The game is generally OK, but no second chapter, awful scraping noise every time you go into a window, and boring alchemy puzzles. It only tool 3 hours on my first play-through and that is simply not long enough.
A good game, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around where was everybody in the supposed YEARS before this happened.. It was a little "off" I guess.
I enjoyed this game more than any other HOG I've played so far. The finding and putting together objects to progress the game make sense and make you feel smart. I loved the uniqueness of the hidden object screens, they changed depending on what you are trying to find or make. It has a great alchemy element which I found surprising and fun. The puzzles are challenging but intuitive enough that you don't ever feel like you have to skip. As a massive fan of Nancy Drew mysteries I was surprised to find that this has some of the same qualities that I'm always looking for in mystery games. Excited to play the rest in the series!
Smooth play and story!
A pretty decent hidden object/puzzle game. If you're into this kind of game, you'll likely enjoy playing it.
Cute and fun HOG. I love artifex mundi games. This one was fun.
I'm a huge Artifex Mundi games fan, but I cannot recommend this one. The story and plot are completely nonsensical; everything feels shallow and rushed. The Alchemy mechanic is absolutely useless, and I felt zero connection to the story, or its characters. 1/5.
The first of the series. Very enjoyable, probably one the most logical in terms of 'cause and effect' of the puzzles. I felt like I was in a fantasy adventure novel! Alchemy based HOGs are some of my favourites. Though the 'potion making' puzzle got tedious after a while and I skipped the ones near the end. ^-^
Like another one of this series, it's almost a children's tale (those games where you have to listen to a story? they're here). It's well done, but trying on the adult patience. Thankfully hints and skips recharge quickly on casual. Annoying "do the sequence" puzzles that can't be skipped. I'll give a thumbs up for the quality of the game build overall, but not for much else. It gets boring fast. It's also very short, 2-3 hours, no bonus chapter.
