Its one of the best game experiences i`ve ever had in my childhood/teen age years. Good to get it on steam as well.
Fran bow, who suffered enough, you have done very well, may you find peace and happiness with Mr. Midnight, Palontras and Itward in Ithersta. You deserve a big hug.
Phenomenal artwork. Excellent story writing. Impressive psychological representation of childhood trauma. Must play for anyone who love Alice in the Wonderland.
if you like sally face, then you will love this one too!! however, it was a lot more difficult and required more critical thinking.
10/10 !! VERY GOOD GAME!!
Absolutely loved this game! Thought provoking, heartwarming and extremely disturbing/creepy, all in one bundle. The game took a decent amount of time to play, but I wish there was more of Fran and her adventures.
i finally finished it after 10 long hours. i bought it on sale a few month back but only played it recently because i had other things to do, im also very happy that i got all achievements though it wasnt in one run. i admit i did need some help during chapter three but you'd be surprised that i figured out the weird cog puzzle one on my own. i would defo recommend this to all of my friends they all like gory and whimsical games such as franbow and little misfortune. til the next sale!
I LOVED this game! It's the perfect blend of creepy/dark while also being cute. The puzzles were fun and a good variety of difficulties. I absolutely will replay this one sometime!
i like how well made it is for being 9 years old! it runs very well even on low performance computers, there are some spots were its just very shocking and i love how you are able to do it all in a day if you really wanted to, i dont think theres one but i think a Fran Bow 2 would be fun
This is a pretty good adventure game.
I was initially turned off by the game's adolescent, unrestrained horror visuals... Plastering every room with gore and guts is tiring.
The dialogue is very 'English-isn't-my-first-language.' Some characters benefit from awkward language, but anything aiming for clever or poetic misses.
The puzzles are better than average for the genre, but that's a low bar to clear.
But the game's pacey, and that trumps everything else. As long as you're solving puzzles, you're finding new rooms, new puzzle elements... Each chapter is like its own little adventure game with its own flavor of puzzle.
Fran Bow is a classic of its genre, with an interesting and thoughtful plot for its year, even after 10 years it plays very well, it’s good that I didn’t watch Let’s Play as soon as it came out, the game leaves a hint of unsaidness, it’s a pity that the game is so small, but very soulful and unique of its kind, I advise everyone who has not played to play, my rating is 9/10
+I really enjoyed the game.
+Its riddles were easy to solve. If you can't go on in the story there's definetely something you missed/ didn't see/ didn't try.
+The details and fantasy put into the game were great.
+/- The story was nice. BUT the very last part was an unlogical mess and left me behind with a lot of unanswered questions.
-Also the end came very abrupt and sudden without any sense which wasn't satisfying at all.
Would I still recommend the game? Yes. Would I play it again? No.
One of the most beautiful games i've ever played. i remember watching it on youtube back when it was only a demo and following the story later when it released. it means so much to me and i'm so glad i've got to play it myself. absolutely recommending it to everyone
A gorgeous yet morbid story about a little girl and her quest to find her cat.
The art style and lore is amazing and unique with good gameplay.
Sometimes moments in puzzles feel a bit forced, where you have to have to do a specific sequence of events (as in, you have to listen to a character mention something, then interact with said character again to be able to continue the puzzle instead of continuing the puzzle after the first interaction), but outside of the few moments when that happens, the puzzle sections are great.
I also appreciate the fact you can translate what has been written in Ithersta, with a few typos here or there.
Overall a great puzzle game.
this game is one of my favorites.
I love absolutely averything about it, from the story, to the art style, to the gameplay.
I've wanted to play it for many years, but never had the opportunity to buy it, and also because it touches on some very dark themes, and is VERY graphic, so I don't recommend playing if you're not in a great place right now. I know I wouldn't.
it's physological horror, trauma, madness, sadness and gore presented to you on a plate in form of an anwsome and captivating point-and-click.
10/10 recommend
great game
a few puzzles don't make that much sense, but it's mostly fair
It's hard to find another point & click adventure game this engaging, I loved every second of it. It's twisted and heartwarming at times and made me question reality too. An emotional rollercoaster but in a very fantastic way. It was such a great journey playing this piece of art from start to finish, I just can't recommend it enough.
its definitely worth the 15 bucks, it took me about 8 hours to beat. good story and its engaging. very heartfelt
Very fun point and click with an interesting story and a fun art style
Great game. But VERY graphic and hits on some REALLY tough subjects. Just keep that in mind, before playing.
I remember watching Markiplier play this game years and years ago, so I was immediately hit with nostalgia upon playing it myself. It's certainly a wild one, with just enough spooky horror elements to keep me invested in this weird world without scaring me off. The puzzles are a good workout for your brain, and the art style is whacky and unique. An oldie but a goodie.
