Tales of the Elements is an indie action role-playing game adaptation of the album of the same name, developed by the album's producer and recording artist, Last BeNeVoLeNcE. While similar to the classic style of Japanese RPGs of the 90s, TotEFC blends Hip Hop music and culture with the characteristics and setting of a traditional JRPG to create a world of fantasy and style!
Starring music producer and recording artist Last BeNeVoLeNcE, the legendary “Chip Hop” pioneer Mega Ran, and Panacea producer K-Murdock!
Key Features:
- Based on the Hip Hop album of the same name
- Japanese-style RPG storytelling like the classics of the 90’s
- True 4-player co-op action battle system with X-Box 360 gamepad support
- A great soundtrack that features a unique blend of Hip Hop and RPG music
- Hip Hop themed mechanics that are rewarding but optional
- Highly challenging gameplay that features light puzzle-solving progression--No maps or quest markers!
- Secret bosses and a hidden unlockable that literally breaks the 4th wall
- Developed by the artist who produced and recorded the album

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.
I don't know why game has been divided into 2 separated entries instead of merging it into 1.
Gameplay is clunky, AI a bit of clowning.
All what stands behind the game is soundtrack.

I have beaten chapter 1. I have chapter 2 on my system however after the finale of chapter 1 I spawn out of bounds and am unable to do anything. how can i start chapter 2???
Innovative themes and fun hack and slash action are what I liked about this game.
Not too far in, but the soundtrack so far is awesome and the story seemed refreshing. Interested in finding out more about the main storyline. Definitely a different direction for an RPG for sure, but good job guys.
I am digging it so far. The sound track makes me tingle. The sounds in general tick a nostalgia that I haven't felt since the SNES, and early playstation era.
Pros:
~ The characters are cool, and feel unique.
~ The art is great
~ Sound Track IS SO SO GOOD.
~ Controls are tight.
~ Characters are creative
~ The writing is neat. If you go into it with the mind set that this is written by hip hop artist the disconnect is greatly appreciated.
~ I love that almost every line in this game so far can be sung.
Cons:
~ That being said this game NEEDS a lot of polish.
~ I've killed monsters, and they'll die in areas that I cannot access so I cannot pick up whatever they drop.
~ I was sad that I couldn't use my SNES USB game pad, and had to use a XBOX controller. I would like to see the control scheme get changed to something that I can select.
~ The hit detection is really off some times.
~ The shadows in some areas are just black so I was having trouble seeing where my character is walking.
Over all I am liking what I am seeing, but It would be nice to see this game polished. I'd recommend it honestly. It's cute, and I appreciate all the hard work put into it. I am also biased. I love the genre, and anything that MegaRAN touches I treat as gold. I always support his projects.
An interesting mix of pure Hip-Hop and 16-bit ARPG gameplay (ala Secret of Mana or Ys).
Pros:
Fantastic hip hop score
Unique story that is a refreshing take on the standard RPG tropes
Rich atmosphere
It's fairly challenging. It won't hold your hand.
Cons:
Movement can be overly sensitive
You'll hate bees more than you already do
It's soundtrack is worth the price alone. If your heart aches for the days of SNES RPGs or you just really dig indie hip hop, pick this up. It may be a bit niche for casual gamers, but 80's and 90's kids should feel right at home.
An 80's babies dream come true! Old school RPG with a fantastic soundtrack. Absolutely a must have.
I like the tone and music, but the gameplay is a little slippery and inprecise. The other party members AI constantly run off and get themselves killed too which sucks.
So far, I like the music and I like the gameplay. It's simple and pretty damn chill.
However, I couldn't find an option for fullscreen. If anyone has a problem with windowed,
you just have to edit the game.ini file located (by default) @:
C: /Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/tales of the elements FC/game.ini
Not really sure why people are freaking out about this. It's a very basic, dull game with outdated graphic/chip-sets used, general gameplay is boring and about as dense as it gets. Music isn't even good; and it's a godamn music-based game.
