thin storyline.
* The story consists of three missions and can be beaten around 30 minutes. There are no difficulty settings.
Weapons/Interactions
* This is one area of the game that needs wide improvement. Switching between weapons pretty hit or miss. I could only manage to switch between the SMG and pistol around 50% of the time.
* Having both grenades and reloading mechanics available at the same time in your left controller is very confusing, especially when the meshes/objects both show up on your left controller at the same time. I had no idea what it was and the objects themselves are bulky and block your vision more than it needs to. I think the left controller should only do one thing at a time at most. Perhaps switch the grenade mechanic back to the right controller as a different weapon.
* Reloading is more of a pain than it should be. Trying to get a clip in your hand from your belt doesn't always work and I find myself trying to reload with an empty hand frustratingly often. Replace the "belt" placeholder with a actual belt object might make the game look more polished.
UI
* Navigating between menus and pressing buttons is kind of a pain and could be more intuitive
* It's not always abundantly clear where the next dash area is when trying to proceed between scenes in a level. I found myself standing and looking around to find how to advance more times than I could count and it really broke the flow of the game.
Tl;dr: The game in its current state does not have enough content and polish for $15.
The game is actually really good, but it is way to short for it's price. I was able to finnish it in around 30min. As soon as more content is added, it will definitely be something I would recommend.
TL;DR - For those looking for a Time Crisis style game, this is the closest you'll find so far!

The Torus Syndicate is a game that allows you to tackle mission style sessions in a short story. The current progress is about 4 or so missions and a survival mode. The game lets you take a point in space and throws guys at you from various directions. It is up to you to dodge bullets and gives you warning when they will hit you. This paired with the need to shoot back creates a fun and interesting gameplay. Once an area is cleared, it gives you options as to where to move next and it'll move you there before the next group of enemies will appear. This is most similar to the arcade classic Time Crisis. The game currently is fun for a few hours and a bit of the survival, the team is looking to expand the game and I am greatly excited for them to do so. Currently there are a few bugs. But they aren't game breaking. You can jump ahead of the enemies by doing a certain thing, but it actually just makes the game a bit more interesting as it doesn't do anything bad.
Overall a fun experience that isn't asking more than it should. Greatly looking forward to more advantages.
This game is a blast and a great way to get some exercise. Constantly dodging bullets and crouching to take cover can really get you sweating. This game makes me feel like I'm in the old Time Crisis series, actually taking cover instead of just pressing the button. Looking forward to seeing what additional features the developers have in store, but I'm already satisfied, with the content for the price paid.
If you enjoy Time Crisis this game is a must! This was one of the most played games that my friends and family played when I brought it over for parties and holidays. It will definitely get you involved with the action. If it weren't for the fact that there are only 3 missions, I'd say it would be difficult to say this was an early access game. But I am definitely looking forward to the future content.
This game is awesome. Don't let the cute simple graphics fool you. They work very well.
The teleport system is very well done, and always makes sure that you match your real life play area with the game area. This is needed, because you'll need to duck behind cover all the time. In fact most of my playsessions have ended because I was physically exhausted.
I look forward to where this game is going. The developers just added a challenge mode, which is good fun. I can't wait for more of this!

Great example of a game that was built for VR from the ground up. The low-poly style is not a detraction at all--in fact I'd say it allows the developers AND players to focus on moving around and interacting with the virtual world in a meaningful way. Very cool game, definitely worth the purchase!
I cant decide if this game is worth the money or not. Concept and gameplay are amazing for being on rails but the so called "story mode" has only 3 missions. I have found slight replay value but there definately isnt 15 dollars worth of play time. I would wait to buy this until its ready to be worth that much.
I am really enjoying this. It is what is says, a classic arcade rail shooter only in room scale VR so you have to hustle when a bullet is coming at you, not just tap your foot. Really excited about the potential in this game. Please keep it up. Please add more easter eggs like the one on the opening menu!
Fantastic fantastic shooter. This game is proof of the potential of VR when developers take a bit of time to create something that goes beyond room scale.
Even though the game is totally on rails, there's a real sense of freedom that comes from simply moving continously around a map, rather than simply blink teleporting (this uses a dash teleport to fixed locations mechanic). And it's quite well balanced as a shooter as well. Enough challenge to keep you on your toes, and enough variety to enemy mechanics and placement to make it feel consistently fun.
Honestly, it's a must have for the Vive; it's a bit short right now, but then it's only the first act in early access. Even at this price, it's totally justifiable as been best in class shooter. It's also a great game to show friends and family; low on motion sickness and high on fun and playability.
The developers are responsive; they fixed a broken reload mechanic within a day and the game is much better for it. If you want to help push it along, get in early and send them your suggestions too!

2 hours of gameplay so far, and WOW! The Torus Syndicate is definately one of the best FPS shooters for HTC Vive right now! This is an arcade rail-shooter with storyline, with great graphics and incredible VR immersion. What an amazing Virtual Reality experience this is guys, you really need to try it out!
In The Torus Syndicate, you are a newly graduated rookie cop, named Lucas Lawson. You are thrown right into the action fighting bad guys and experiencing the dramatic underworld of The Torus Syndicate city. You start off with a very helpful tutorial and shorthly thereafter jump into the main story progressing from level to level with constant action and a cool storyline!
The graphics of The Torus Syndicate may look simple, but its actually really awesome and the feeling of being inside this game in VR is just incredible. Sound effects are great, the weapon handling is very nice as you manually reaload your weapons, and the physics is impressive as you can interact, shoot, move and destroy almost everything you see around you. Wow, huge thanks to the developers for this lovely VR title!
Well, I guess my video review says it all, so Im not going to to do a full text review. I may continue and add some stuff to this review later on when I have played more and if more content is added. But as it is now, its one of the coolest games for HTC Vive, I promise you guys.
Just buy it and enjoy it in Virtual Reality!
Every once and a while, i decide to pick up a VR game. Sometimes i'm blown away. Sometimes not so much. Then this pops up... So why not try it out.... OH WAS I RIGHT!

I'm not going to drop a full review on this game, because i honestly think it speaks for itself. I'm not sure how long the full experience is, but from what i have played i can say this is the way i hope VR goes in the future. The environment and random enemy spawning was refreshing i must admit!
My only issue is the reloading, it makes the game harder then it is and takes you out of it at times. Adding that there is no check point system for if you do die, it can be a grind to get back to where you where previous (But like with any game, you improve and move on) If this can be looked at, this game would flow extremely well (by this i mean the reload system)
Huge thumbs up from me! This game that takes me into another world as VR should!