Haven't finished the game yet but for now, these are my thoughts. The game is very interesting, so many questions and so little answers are given to you. The downside and it's what made me stop playing it for a while is the difficulty of combining objects and finding them. I found myself stuck in rooms for hours clicking every single object in sight in order to find what I was missing, similar to this problem, I also fund myself breaking my head trying to figure out on ways to combine objects in order to keep going. Sometimes I feel like the objects that you combine make no sense at all and without a guide or walkthrough there is no way you would figure it out by yourselgt (at least in my case). Other than that, it's an amazing game, can't wait to complete it.
Love the art style, especially when things go dark and gore. The story is okay but the puzzles are annoying, or maybe I'm just too dumb for it, idk. Lol. The ending is a bit confusing and some parts of the game made me sleepy but still enjoyed it anyway.
This game is pretty cool as far as concept but the ending wasn't satisfying at all.
I feel like this game had allot of hype and it just wasn't that great.
This game has been in the corner of my mind since 2015, when I first watched a YouTuber play it. I love this game and it holds a special place in my heart and has been one of my biggest inspirations. Thank you to the developers for making this amazing game. I really do recommend this game if you are thinking of getting it.
I really loved this game I thought I thought it was SO PRETTY like all the art was amazing and I really hope they make a new game soon after Little miss fortune which I also highly recomend. But ya this game was amazing.
A dark and macabre story and visuals, a fantastic narrative experience with a nice message. Highly recommended!
Thank you killmonday games for this amazing experience!
absolutely amazing game. i loved playing through it. i was a little confused on the plot at times but i think that adds some charm to the game. only thing you should keep in mind is it's one of those games you can play once and not want to play again.
played this with the loml it was pretty good . nice adventure, pretty decent story, nice music and fun while also challenging puzzles.
It's a lovely indie game. I was intrigued by the art style and theme so long ago closer to when it came out. Recently I finally gave it a proper sit down, and it was worth it. It's a story filled with emotion, and I can't recommend it enough.
Great story, impressive balance between horror and heartwarming. Thank you.
Wonderfully joyous and depressing game. I adore the story line and appreciate the twists.
Overall this game is a master piece. The artstyle was so eatable and ya'll were cooking with the animations and the music. But what is this ending??? Like, is Fran just going on some silly andventures with Itward and Palontras? Will she live with them or are they bringing her back home? And what is with the doctor guy in the weelchair and Drace? Is Remor still with Fran cus hes the manifestation of her anger and frustration (I think lol)
Like as I said the game is freaking cool and realy worth the money but it's just the ending that's a bit confusing that's all
Simple enough point and click adventure. The tone of the game feels a bit disjointed, with the early chapters feeling like a proper horror title, with later chapters easing off some darker subject material.
Some chapters are also much, much larger (in terms of area) than necessary. Chapter 3 is a good example of this, where your character will only ever have to interact with a very small quantity of things to complete their objectives. Thus, you find yourself doing a lot of back tracking across screens. It also becomes very very text heavy in this chapter, with characters saying a lot, while simultaneously saying nothing at all.
The game is fairly presentable overall. When I rack my brain of areas to praise, I come back to a few between chapter transition sequences which had some memorable interactive art. Beyond that, it's a game which is a nice enough quick play.
Great story and creative puzzles. I had a lot of fun making trying to figure out the true story of the game.
An ode to madness, it's no surprise that Fran is a classmate of Alice. While I enjoyed this gloomy masterpiece, the game is one of those that ends up leaving many questions. The main one being "How much of what's going on was even real?" (from the game universe perspective). It's clear that not everything that happened was imaginary, but to what exact degree is... hard to understand. Game theory time, I guess?) Haven't done this for a while
Gameplay was ok, but some puzzles were annoying (and required googling). Fits the madness theme, though)
Liked the Two Worlds mechanic, with second one accessible through drugs)
While I often dislike the confusion aftertaste in games like this, I did enjoy the ride. Story and mystery are strong here
This game was so fun! Challenging at times, happy, sad, and beautiful. It's not a game for everyone, but as someone who struggles with doctors and my mental health, I felt a type of peace while playing this game. Currently I have 13/18 achievements. I'll keep playing to get all of them
Always been one of my absolute favorites, I love the story line, the way you can dive into the lore and come up with many different ideas for whats really happened. Will definitely play again, or 20 times.
A hauntingly beautiful point and click game set in a very interesting world where anything is possible and no one knows what is and isn't real. I love the art style of this game, it is disturbing and beautiful at the same time and works perfectly with the story being told which is a dark twist on Alice in Wonderland. I love this game overall and will continue to replay it.
Fran Bow is an amazing point n' click adventure game! The art style is great, the soundtrack is fitting and those two makes for a very distressing and disturbing atmosphere (in a good way!). Throughout the game you're always questioning what's really going on and trying to piece together the story which i really liked. The item combinations and solutions were really thought out too! I play a lot of these games and i'm often met with such ridicolous solutions that even a written guide is to no avail; but not in Fran Bow. I know for sure i'll be binging Youtube theories the next couple of days!
I remember watching Markiplier play Fran Bow when I was younger, so as an adult finally having the ability to play the game and appreciate all the dialogue and all the Easter eggs has been such an experience <3 I love how macabre and cute this game is and the characters lore is so unique. I would do ANYTHING for Mr. Midnight, Itward, and Palontras!!!! The game gets pretty spooky, so please seriously read the disclaimer before playing <3
Morbidly whimsical. The art style is quite peculiar, which gives it its charm. In general everything is dark and it touches on some heavy topics, but the middle of the game is a beautiful change of pace that lightens up the mood. As for the story, I like how intertwined reality is with the supernatural. Throughout the whole game there are hints that Fran is hallucinating, but there's also just as many hints that what she experiences is also real, or at least a good portion of the things, that leaves you questioning reality by the end of her journey. Do wish there was voice acting, however.
pishi juego todo hermoso la verdad disfrute mucho jugarlo y pasarlo, una experiencia que anele experimentar por años, 20000000000% recomendado si te gusta lo juegos de puzles.
It was a nice game with a twisted story. The puzzles and challenges were really well made but it could get sometimes boring and frustrating.
give it a shot and buy it.
An excellent point an click adventure: great art, interesting story, reasonable puzzles. Overall my favourite point and click game, highly recommend
Amazing game, the visuals are great (though the cutscenes are a bit simplistic) and the story is also intruiging and enjoyable, though its also kind of confusing at times and the ending feels a bit abrupt, it didn't really have any satisfying conclusion or payoff for me either. A lot of puzzles are fun and make sense but oftentimes you also find yourself getting stuck because the solutions sometimes seem very out of pocket. I feel like their second game Little Misfortune is a lot better, it feels a lot more polished and actually has a satisfying ending, playing this after that one (on a different platform) i feel a bit dissapointed, don't get me wrong its still an amazing game and i would recomend it but you should probably play this first.
I love games about (little) girls with mental disorders!
This game can take you from beautiful and cute scenarios, with fun characters, to extreme and disturbing gore.
It's a wonderful experience, the puzzles are not difficult, they are just well-crafted and require attention.
The graphics are unique and very beautiful, the dialogues are very well-crafted and bring individuality to each character.
It's the kind of game where you need to click on absolutely everything to not miss anything.
My favorite part is chapter three, I love the design of this part, the plant characters are super cute (I LOVE PALONTRAS) and the dynamics of the seasons are interesting.
It's worth every cent and every second, buy it!
I wanna Mr. Midnight for myself ᓚᘏᗢ
A solid adventure game that has a bizarre Alice in Wonderland-esque vibe but with more horror and gore. Some parts were surprisingly charming and wholesome. I'm terrible at point and clicks, so I had to look up a few hints along the way but the wast majority of the game is logical and straightforward. If you like Alice, definitely give this one a shot.
It's a really interesting story with a very unique main characther. It's honest and brutal and just mind of game, but the puzzles were sadly a tad bit complicated for me to solve on my own and i had to ask friends for help and search through walkthroughs to complete it.
Despite the puzzles part it was an amazing game with beautiful artwork and interesting points of few of mental health. If you are not sensitive to mentions of the brutal side of bad mental health, give this game a try, its a wild ride but one that you will remember for sure when you finished it, despite it being just a point and click games!
Actually one of my favorite story games ever, the art in the game is phenomenal and the overall story is lowkey peak. 10/10
If you have an understanding of red pill spiritual symbolism and knowledge of Alice in Wonderland’s application in mind control practices, this game will make much more sense to you and thus the horror of it will hit different. As someone who is sensitive to gore and the harming of children and animals, I put this off for years thinking that it’d be an experience I’d not enjoy. Now having finally played and completed it out of nagging curiosity, I can say that I’m so glad I did. It’s well worth the Underworld journey.
Fran is both a relatable and endearing character. My only complaint was being unable to access higher resolutions, so the graphics felt more dated than I'd hoped, but the art style is delightfully grim. I came here after playing Little Misfortune, and now I can only hope that the devs will continue to build upon this universe they started. A must play for any horror fan, especially those that prefer atmospheric horror as opposed to jump scares.
